Fallout New Vegas is still the best game. This is an unfiltered rant about the retcon and the current state of the Fallout franchise as a whole. Where's my fallout nv gang at?
…? did any of these people watch the last episode? idk how thats a retcon… least they didn’t completely annihilate the entire established lore like the halo tv show
Or starwars, or rings of power or the witcher or any other major IP. I'm shocked they did so little to change anything. This is the first time in a long time that there is barely any changes to source material.
@@HoldinContempti hate forced woke shit but there’s literally 1 trans character in like 5 scenes and the rest of the show is blood gore and heterosexuality lol
The show says the 'fall' of shady sands the 'first' capital in 2077 meaning they're probably moving the capital to the mojave and the strip hence big the mojave campaign by the 5th president. We already see many times NCR stretched too thin, no reinforcements and supplies coming from shady sands and the overall decline of NCR in-game, but our actions might have saved them if we helped them win battle of hoover dam. The show is a wet dream for fallout fans, as a fallout fan its amazing to see your game get a animated show and suddenly its become a big mainstream thing. Hell even your dog might be talking fallout now.
@@Exhalted1 When was that confirmed? If that is true, it kind of sounds like damage control. All of the slides in the show were cannon, like how we saw the observatory before we actually went there in the last episode. It doesn't make sense why they would show us a destroyed New Vegas if it wasn't true.
It's so sad to see superfans throw the baby out with the bathwater. You took this one detail and decided it destroyed the entire show. If you hadn't latched onto this detail, you would have found another. I genuinely feel sad for people who can't enjoy things unless they are perfect, in a world where perfection is impossible. Lighten up, dude.
It's just a bad show period. Horrible acting, pacing, humor, cinematography ect ect it's not good. People are in some effing fog are have been genuinely lobotomized.
@@jhonayo4887 the show is an incredible adaptation, especially compared to most video game adaptations. the props and scenework are especially impressive and while the writing is a little weak everything else makes up for it.
Not so much mad as a Fallout NV fan, but more so cautiously hopeful. I think there are some critiques here and there but overall, I'd say it is one of the more faithful live adaptions out there. Curious to see how they'll handle their depiction of New Vegas and it's lore implications, as it is considered the latest canon
They showed Brotherhood of steel as disloyal cowards who run from fights. The polar opposite of their basic character traits. Slop Writing for a low IQ slop show.
Been playing Fallout since Fallout 3 was the fresh new game. And I can say I haven’t gotten to this supposed part in the show yet but it’s guaranteed to not nearly be as bad as anything else I’ve seen so far “video game adaptation-wise” Not only that, I’d go so far as to say this has the potential to be one of the best post apocalyptic TV shows of all time.
@@Indigious no they don’t? You do realize that the NCR has a massive span over California, right? Nobody’s heard from vault city recently, who says the NCR didn’t take over there? The NCR isn’t just a narrow strip of land between Shady Sands and NV. Also, you can explain some NCR soldiers ignorance as that, ignorance. They may not have known the fate of Shady Sands while all the way in Nevada. If I was an NCR general, would I really want to tell my soldiers, who are fighting in a stalemate against Ceasar’s Legion, that the first capital is gone?
@@Indigious also shady sands wasn’t nuked in 2277, that’s when it began to decline. The show takes place in the mid 2290s. Maximus is around twenty years old, yet the nuke dropped when he appears to he around 7 years old. How does that make sense?
Without the retcons its good. Somehow they should change the date of the Fall of Shady Sands and the biggest problem will dissapera, not every problem but the biggest!
The entire Fallout franchise is explicitly in an "alternate timeline" to that of the real world. So that's built right into the original premise. So... view the TV series as _A_ Fallout, not _the only_ Fallout. Taken on that basis, it's actually pretty good.
Don't listen to these literal unpaid shills/bots. Yes they may reintroduce NCR as a more formidable faction because their lore makes no sense but you still have to deal with the DEI and weird stuff they insert into every show nowadays like pronoun people. Also lighten up, there will be better games; todays gaming industry is a lot like hollywood in the late 60's/early 70's where big studios are in between design philosophies and the indie creators are leading the way. Just stay positive and keep an open mind with new indie games.
The show was great and tied the characters stories together well. They did a great job at bringing the fallout world to life. Try to live a little and enjoy things instead of hate watching and going into something with a negative stance.
Good video, but honestly I think that it's a little dumb to not watch the show just because of a minor retcon. We should be thankful that we got one of the best videogame adaptations ever. Even if you are just a Fallout NV fan you should absolutely watch it.
Todd never worked on FNV, he has nothing to do with it at all. He just personally hate Obsidian and FNV because they did better Fallout than he did. He don't has the right to say what is retcon and what is not.
as a huge halo fan I'm blown away by all the babies whining about a few details in this otherwise spectacular fallout show. you really don't understand how lucky you are to have gotten this
The show is good, especially if you like fallout. I would highly recommend it. There is little to no messaging at all. I would say go and watch it and if you dont like it dont worry about it
@xxxhades1204 the misuse of the word capitalism. And you could argue that all the white guys are either stupid or evil. The only "good" and not stupid male character is the little brother.
@powert2009 True, basically is the staff, actors, and writers seem to have actually made the show for the fans of the series . They aren't deciding them or talking about how groundbreaking whatever oppression Olympics nonsense character is in the show. They just talk about how they wanted to do rightbby the fallout universe. And for a TV show about a videogame, they did the best I have seen yet. (I havent seen Arcane which i heard is really good)
Reminds me of buzfeed articles titled "the internet is mad @" from a couple stupid people who would be mad atmosphere is letting in sunlight. Every game show adaptation has been garbage or turned to garbage (witcher). We finally get good stuff people enjoy - You and whatever comments u read to make this have nothing but a fragile mind
The only retcon was that shady sands was moved to the boneyard. That's literally it. You guys are mad about stuff new lore being added and then calling it a retcon. The NCR was already on its last toes during the 2nd battle of hoover dam. If they lost, i.e. 3/4 of the endings, they would've been fucked anyway. New Vegas is fine and nothing from that game got retconned.
I dont think its specifically new vegas fans that are upset, i think its anyone who liked the fallout series, amazon and netflix have a very good track record of ignoring lore, and ruining series
They didn't though it is one small thing, the show is very respectful to the source material. And I hate all the other crap that gets put out. I don't look at star wars stuff at all anymore, I don't watch the halo series I didn't even watch the last of us because it had stupid garbage in it that ruins the ending of the first game
@@Captaincapafew14 We literally see the Enclave in the beginning of episode 2. It's where the scientist and his dog come from. Now I know you didn't even watch the show and you're trying to defend it.
@xx_amongus_xx6987 no your right, that's my bad. However, the enclave is not destroyed entirely anyway in the games. They have bases all over its not so crazy that they would have a facility still working
I recently noticed that people saying that new vegas fans are toxic or elitist(whatever it means). I never really felt myself part of Fallout fandom, but i can call myself new vegas fan(its easy to guess with my nickname). Can someone please tell me are we really that toxic or its just some new weird trend?
It's a trend, they look at anyone who gives criticism for the projects that either retcon the lore or disrespect the source material(in this case, Fallout) and label everyone of those people as toxic, bigots of whatever to make it look like people who don't immediately gush at these shows/new games (that shit on the old material), are the bad guys.
The Fallout New Vegas fans that get called toxic are elitists who can’t stand when people have different opinions on Fallout. There are plenty of chill New Vegas fans. And there are plenty of New Vegas fans who call everyone else shills, sheep, morons, or lobotomites.
The fall of shady in 2277 wasnt the nuke , todd confirmed this lol. The nuke was after, the fall was a decline. And critiquing something youve never even seen is some smooth brain stuff. The show is good, even some of the original creators of FO have praised it. I went into it as a og fallout player and fan, starting with the first game, and thought it was going to be a butcher and wanted to witness the dumpster fire. And eas surprised that it was actually good. Sandy being moved into the boneyard as opposed to being around the sierra nevada range was the only retcon that was in the show. Cry more. New vegas wasnt even the best FO game lol. It was good, but not the best. Get over it.
A Vault Overseer nuked one NCR town due to a marital dispute, this nuke apparently made the entirity of the NCR collapse and dissapear as a entity in California - this is just sloppy worldbuilding in my opinion
Low IQ writing. Another example: they want their token diversity character (maximus) to get the cool power armor suit as soon as possible. So they have a paladin run from a fight (which would never happen) and die because shitty diversity token refused to help him. The correct way to write this chain of events would be to have Token Diversity save the paladin, who is a brave struggle against overwhelming odds, the paladin then befriends token diversity character, Then paladin fights the ghoul in scraptown, Ghoul knows Armor's weakness and delivers fatal blow to paladin. Paladin then bleeds out in Token Diversity character's arms telling him to take his armor and complete the mission. Now you have given your shitty Token Diversity character his suit of power armor in a more organic way and you have given him a more legitimate motivation to propel his character through the story, Revenge against the ghoul for killing his friend. I can literally sit on a toilet and shit out a better written script for this show without even trying and I could hit all the same slimeky woke progressive agenda beats that they want me to hit. Its not just woke, Its lazy hack slop thats badly written ON TOP of also being woke.
It's kind of embarassing how much New Vegas fans are obsessed with New Vegas, so far as to bitch and moan about what really is a fantastic piece of media just because it puts a dent in the lore of their 14 year old game. Like, seriously you guys is this what's most important to you?
They're just mad because their all time favorite masterpiece game with greatest writing evuh is like frigging 20 years old They're just bored and frustrated and therefore big mad.
the show doesn't make sense and is just another feminist fantasy movie for normies. Bethesda doesn't care about the lore and i wish they loose the rights to the franchise so some other ambicious company can bring back it's glory
@@Channel3.14 yeah saw all of it. Nah man they made Fallout even more of a joke. It's like as if a Marvel director made this show. Dumb jokes at all times. Nothing is left to be serious for more than 30 seconds.
