@@Dandadada12 your missing out. I convinced people like u before and they watch it after hating on it, saying it’s boring and end up watching all 8 seasons in 2 weeks.
After years of talking to one of my friends about this show. I've FINALLY convinced him watch Game of thrones. We just finished the first episode he doesnt really know what to think with ALL the names, faces, houes, and shit. I'm crossing my fingers and hope he likes this show.
It can be a lot to soak in but when you get into it it’s definitely worth the experience. I remember I felt the same way but what grabbed me is seeing Bran get pushed out that window. I was like woah, they actually pushed a little kid out a window, never seen that before. The acting and story kept me there even though it took a minute to really understand who was who.
@@ActorsReal2Reel similar today completed first episode. I have no work so I’m bored af. So just thought of watching got coz it’s suggested by many arround the world . My aim is to kill the boredom. So ??
@@ChillChampion007 people think it’s a super high charged John Wick paced show but it’s not especially in the first season. They have to make you care first before they all go on their separate journeys. If in the first episode they faught dragons, had a war etc, you wouldn’t care about them because you never got know them. Action scenes without emotional attachment is just visual noise. If you want to just see an action packed scenes you can go on RU-vid and watch a compilation of battles but it won’t mean as much. I put the show off for the longest time and finally sat down and watched it and I literally watched all 5 seasons within 2 weeks and caught up to the show before the other seasons aired. To each their own though. If you don’t want to watch it, I can’t make you. I did make this video though to atleast make a case for it
You know, i was never really interested in this medieval type of show but your video completely changed my viewpoint, i am now going to binge watch all of it, thanks for broadening my horizons man, really appreciated, also, great video👍👌
@@Broockle Forget all those shows you have on your list and just jump to game of thrones 🤷♂️like seriously you’re going to be blown away first episode.
Well I took more character motive and some set ups to understand but ,not a play by play on every event and plot point. Just more of the essence of what makes it a great show and explain enough to peak interest. Thanks for watching
I just bought the entire series on Blu-ray, I'm waiting for it to come in the mail, mind you I have never seen the show, not because I didn't want to when it was airing but 1. Everyone in their mother wouldn't shut up about it, had to dodge spoilers, so I decided id wait till it's done, and 2. I didn't have HBO. So here I am EXCITED to FINALLY watch it!
LOTR will always have a place in my heart. In my opinion when you add realism to fantasy related things that is when it doesnt become fantasy anymore. I watch fantasy to escape reality. Not to be reminded of it. When shows become dark and gritty and bring adult elements it just loses it's value for me. You want to see the good guys win, you want happy endings because it brings resoultion. Also if I really wanted to watch sex scenes then I go watch it elsewhere. Idk maybe I am being cyncial and I should try to give the show a chance. I just never understood the hype when it comes to new shows and would rather watch a movie for a few hours. Someone try to convince me because my girlfriend is begging me to watch this show.
It is tough show to watch for sure….it’s very dark, and it’s not an escape from reality, and the ending is disappointing. That being said….this show is still one of the greatest TV shows ever. There’s no good or bad guys, it’s about the hardships of war, and the people in power who cause these wars. It’s a sad tragic tale of not just good vs evil…but humanity against humanity. There’s no right or wrong in this show, no black and white…just grey, and grim. The constant comparisons to Lord of the Rings is unwarranted in my opinion because the two tales couldn’t be more different from each other. I’d compare LotR to Skyrim or World of Warcraft before I’d compare to Game of Thrones
I mean… it’s very realistic, but it is still a fantasy show. It’s just a story. I personally can still escape from reality by watching it and House of The Dragon, despite both show’s realism. Maybe it works for you, maybe it doesn’t. I think if you give it a try you might realize just what you’re missing out on. The sceneries are beautiful, the characters are fun and interesting, the acting and music is brilliant, the dragons are some of the coolest ever to be put to screen even though they’re not shown much in the earlier seasons. There are a lot of super sad and horrifying scenes and a lot of super epic scenes. If not, that’s okay too. I could go on and on. I personally love both GOT and LOTR Equally even LOTR is the better influence.
I’m now going to have to let go of my title of one of only ten people in Australia who hasn’t watched GOT as you did such an excellent job of selling it. Also thanks as I started watching Better call Saul on your recommendation which I am really enjoying.
I finally watched it! Wow! I couldn’t believe I hadn’t been tuned in to this show. It was so addictive I found myself watching episodes in the bathroom at work.😂 I rewatched it again already. I enjoyed it. House of Dragon actually made me go and watch GOT!
@@Undesignedd don’t listen to those people, watch it and form your own opinion or miss out watching the greatest show of all time trust me overall you won’t regret it, if u watch it come back and comment your thoughts!!!
@@Undesignedd to be honest the journey there is so good a little inconvenience didn’t turn me off. It’s still one of the best shows ever made. Very few shows stick the landing. I think game of thrones did a decent job that could of been less rocky but overall, I think it’s definitely worth watching.
@@Usthereout action doesn’t make a show, the characters and circumstances they’re put in do. If the first episode was a huge battle with no character development it might as well be transformers. Mindless Action without any story or character is just visual noise. You have to build up your characters to care before you put them in dire situations and game of thrones masterfully build up great characters bad and good so later when the crap hits the fan your like Nooooo….why, how!!!
This video was pretty good, wish I could have watched the last clip without context 😂 I’m gonna give it another try since I didn’t watch much of it a few years ago
I remember hearing a LOT about how they ruined it at the end. Should I watch the ending, or is there a good place where you can realistically stop after the peak but during/before the decline?
TO be honest the ending wasn't horrible. Most shows ending done end the way the fans want. The thing that made people mad was the shorter season so things were sped up. Some people turned out to be what they were trying not to be and people wanted something else. Dexter and Lost beat this ending in terrible endings by 100 miles. I was kinda like dang I wish they would of done this but i mean the books were never finished so they had to figure things out a bit. The last season actually won the show the most awards. Theres some good moments in those last 2 seasons as well. I think if your a non book reader like me and binge watch it all you will not be let down as hard as the people who expect something different for some reason.
@@ActorsReal2ReelVERY WELL SAID & totally agree! The ending is actually fitting for Thrones! Lots of haters were expecting it to be something it wasn't - I swear so many fan fiction stuff was all about the happy sappy ending BS. The show and books were never about pleasing everyone - there's a reason why Ned got killed off and we had the Red Wedding among MANY unconventional things! The show and books are not meant to be like StarWars, HarryPotter, LotR or Marvel etc that give everything of what fans want to be happy. Thrones is really very much like Shakespeare tragedy where it's really about the flaws of human nature, never about good triumphing-stuff. Some people just prefer their stories grim and I applaud this show for having serious balls to do what it did. Anyone else in charge of the show would've been scared and instead opt to give "fans" a happily ever after ending BS! For your info btw, the ending WAS told to the showrunners as early as 2013 as revealed in the awesome book Fire Cannot Kill a Dragon - highly recommend it. And that crap that the haters claim that the showrunners made the last season short so they can do StarWars is utter BS. If you google closely, they in fact announced right after season 6 (2016) that there will only be exactly 13 episodes left - that's like 2 years way before they announced StarWars! LOTS moron-haters on the internet don't know this!
What i feel is really wierd about how i feel about violence is that i can watch a scene where a guy destroyes a other guys head with a cardoor without flintching that much, but if someone just cuts a guy's throat i have to look away. I dont know what it is about throats, but i cant look at it. Maybe because i feel like it such a weakspot idk.
Haha I try convincing my classmates to watch the show, but they just won't lmao. I feel sad for them...they are missing out on the most important thing in life, GAME OF THRONES!!!!!
Yea it’s hard to convince someone especially when you know their taste snd know they will like it but for some reason there’s a roadblock that just won’t go down. That’s why I like making these videos. I’ve tried so hard to get people to watch certain shows and it never worked so I made these and surprisingly these worked better than me trying to get them to watch it
Lmao. I watched the 1st season and 3 episodes of the second season and stopped watching. I even hated lord of the rings. mid evil folk lore doesn’t interest me or anything like it. heck I never even watched 1 movie of Harry Potter.
I'm 42 years old and I've never seen it. It’s not that I don’t want to watch the show. It just inspired such a cultural phenomenon (there were GoT-themed parties and weddings, GoT watch parties, people dressing up as the characters for Halloween, etc.) while it was first airing that it seems like a show I should’ve watched when it was first airing. I was 30 years old when the first episode aired, so it wasn’t like I was too young to watch it, but I didn’t have access to HBO since it was exclusively a premium cable TV channel at that point. I have the Max streaming platform now and can watch the whole series. However, I’d feel a little late to the party and “left out” of the whole craze because that’s all passed me by at this point in time.
Boromir, Denethor, Wormtongue, Smeagol--Tolkien's world is one of archetypal good and evil, but the truly fascinating characters are those that are caught between them.
Im not super sure if i want to spend time watching it, not a really big fan of fantasy worlds with dragons and crap. But idk just alot of stuff seems lenghty and boring information from the stuff that ive seen and i like more action
They set the scenario and introduce the character and allow the audience to form connections so when the action happens you are really invested and consequences matter. And there are consequences. It's very much worthwhile getting into it, it picks up pace and has some of the most incredible action and fx and music and sets and... everything really... that you've ever seen in a TV show.
Awesome glad it convinced you. I’ve done a couple so far. I will definitely be doing more. Breaking Bad, The Queens Gambit, Cobra Kai are the others I’ve done so far.
@@ActorsReal2Reel yeah I saw the playlist, I have seen queen gambit I would love to see on stranger things and many others that people feel as they r not up to standards but r really good , ✨🎉🌠
Meanwhile, everyone is going crazy over Money Heist S5 . While ther is me still Obsessing over Game of Thrones coz " GAME OF THRONES IS GAME OF THRONES" 😎😎
Btw I watched till season 3. It was epic. But I heard many people saying upcoming seasons are shit. I don't wanna risk my time watching the upcoming seasons. So is it bad as it seems?? Season8?
I think you should make up ur own mind and see. Its definitely worth it even if the ending isn't amazing, I liked alot of it to a point. There's still alot of good moments to enjoy and not many shows really land a great ending anyways. Most shows crash and burn but I think Game of thrones ending isn't as bad as LOST or Dexters. Those were just terribly bad.
Season Eight is pretty tragic so far as the writing is concerned it's true, but it tends to get overlooked that just about everything else... production, costumes, fx, stunts, music, even the acting, given the lack of quality writing to work from - and it is cinematic in quality. As much criticism as it got, the Battle for Winterfell had some of the most awesome shots I've ever seen on TV, and the soundtrack was another level. However, checking out at season three is way too early. The signs can be seen by season six - the finale is epic and one of the most gripping, but by season seven the writing had flatlined and it was all about having epic moments rather than meaningful ones. I'd say that you're better armed than the original viewers in that you will entertain no false hopes for the ending so you can better appreciate the good things - and there are plenty - rather than sweat over the finale, and I'd say it's worth watching the whole thing, but if not then I'd say you can watch it without issue up to the end of season six; the last two are where it start to get really out of shape.
Most people hate Season 8 because it makes what you watched at the end of S3 into child's play. For many it was a bridge too far. Many expected some sort of a Hollywood ending as 'reward' for sticking with the show all those years, but GOT stayed brutally uncompromising till the bitter end. So, you might not like it, but just remember it is not regarded as 'bad' because of production values or artistic compromise or anything like that. People just hate it for it's 'writing' (code for 'I don't like what happened in the end to my favorite characters.')
@@coyote5.02 I thought it was hreat until D&D got ahead of the books and ran out of ideas. You must have on some level too or you wouldnt have watched this video or felt the need to teoly toy comment.
I have a question before I start though, how much warfare is core to the story? Logistics, batle tactics, strategy, outmaneuvering your opponents, etc. Does any of this ACTUALLY come into play with this show? Or is it shown like a few times here and there with no real meaning?
I’m trying to convince myself to start this series. Despite being a fantasy nerd something has kept me from this show and I’m not sure what but now that I’ve just finished The Witcher I’m feeling quite the pull to this show. Not sure if I want to take the leap.
If you have ask someone to watch Game of Thrones, I say let them miss out. People like what they like and others like to rebel on good shit. Some people are too cool for school, I say let them miss out.
"oh please, why would i want to watch a series that i know is gonna be a catastrophe" Fast-forward to 5 years later, i know the history of old Valyria, the conquest of Westoros, the many rebellions and finally Bobby B's rebellion. Watch house of the dragon guys
It was great, wish it was 3 episode longer. I do not hate season 8, a lot of great stuff there. Just somethings could of executed a little better but other then that the series is amazing as a whole experience.
@@officialthomasjames What many peolple doesnt know is, that not the producer are guilty for the bad end, the writter were the problem. Many of the main writers didn't really want to participate anymore and left little time for the last season because they all wanted to switch to marvel. so this whole last season is just a product of stupid writers and WAY too little time.
Definitely a must watch Kane. LOTR is awesome but this show has more complexity to it. It ask things like do honest good men make good rulers or do cut throats who desire power, though narcissistic, keep the realm flourishing. They go into lore and why certain people hate each other, swords have names, family trees have reverence, kings are made but not really equipped. It has a lot of great moments of people just talking in rooms too. The dialogue is masterful
More people watching GoT than any tv series until season eight. Then claim it's terrible only because it lost its way towards the end, regardless of how much they were with the series until then.
You did not compare GOT to LOTR. If I was convinced to watch it, I am less now. However, I will sometime watch it and put it to consideration. Thanks to you
I hate lord of the rings and am obsessed with game of thrones. It’s not very alike at all, just the concept of the dark ages and what comes with it. Game of thrones is so expansive and unexpected, unpredictable, heartbreaking, and so much more. It’s insane. The only show that’s ever had me Outwardly gasping and crying and yelling at the TV in both good and bad ways. The character build ups are so good once you get all the houses down, and the pay offs are well worth sticking it through. And the dialogue is amazing. You should watch!
@@cassi94 uh-huh. Okeee. Yeah, sorry. The show ain't really working for me. I found it boring, and exhausting. All that sex, like I got bored of it. I guess if they didn't include that part so much, I would've been entertained, also ive been spoiled of the ending, and did not found it entertaining, nor was it fun either. Lord of the rings has a win for this one in my opinion.
@@Ken_himura lol you don’t even know the story so of course the ending isn’t going to entertain you. It’s boring? Lol it’s amazing dialogue and story build up. But enjoy lord of the rings.
@@cassi94 bruh, that's just your opinion dude. After watching its first season, I was unsatisfied, bored to be more specific. Some shows aren't for everyone. And you keep bringing up dialoge like as if that's all that matters. The point is, I gave it a try and it wasn't for me. Enjoy your game of thrones for what it's worth.
Nope. GOT isn’t LOTR inspired. In fact GRRM went to every length to avoid comparisons & analogies to LOTR for very good reasons. Anything that tries to emulate LOTR is on a lose/lose. They are very different animals.
They are different animals and I mention that as well but GRRM is also a huge LOTR’s fan boy. If GRRM never read those books he would of never been inspired to create his own universe like Tolkien. He even put the R R in his name in honor of Tolkien. If Tolkien never wrote LOTR then GOT would of never existed. LOTR had maps of the continent, foreign made up languages, swords with names, different realms of men with in fighting, a dragon, a lord of darkness who wanted to see everyone destroyed. His army was made up of reanimated elves. Tolkien gave GRRM all the inspiration needed to create Westeros
2022 (Dec) , I started watching this because of hyde and stopped watching it after 1st ep becuase it was kinda boring and i didn't understand anything , 2023 (March) then i again continue watching it because of hype , and man my favorite show , i even liked the ending, 2023 April ( date i finished it )❤❤❤.

Lol, love lotr/hobbit so you convin ed me, also there is a new lotr series comming out this year so hoping that when im done with got ill imediately start with that one
This serie is good. But not 9.2 of IMDB. It's more like 8.2 . They could have done better. Just finished watching today but still attack of titans is better
Should i start watching it because lots of people that already watched it state that the ending is trash I don’t want to binge everything just to be disappointed by the ending
I think you are correct. I binge watched the series and loved it until the end which I felt actually was trash. I’m now wishing that JCL Productions could make an alternative ending more to my liking lol
It's really not. It's like 5 seasons of over hyped fantasy genre, with gratuitous nudity or violence sprinkled in to keep your attention, followed by another three seasons of the show rapidly going downhill culminating in one of the worst finale seasons in TV so far. The most exciting thing about the show, according to most people at the time it aired, was that anyone could die and they often did. So edgy.
@@ActorsReal2Reel That's just an appeal to authority, which only works if the person you're talking to values said authority. Most award shows these days are just circle jerk, popularity contests. Now, I can understand you disagreeing with my assessment of the show as a whole, but are you really saying you disagree with the assertion the last few seasons were of diminishing quality with the final season being just the worst?
So many good ones to choose from. Bronn is definitely up there. I would say Sandor Clegane, Oberyn Martel, Jaime Lannister, Ned Stark, Tyrion Lannister, Olyenna Tyrell, Varys, Robert Baratheon. If I had to narrow it down to one and say I would watch them alone in their own show and be entertained, It would probably be Sandor Clegane. He's easily annoyed, Blunt, but has a side to him which is rare to see where he can show compassion and care but hes definitely a killer. A show with him alone I'd watch so Sandor Clegane if my arm was twisted for just one only. For top 3 I would say, Sandor, Tyrion, and Jaime.I haven't even said Danny yet and she's great too. This show does characters right, so many good ones to pick from.
