In this video I go over why Homelander can't bring himself to kill Stand Edgar in The Boys Tv show, and how this may effect the end of The boys Season 3.
edger is jack from jupiter, but that’s just a theory, ahhhh film theory, annnnnnn cut. but frfr homelander in season 1 said he was going to die soon because his blood smelled funky, and edger is just weird man he gotta be something
*In the comics, it’s Stillwell that doesn’t take crap from Homelander, they changed it for the series and used Edgar instead. In the comic, James Stillwell verbally thrashes Homelander after he takes over the White House. Covered in blood and looking very psychotic, James still wasn’t intimidated. Homelander can easily detect heartbeats and ultimately heart rates. That’s why it made it so easy for him to intimidate his team and everyone else that really knew him. Because he knew they were scared. Stillwell wasn’t. Infact when visited by Homelander after the events I described above, he insisted Homelander just take him out of his misery so he wouldn’t have to hear him talk anymore. Lol. He was sick of his attention seeking antics and just begged to be killed. But he knew Homelander wouldn’t do it. He knew all he was looking for was some kind of validation from the one person he couldn’t never get it from. Stillwell on multiple occasions called him pathetic and basically a waste of life*
yeah, he said homelander has never done anything that any other person wouldn't be capable of if they have the same powers, would be interesting hearing this from edgar on the series
@@thekrakensdaughter He was handed amazing powers and a life as a rich idolised person without earning it...then he did nothing important in his life he was just a bully who thought he was more important than he actually is he just used his powers for his own selfish desires. He has no important skills and he doesn't know how to be a hero his entire team messed up a plane rescue mission...Stilwell saw them as bad product who just created problems for the company and the only reason he didn't kill them all with a nuke at herogasm is bc they were too valuable...Homelander gave Vought billions of dollars in revenue.
Circus elephant trainers used to tie calves to posts and let tire themselves out trying to break free, by the time they were full grown adults they could lift the post effortlessly, but they never did. I'm guessing some kind of Pavlov experiment went on.
@@charlieharrington9555 this is probably my to work on children until adulthood as well. When parents hit kids with belts or instill negative responses to actions, that sticks with them. It’s subconscious fear, and instilled a sense of powerlessness. Stan Edgar’s responses only reinforce that idea, he doesn’t fear him, but he also never touches him, because that may force a instinctual response. He’s tied to Edgar like how a child may obey an abusive parent until adulthood, where they get walked on constantly.
Same as with Stillwell in the comics really. Edgar doesn't fear him in the slightest, and that scares him. The two characters in the series who don't fear him at all are Edgar and Butcher, and while Homelander latches on to Butcher's rage as a point of fascination, Edgar doesn't care about him at all, and I think that's something he fears
Homelander craves Edgar's approval. Edgar is a father figure for Homelander. Homelander got Edgar out of the way because he wants to prove to Edgar that he can be a good CEO too.
Its the same thing with why he let butcher live so long until he realized he was behind creating a team a super terrorists to kill all of payback and then him. At the time he didn't know about butchers temp v so when he said "deals off" that laser eye was set to kill. Anyways, they're people that he begrudgingly respects either because they don't care about his power or he wants to prove he can beat them at their non power move too
Homelander always says the 7 are his family. Crazy or not, he just wants to be loved. The love he nvr received growing up. Edgar runs the 7 therefore is automatically in the father figure role that Homelander wants
I wouldn't be surprised if Stan were stronger than Homelander, but because he doesn't like to be in the spotlight, he figured that he'd rather control Vought from the top.
Yeah if I ran the company that made supes I'd sure as sh!t be getting the best V for myself, if only as an insurance policy against the superpowered narcissists my company was creating.
You're way off, here. Homelander isn't an emotionally complex character. He was looking for affirmation, approval, and love from Stillwell. When he realized Stillwell treated him the way she did because she was afraid of and didnt actually love him, he was heartbroken, felt betrayed, isolated and infuriated; so he responded the only way he knew to act when betrayed... and he lashed out. When he took the CEO position from Edgar, attended his board meeting and realized he had NO idea how to do the job, he lashed out at the board member because that is the way an emotionally stunted child responds when they dont know any other ways to deal. Homelander is like one of those men who like to dress and be treated like a baby. X
@Zachle Mentor please no, lex luthor has a very specific look and edgars actor is... well black. People hate white washing but then don't hate how specifically white characters have been made black or filipino or something. It would be right if those characters were like that originally but this just seems like a double standart.
Stan is borderline suicidal and the type that would off himself do to not accomplishing his goals. He screws with homelander because he kind of likes the idea of getting killed by him. What keeps Stan going is that he always has a plan to move up. Homelander cannot kill him because 1. He does not fear him 2. Homelander has some attachement to him like a son to a father. 3. By killing Stan this will just prove Stan right that he is just bad product. It's sort of like how Batman cannot kill joker as much as he wants to. Homelander has his own code of conduct and so he has to find other ways to rise above Edger.
I think the reason why Edgar isn't scared of Homelander is because Homelander just can't harm him. 1) Edgar could have installed a killswitch in Homelander, a capsule containing a toxin designed to kill him or just an explosive in his brain; 2) He upgraded Blacknoir and made him capable to terminate Homelander; 3) Edgar himself took V to become stronger than Honelander.
Number 1 is the only one that could possibly make sense but even still is a stretch because that most likely still wouldn’t harm him. Black Noir is afraid of Soldier Boy and definitely couldn’t take him even without the depower beam that Soldier boy has. Edgar might maybe have powers but most likely doesn’t, in season 2 it is said between him and butcher at the dinner they had that Edgar’s only contingency plan to take Homelander down is Homelander a son.
What if Edgar does have a super power? Maybe Edgar has a power no one knows about...Edgar could have professor X type powers and could be able to have some psychological powers.
When Homelander about to kill Stan... Option 1 Stan slit Homelander's throat with a box cutter. Blood ooze from the cut and he struggled ugly on floor. Option 2 Lyle shows up from nowhere and beat the crap out of Homelander with a deep fryer handle. Then Stan says:"This is acceptable, you can go home now."
Not sure if you're aware but there's a piercing ringing noise in the video. Not sure if it's comg from the music or the narration but might want to check it out!
I personally see it as Homelander wants to win and beat Stan edgar so tries to out do him out the time, but never can. If Homelander killed Stan, then Homelander has "lost".
There are two types of power. The kind that Homelander has which is destructive force and then you have the kind the Edgar has, which is information and influence. Edgar is equal in power. Easy to kill but unreachable
I don't know why homelander doesn't try to harm stan but I have a theory about why stan is not afraid of homelander that stan may also be a supe even more powerful than homelander and he may be hiding this from everyone.
Vought put certain safe guards into Homelander. One was the need to be loved. They may have put a safe guard into him preventing homelander from hurting edgar or threatening him.
Honestly i belive that edgar may be a supe himself. We always hear that his heart rate is really low and he isnt scared of anyone. I really hope we get a moment where homelander tries to kill him and then edgar kicks his ass.
When it come to why Homelander doesn't kill Stan Edgar, well, it's quite simple: as far as Edgar is concerned, it's a gam. if Homelander gives in, Edgar wins...and Homelander know that.
I think Edgar''s too high up with the government for the U.S. to not see it as an act of war. I think it's the only murder he'd be unable to cover up because Edgar's higher-profile than Homelander to the government.
Imagine being the CEO of a company that has a substance that can make you age significantly slower keeping you young longer than a human lifespan, and you don't take it?? Riiiiiiiight. Let alone powers, they have an actual fountain of youth.
This is such an overcomplicated video. The main reason why is because Stan is not afraid of homelander. It's the same reason why he won't kill any of the boys or starlight. They have to be afraid otherwise it's no fun for him. The only time he ever kills anybody is if they are either afraid of him or if they are a direct Ally who has explicitly betrayed him.
the real reason is this: homelander is a narcissist. he needs not only public and private validation, but he also needs public adoration. from the beginning, Stan has been chopping down homelander's psyche while playing on his his ego, and his temper. for instance: he's been calling homelander, paraphrased, a mindless killer who's just another run of the mill, etc., and that basically he aint shit. if homelander kills or harms Stan in any way, he's proving Stan to be right and his narcissism prevents him from allowing someone else to be right over him. if homelander just "loses it" on Stan randomly because of something said to him, he again proves Stan to be right. Stan has homelander trapped in an eternal catch22 and if/until homelander finds a way out of it, Stan will always win.
everything about homelander bothers me. the worm turning in his brain. the cruel childhood. his child with someone else's wife. his conceited nature coupled with super human powers. notice i didnt say super hero powers, because there's nothing heroic about him or the show. the degree of narcissism. frightening stuff. call me old school, but i liked superman because he was incorruptible, captain marvel when he was a male, spiderman as a teen with things on his mind. homelander the show is like a bad soap opera with gratuitous violence and gore. the show, concept, everything, is nothing more than a turd gift wrapped as a tulip.
Vegeta: F**k off, Triclops! (flies away) Krillin: Why do you antagonise him like that? You know he can kill you, right? Tien: At this point, it's a game. If he gives in, I win. And he knows that. - Dbz Abridged. Describes the dynamic between these two pretty well in my opinion.
This is why I'm not watching the rest of this video and not subscribing to this channel... homelander is not the strongest being in this universe. He is the dumbest and most vain that can easily be manipulated by a normie. Soldier boy is the strongest...last I checked homelander couldn't wipe out anyone's power and kill them at the same time, plus the dudes old-school af. He would have just killed Edgar and made someone else clean up the mess. Last point...this shit is all made up, one writer can make someone even more powerful. In the comics black noir is white and is an equal to homelander and kills him. Case in point. I would have never subscribed anyways because fantasy stories are a circle jerk and are a waste of time. It's not real. Try focusing on real world issues like can China defeat the US in a slug fest of military might
