WHY I BOUGHT A MOBILE HOME | 5 reasons 

I am a single mom who was unfortunately kicked out by an abusive dude, kids, and dog locked out. We had nowhere to go, and nobody would rent me anything because they wanted me to have earnings of 3X the rent. I found a really old trailer park and I got the tiny mobile home on sale, plus the low rent, and we are home for good. They're our there, you just have to look. 😁👍

My wife and I bought ours almost 3 years ago. Neither of us had ever lived in a manufactured home before. We got an older one (built in 1983) on land in the GA mountains. Why? We want to retire early and reduce our expenses. It's been great. I've been remodeling the house as time allows (we're about 2/3's done), and it will be paid off next year. We have a creek running right outside our bedroom window, it's just paradise to us.

Our mobile home is a 1975 home. We bought it 20 years ago and my husband did a lot of major updates. New Windows, carpet, paint, and beautiful yard work including a patio with covered roof as well as boardwalks around out patio areas and flower beds. We have an attached garage, we can grill out and park in our own driveway and plant flowers and a garden etc.. We are so happy here. As we age it is so nice to have a small yard and easy to care for home and everything is on one floor. No stairs and minimal yard work.

We recently purchased a 5/3 double wide. She's a big girl! We sold our 2 story 5/3 in a subdivision and put our home on our 1.25 acre property, No HOA

Just bought my first New Mobil home in 2023 I’m 34 years old and it’s such and accomplishment! Paid it off! It’s 1159 square feet with a 12x12 porch on 7.5 acres! Kids ride atvs and no neighbors life is good! I used Clayton Homes and got the EXCITEMENT MODEL 3 bed 2 bath

Yes I agree with all 5 reasons and those were my exact reasons also. 20 years now. Very affordable and you're able to do other things as well, like shop and travel.

We recently bought a 3 BR/2 BA Doublewide. Like you we wanted something brand new and affordable.

I really hope to get one of these in the future. I’m 29 and the apartment prices are insane right now. I would much rather pay that on a bigger space and some land.

I bought one because investment groups are buying up all the older homes that were in my price range and God just placed this one just for me it didn't even get to go on the market God gave me favor and i thought i may buy another once i pay this one off. So much room

I have been looking into Manufactured homes for years and I love all of your reasons. You can get so much more bang for your buck with these homes and all in a short time frame depending on all you include in your home. Thanks for sharing sis and I'm playing catch up.💜💜

Well I decided on a double wide only couple years old on several acres about 25 years ago. It was affordable and excellent shape only 2 adults lived in it. Lots of space for my livestock critters. At the time housing costs were so expensive. Location was excellent. I have no regrets. Was a wise choice for me. Insulation and layout were cost efficient.

Closed on a 5 bedroom double wide home and I’m STOKED. I’m telling you what I have 5 kids and I didn’t want anymore stairs. Gosh the house I’m in now has 3 floors and I’m so ready to have everyone on one level and not have to carry laundry everywhere 😅

We went with a 5br/ba double wide. Multiple builders would not build on our land for under 300K. We were in a 2 story 5bd/3ba in a subdivision on .34 acre. The stairs were a major factor in our decision as well. Now we are on 1.25 acres that we own free and clear.

These are my exact thoughts. I have been looking at manufactured homes and I love them. You get so much more for your money. Your home is beautiful love your video!!!

This is the route I'm taking. My husband and I have been looking and watching mobile home prices for yrs now plus the best manufacturers. We decided to go with palm harbor or deer park/Valley. Stick homes Quality have declined drastically but the cost has went up to the heavens.

I wish that was still true in Florida, mobile homes cost just as much as a brick home, they are both around $270k now, its ridiculous, nobody barely can afford to buy either one 😢

I like the fact your heating and cooling bill will be cheap . 1 floor for me is a bonus ! I'm getting older and I definitely want to downsize.

Girl, you hit it on the head. That's exactly why we're purchasing a manufactured home. For all of those reasons, we actually purchased a nice piece of land. And I cannot wait until we move in. We are due to hopefully the end everything by the ending of October so I feel you're so right, but you hit all the good reasons because those were my reasons as well. Love your channel & authenticity! I had looked at Clayton Home Modular Homes in my area but then changed my mind & started looking at stick built homes. Chile, none of them were within my budget. I build my Manufactured on land live there when we retied for 17 years and when I sold for more than double what I paid for it, yes I add a pretty porch and and 18 by 18 foot deck too. People say you loose money we didn;t that';s for sure were close to 80 so sold it and moved to Reswood apartment were the first renterhere no stairs what so ever hubby not walking so good so happy even though I have neighbors now there very nice and it very quiet here too. As we age things do change butthat;s okay too. Be Happy where ever you are in your stage of life God Bless. Your choices make so much sense.

When the kids was little me & their dad used to take them on some Saturdays to look in double wides, it was fun & they where cheap, now that the kids are grown & looking for their own home they can't afford them or the down payment, its so sad how they tripled the prices 😢

Yes, we're on the same page far as your 5 reasonings for a mobile/manufacturer home those are basically my top 5 reasons as well. But, for me I think the no climbing stairs is #1 on my list my 57 years old knees are already tired just thinking about it!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is my plan when I retire next year. A family member in the south is selling me a trailer and two acres of land for an unbelievable price. I always wanted to own land and the trailer, a single wide is nice and has all of the amenities I want. I’m so excited!

And they are cute-the small one i lived in. I was out west so no tornadoes so ill build a storm shelter since i worry. Great idea & you make many great points.

You have a beautiful place. They don’t build ranch style homes any longer because it less expensive to build a two story…. Takes up less land…😊

You get whatever your money can pay for. If you have money to buy a home with all large areas/rooms & spaces, how many acres of land you like, and whatever type of home stick, manufactured, or modular new or used, single level (like ranch, cottage styles).

Thank you for the video. I'm seriously considering getting a mobile home and purchasing some land as well. It's just me for right now, but I need space, as well. A 2 bed 2 bath condo right now starts at $220k - $250k, depending on the location and the amenities, with a high HOA. Any condo under $200k needs updates. I've seen some single homes being built, but it's in a development filled with $500k townhomes and $300k condos. 🤦🏽‍♀️

We pay rent for the lot .. it's the cheapest around.. $150 most are around 3 to 5 hundred dollars a month for the lot 😅 that's more than the home itself!!!! We have lots of space. Our park is clean and decent.... no nonsense here because the lot owner absolutely has rules... so glad she does.

All the new homes here in Palm Beach County Florida, are two story. Why? Because the lot sizes are very small and typically offer only postage stamp front-yards and very small backyards. They are really detached townhomes. Two stories gives you double square footage on 1/2 the land…

All the reasons mentioned are in my head as well. Who is responsible for repair cost if in a community? Does that depend on your association and what's the longevity on the structure staying strong. Is it the same as a single family home? I'm new to this but am so very interested. I just drove through a development today and couldn't believe the variety of styles that exist! Your reasons are the same as mine. I felt like something was wrong with me. Everybody is flocking to these new subdivisions. You don't have a yard, and you have to look at your neighbors. Everybody doesn't get alone. I want space, land, and privacy.

Forgot to add, no for some reason they are not building affordable one story. My 78 yr old mom bought townhouse because no one story condos where we live and 6 months later shattered her hip so yea bad idea😩

So glad that I seen your post because I've been going back and forth with myself about getting a manufactured home. It is a bit more expensive than it use to be, but I'm for sure thinking about going this route. If it's not to personal how was it for your closing cost was it really expensive.

Very valid points, but some of these mobile park homes in Florida have an HOA and a Lot rent fee, unless thats an error by the listing agent. Thank you for your time.

A small homestead is what I am going for. We are a family of 4 in WA state (Seattle) and moving back south where the cost of living is much better. Currently hubby and I are both independent contractors So we can move our family anywhere. I have been looking at Facebook market place for a mobile home and land. Hello❤..That’s what Me & My Husband did as well. We brought Ours Brand New whenever our Kids was small/growing up. Every Mark or anything that’s in our home is from our 3 children as they were growing up. We know that they put it there or me or my husband😂 put it there. The way prices are now on building homes. A modular home is a best way to go right about now. They are way cheaper. The five reason that you ended up buying one was mainly give or take are the reason why we bought one. Now everyone has moved out except for one and that’s our baby son and he’s looking at purchasing him one now as well. Home & land is now paid for.. whenever they see our home they can’t believe it’s still In the shape it is in. It’s called maintenance tender-loving care🥰He did all of the maintenance /besides my Decorr touch. It’s in very good shape. So yes ma’am great choice. TFS❤many blessings to you.❤❤❤

I’ve lived in all three: mobile home, one story home, three level townhome. I’m in the TH now. I don’t want to mow lawns, remove snow, etc. I always wanted a house with stairs. I’m in my 60s, but plan to grow older here. The stairs keep my legs strong which is necessary for growing older. No matter how lazy I get, I still get exercise going up and down the stairs. I can always buy a stairlift. Mobile homes are great, but only if you buy the way you have with getting your own land. My major problem with Mobiles homes was the possibilities of tornadoes. There was no place to go that would be safe. If I had my own land, I would have built a storm shelter.

I have looked at a lot of mobile homes and they are beautiful. It is just in my area, the mobile home parks are not the nicest. Your home is beautiful.

Everything is so high! I want a home so bad 😔! But my income is not matching up with the market! I'm tired of living in this tiny apartment. And my neighbor tried to set the apartment complex on fire! I woke up this Saturday to smoke and fumes in my apartment because she burned up something. Thank God she didn't kill us, but I'm fed up. My daughter and I are crowding each other.

Buying a mobile home can be a good home to live in. A couple questions I would need to ask are do you own the land this home is going on? I lived in a mobile in a park for 20 + years and can say it can be a good way to go. I did go for an existing home in a new town. My Mobile was NOT in good shape anymore and I am not a carpenter. The man I was going to have work on it died. I could have had a brand-new home put in on my lot. But I would still be in a park. $550/month for lot rent and up every year. Not complaining but I decided to get out. My park wasn't bad, but they can be as bad as an HOA. I have never once heard anything GOOD about an HOA. And if buying brand-new, be sure you know WHAT you are buying. For instance, the floors will most likely be either particle board or chip board as opposed to proper plywood. Not a problem until you have a plumbing problem. Or maybe a waterbed that springs a leak. Wildlife can also be trouble I had mice, and squirrels eating my mobile. Of course that can be said of stick built too. I think I am the only person I know that has never lived in an apartment.

We live in a huge 5 bedroom house built in 2010 in the suburbs. It’s nice but too much for us. We are selling and buying with cash a 1985 double wide and 12 acres. We can be debt free and the taxes are $2000 lower.

I am a 52 year old, disabled veteran and I have been looking at mobile home and 40 acres of land for a while now. I don't want neighbors, and I don't want stairs. Moreover, I want a garden, I do want chickens for meat and eggs. I did fall in love with this property that had a steam running in the backyard. However, it was sold and then I realized that I can get a mobile home and customized it to my need and wants. I want and need to make my life as simple as possible. I don't know why I want a triple wide. I guess I to just want that space.

I am in the process of looking for a mobile modular home land package. This video touches on a lot of important things. I feel what you are saying. I will be 50 next month. I myself think about the future a lot. I have grandchildren that I would like to come over and run around in the yard. If I live to see retirement I don't want to be paying a mortgage after 65 or 67 years of age. I like space in some areas of a home. I also want land. I like nature. So I would like to plant vegetables and have a few chickens and goats. Climbing stairs is a bit too much for me also. I need to save the knees. I feel ya on everything you are saying. Great video. The prices os conventional houses and apartments are shrinking in spaces and surmounting in peices.

They are havibg sooooooo many problems with brand new homes from shoddy builders. I mean MAJOR problems! Modular homes have gotten really pricey so i am at manufactured homes or a 1200 sq ft barndo
