As fellow S197 V6 owner these Mustangs have so much amazing potential if your willing to spend money and love on them for example if you want more faster performance from these 4.0s is not the engine is the transmission/drive train you need to look at. Just swap from that weak 7.5 to a 8.8 or 9 inch ford rear end axle, a Eaton TrueTrac differential with 4:11 gears, a TCI Super street fighter high stall torque converter, an upgraded flexplate, and a 1 piece aluminum drive shaft to push that 4.0 engine from 112mph to 145mph or better top speed, then finish the build with a x pipe true dual exhaust conversion to use a Mustang GT cat back exhaust and personally go with the Borla S Type and boom you’ll feel like it’s fast as a GT but with V6 fuel economy, maintenance cost, and dependability benefits as long as you just keep the 4.0 naturally aspirated and keep the tunes on 87 octane till is time for a Coyote 5.0 swap.

I've always been a Japanese guy, but like man there's so many 4.0 V6 stangs in my area that are CLEAN and only like 5-6k I feel like that's honestly pretty good for my first "cool" car and they seem like a fun platform to build on
They’re a great entry level car for sure. I personally wouldn’t throw any money at it performance wise other than exhaust, but there’s tons of cosmetic modifications you can do to make it stand out 🤘🏻
@SVTEvan no definitely not haha if you were gonna do performance mods for the same amount of money you could prob get a pretty good ecoboost. If I can't find a decent g35 or TL-S I might grab one of these.
I want an ecoboost. Why? Cause no one want them. And since I'm more inclined to imports i might as well piss everyone off😏. An ecoboost jdm tuner style. Still 300hp stock. So it could be the next silvia in the future when they get 20years old.
