THE DENTAA SHOW | SEASON 4 | EPISODE 1| #UPCLOSEandPERSONAL
Kwame Nsiah Apau aka OKYEAME kwame was born in Kumasi, Ashanti Region of Ghana. He is the third of six siblings. His two younger brothers, Kwaku Nsiah Boamah nicknamed "Flowking Stone" and Kwaku Nsiah Amankwah nicknamed "Kunta Kinte", also perform nowadays as the hiplife duo "Bradez". His parents expected him to become a physician, yet he gained interest in rap music from a very young age, having written his own songs and performed in local shows ever since he attended the Anglican Senior High School in Kumasi. He later attended Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he studied music and specialized in classical guitar, later graduated as a linguist. He holds a master's degree in Marketing Strategy at the University of Ghana Business School.. Today on the Dentaa Show, he talks about; why he came back home from America, how he had to lie to his Dad to pursue his career, why he is very faithful to his wife, even though he had the perfect chance to cheat in London, how he came back to Ghana with nothin, his split from okyeame kofi was mutual and why he thought he'd be better off in America...

What he said about having a change of perspective of Ghana after living abroad is so true. I remember not liking the red sand, the charcoal, the natural sheabutter and black soap, the houses... But after living in Europe for a couple of years the excitement and wonderness has vanished and i now watch Ghanaian vlogs, listen to old school Ghanaian music and follow regular Ghanaians on instagram and appreciate the motherland so much, and i'm 20 years old. One of my prayers is that Ghana and the sub saharan continent becomes economically independent without losing our roots so that when the Africans go abroad, it's just for travelling and not because they're running away from poverty or looking for a better life. Amen.

Oh wow. You explained what we are all going through (or have gone through) so well! It's about perception and the proper perception or a pro-African perception should be taught in schools in Africa.
@evemason3456

Sorry - I meant that African people can be taught from childhood to have a perception that encourages a love of Africa.

Nice dream, but on whose shoulders does that burden rest on? Who should work on making their country habitable while his peers leave to find greener pasture? Prayers can only go so far.
@ederlinerosenberg6813
@ederlinerosenberg6813 4 года назад
@@_sol.invictus__ I would say all of us. Those in Ghana who know better and those of us abroad. Starting even a small business in Ghana will help. It will lead to if not anything employment of at least a few people and maybe serve as an inspiration for Ghanaians abroad who think starting a business in Ghana is a far fetched idea to know that it's possible. Just like how Hamamat has inspired me with her shea butter business.

As I always say 'Ghanaian skin is dark and lovely!' Kwame Nsiah Apau makes me so proud to be a Ghanaian, even though I am Nigerian (my background) and I have never been to Ghana. I know that doesn't make sense but I have to put my pride with whoever makes me feel proud. His perspective is so correct. He is so wise, shrewd and intelligent. He has such a deep understanding of what the people need. I want to hail him and celebrate him. I feel gratitude for his wise words. I have never been so satisfied with an interview. Thank you for this amazing interview!

GREETING Nana Dantaa; My dear Sistha, Just a note to think you much for your words of wisdom on the Africanization of Africa, and those in the diaspora. I’m one of those early pioneer of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s days (1965 to 1976) and author of; "MY SANKOFA” which was a BORN AGAIN EXPERIENCES, for me… Which is now available in PAPERBACK books via Amazon POD. See Amazon for details; Now concerning COVID-19: time has allowed me to reflect on the fact's that my part in the struggle for freedom (for all) as a VFW, & PAN-AFRICANIST wasn’t in vain, with the emerging of young people like you, which I am honor to support in anyway, you think I can be of assistance. Now I can Stay Home, Clean-up and be creative while planning ways to take part in the cleaning up of our planet, earth and supporting causes like your’s... Meanwhile let the struggle continue. “My Sankofa” (AND A BORN AGAIN EXPERIENCE) by a professional-artist/craftsman and freelance-photographer: See RU-vid Previews ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FYEyi6fri1Q.html Author of; “MY SANKOFA” which ENABLE me a BORN AGAIN EXPERIENCES. See details: www.amazon.com/Curtis-James-Morrow/e/B074TWSKKW/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_1 *************** Bottomline: African American like Black Africans in Africa, has been regulated to hustling for their daily bread; leaving little interest in reaching out to other Africans in the diaspora while using the old “Blame-game” as excuses for not living up to promises made to their ancestors in their motherland; Let’s face it Africans living abroad is much better off then when living in Africa. While being divided and controled, via; laws & treatied devised by their oppressors.

The fact that Ghanaian children are being taught Mandarin and Chinese at school is worrying. Why are they being taught the language of their would-be colonisers? French I can understand because there will be African french speakers that they may come into contact within their everyday lives but Mandarin/Chinese? The Chinese government does not mode well for the continent of Africa and the quicker grassroots Ghanaians realise that the better.
