Why I cannot recommend the Graphite Milanese Loop for the Apple Watch

Hello and welcome! Thank you to all my 90 subscribers, we are so close to that magic number of 100!!
Today I show why the Graphite Milanese Loop band for the Apple Watch made by Apple is no good. It could just be mine but every time I flex my wrist the magnet slides around and the Watch becomes loose.
This tendency of the band to become loose is highly annoying to me as I like my Watch to be tight on my wrist. Oh well I guess I will have to go back to a regular band 😔

Try wearing the watch above the wrist bone. It’s more comfortable generally, give a tighter fit, and would eliminate the issue of it slipping. It might feel strange at first, but you’ll get used to it in a few days!

It does help, when wearing it above the wrist bone it doesn’t slip near as much but I personally don’t like the feeling. I like to wear my watch between my wrist bone and my hand.
@akghare
@akghare Год назад
Also, give it try wearing the other way so magnet part of the loop is not going down (in contact with table). If you wear it the opposite way there won’t be any contact of the magnet in any way.
@ourfamilyadventure326
@ourfamilyadventure326 Год назад
@@akghare I appreciate your thoughts but turning the band around does not help with the situation I am having. When my wrist flexes it still loses grip and slips. I think the problem is that the band is coated with a color and the magnet cannot grip the metal as strongly as it would with a non-colored band (is my assumption). Thank you for the comment!

Over time magnets do get weaker, but here is a tip if your Apple Watch Milanese loop magnet gets weaker . Go buy a strong magnet or if you have one laying around then that would be perfect, and go ahead and rub the magnet against the magnet part of the band in linear strokes for about 15 minutes and it should realign the domains of the weaker magnet there by making the magnet stronger. hope this helps you save money instead of buying a brand new band.
@ourfamilyadventure326
@ourfamilyadventure326 5 месяцев назад
Thank you so much for the tips! I did want to change the magnet, that was my first thought but the problem is the magnet is so thin and such a small piece that I cannot find something to match it. I could try rubbing it as you suggest and see if that makes any difference at all. Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to comment, have a blessed day.

just got a similar strap for my galaxy watch 4. I'm an engineering grad so I noticed that the problem is the perforations in the band combined with the smoothness of the metal buckle and puffs of air causes it to slowly loosen throughout the day (kinda like an air hockey table puck sliding aronund). The solution was simple: create friction on the buckle. What I did was apply a few (8-10) tiny dots of hot glue / super glue on the magnetic bit (pinhead sized) and let it dry. The bumps created by that causes it to grip onto the perforations of the strap. And because cyanoacrylate is softer than stainless steel, you shouldn't see any scratches either.

Thank you!!!!! I was starting to think I was crazy or something saying that my buckle was slipping. I will have to explore more fully what you said about adding some friction to it, if that works I will be happy 😊

I have the same problems as in the video. I have the silver Milanese Loop, installed on a stainless steel Series 6 and have used it now for a couple of years since the Series 6 first came out. The band does the same things as in the video. It was somewhat better in my first year of its use, but now the constant slippage is really annoying. I am ready to get a different band. I suspect that the design of the band coupled with wrist motion results in the slippage. I have thought of some other possible causes: (1) skin oil buildup over the magnet and especially over the mesh links of the band itself-but I’ve tried various cleaning methods and so far, cleaning has not made a difference (I have not used an actual metal cleaner product yet.). (2) the magnetic strength may be weakening, making the product worse with the passage of time.

Thank you! I have thought the same things, but knowing it is not just me is a relief. I am actually in the testing phase of the Alpine Loop band and it works really well if you want to try that. Thank you for watching and commenting and Merry Christmas Eve!

Wear it higher. After watching I noticed it is the movement if your hand causing the band to slip.😃

if you change the band opposide down, the wrist will not loosen anymore. physics bend in then. i use the same band but oppsoide, and it holds pretty good like this. Try it out

Not my favourite band. I have only worn it 1 full day in almost the year owning it, but it didn’t loosen at all. Perhaps it is a weaker magnet and being heavier causing the problem. It looks amazing with the graphite stainless steel watch.

I am glad yours is nice and tight, perhaps I got a faulty magnet or something. I have worn it everyday since I bought it and even still. I am still having the same issue and it seems to be getting worse. I really like the way it looks with the watch, you are right about that.

... There's nothing wrong with the band, you're not wearing the watch right. That is not where you wear a watch, my friend. It supposed to be above that, on your wrist.

Easy. Noticed it right away, you have your watch too close to your "bending" area of your wrist. The watch should sit on the other side before that potruding bone.

You wearing it wrong. The watches were never intended to be worn on a wrist joint, they're meant to be worn on the wrist itself. Move the watch lower and you won't have this issue.

@ourfamilyadventure326
@ourfamilyadventure326 Год назад
Thank you for watching and commenting! How does “wearing it right” fix a broken piece? The magnet is super weak and it slides even if I do “wear it right”. Apple used a weak magnet that slips on this band, as I said in the video it could be because it is graphite and has a coating on it.
