A friendly chat about the reasons I chose Betty and all the features I like about the Hymer Aktiv 1.0 campervan . . .
Specifically, the layout, the Eco Trek system including the lithium batteries, solar panels, underhood generator [aka] GU and Voltstart . . .
The bathroom, cassette toilet, large water tanks and Truma Combi heat and hot water system . . .
Clean, neutral fluid styling with a European flair and light bright interior is accentuated with really good air flow via the skylight, awning style windows and fans . . .

Thanks so much for this. I've watched several of your videos and have gotten a lot of value from them! I have an Aktiv 2.0 on order, due to pick it up mid-October. Planning to use it with my daughter and also alone.....and it might become a full time endeavor :) I'm really excited and apprehensive at the same time. There's so much to learn and be aware of. Videos like yours really help. I especially appreciated your video on the cassette toilet. Good to hear it talked about so positively!

Watching almost four years later and no one could have predicted how things have changed. How the camper van market would explode. We have been researching for a few weeks but long enough to become pretty frustrated. Labor shortages, supply chain issues, lack of quality control. You were lucky to buy before the world turned upside down. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. So much more challenging when there are two people with different needs. Take care!

You have good information and back up your opinions by describing what's important to you. It helps to sort out what might fit for me and what might not. Your voice is soothing and easy to listen to. I just LOVE your vids! Thank you. I have a 2018 Aktiv, in Vancouver BC. Already have 22000 kms on Stella. Question for you, what model is our Carefree awning? I have no power to it. Fuses fine.... thanks again, I’m amazed at your cheerful competence.

I've just discovered your videos this evening and have been watching them back to back! Very helpful, thanks. I just ordered an Activ 1.0 today and will be picking it up on October 17th. Very excited! Many trips will be with my husband but most will be with just me and my 2 pups. I enjoyed your solo video... as women traveling solo, we can never be to cautious.

How is the small bench seat on a long ride? Is It comfortable?

Hi XRP - you're timing with this question is spot on because yesterday was the first time I sat on it while someone else drove. It was fine for my short 2hr stint, but for a really long drive I would probably end up stretching my legs out on a bag or stool for comfort. I also used my travel pillow behind my lower back which made a big difference in altering the angle of my body - the back on that seat tends to be pretty straight. I found it more comfortable than a couple of car seats I've ridden in, but not as comfortable as the front seats in the Ativ itself.

Great video. I’m glad that you are liking Aktiv. Could you elaborate on why you chose Aktiv over say, Aktiv 2, which is about a foot longer. Have you experienced situations where this one foot less is important? The only thing I can think of is parallel parking where longer Aktiv 2 may not fit, but parallel parking this van is already daunting enough, so I doubt, people try to do it often. Look forward to hear your opinion.

Dima the length was VERY important to me. My experience test driving the longer promaster models was that I was not as comfortable maneuvering them and parking in a regular space was not an option.
