I was born in Calgary but moved to Toronto when I was young. Now that I’m a single adult living on her own I’ve definitely been thinking about moving back to Calgary. The more videos I watch the more excited I get 😊

The job market is difficult here but so worth it. We love Calgary. If you want the perfect blend of Urban life with Mountain nature it is great. Also housing is relatively affordable compared to other urban centres in Canada. The weather is actually great, it's not that cold. The Chinooks are crazy...I've been going to SAIT and it got to over 12C in January.
Most awesome video again. I love how you added an Indigenous fact and hopefully Calgary will become Silicone valley of the north. I moved here from the Ottawa Valley (Deep River) many moons ago. There is more to Alberta than oil and gas. Farming, filming, tourism, and the new forms of energy development. Keep up the good work.

You are not alone. I see so many Ontario plates here in Calgary lately and the number is growing. However I can't tell why this is becoming a trend though.
Hey did you end up moving your stuff there? We're also looking into moving there from Quebec and we're not sure it's worth moving it instead of just selling and buying back (the latter could be a little more costly)
Enjoyed the video and totally agree with you. I moved here from another country in July 2020 despite of hearing many negative things about the city. Overall I don't regret my decision.

We moved from Vancouver Island to Calgary. Its a huge shock getting the amount of sunshine we get here. Winter isn't as cold as people from BC make it out to be. Also we pay the same as a small apartment in Victoria, and have a house with a yard...our quality life is so much higher.
Moved from the UK to St John's(NL) in January for work. Experiencing social isolation at the moment, Newfoundland is beautiful but not for me especially coming from a vibrant city in UK. I have been contemplating between moving to Ontario or Alberta. My mind is set now, my family and I will be coming down to Galgary. At the moment I am tied down to a 2 year contract with my current employer. Thanks for the video - see ya’ll in Galgary in 2 years time!!
Congrats moving over! And I'm sorry you're experiencing social isolation - it can be tough at times, I've been there - it does get better, believe me. I'd suggest visiting Calgary/Toronto/Vancouver before you make your decision. Affordability Calgary def top the "major" Canadian cities, but don't rule out the others just yet - they got their own spark. Thank you tho, wish you all the best.
I’m thinking of getting a furnished place in Calgary and staying there all winter for Banff 😊 plus I really need to get out of Ontario.. rent won’t stop going up!!

Quick question: in another video on Calgary neighborhoods where you mentioned NW SW SE and NE, are the condos concentrated in downtown or there are condos (mid-rise and high rise) in neighborhoods like Brentwood, Hillhurst, etc. Are Calgary downtown and Mississauga comparable in terms of urban planning? Toronto born and raised and recently got a well paying tech job in Calgary. Looking to make the move later in the year (Remote right now). Affordability aside , Calgary seems like a wonderful place to live. If I didn't already have an established life in Toronto, I would not hesitate to move to Calgary. I still don't know about the long term prospects of living there though. From one Toronto mans to another , do you see yourself establishing your new life there?

@@FrankHuynh I used to, but I left Canada long ago. I just saw that in an ad last year. In reality, it is the property that is worth lots of money, not the building. When I left Vancouver it was common for rich immigrants to tear down perfectly good houses then rebuild what they wanted. I don't know if that is still happening but it wouldn't surprise me.
Honestly, Calgary is a wonderful city. I have been born and raised here, it is incredibly clean, lots of great amenities, and so close to the mountains. The only thing I haven't been a fan of is the politics, but as more Vancouverites and Torontonians move here I'm hoping that changes.
I agree, Skip. No knock on the city itself, it's wonderful with the mountain accessibility -- it would honestly be the best city in North American (without the cold weather and the politics!)
So you see that Calgary's politics are ones you don't like, but the city is amazing, don't you think maybe Calgary is as good as it is because of it's politics? Also, people from Toronto and Vancouver aren't coming there, and I would like it to remain this way.

$500k for 500 SQ. Ft.? My god. Calgary has a geographic advantage. Housing, though expensive compared to a decade ago, is still reachable even if one has decent income and your spouse is working minimum wage. In BC even two young professionals can be struggling to get into your basic single detached house.
Calgary is a way better looking than Edmonton for sure. I've visited there couple times but Toronto beats them all so much more to offer better food scene beautiful lakes .Calgary seem to try hard to be like Toronto .the city is dead after 7pm the only thing that saved it is the Rockies..
Do you think it’s good place for young people? I really want to move there but everyone makes it seem depressing! I’m not a party girl but I also want to live in a lively city!
@@Ella-ce9pp i went to montreal roughly 7 years ago i don't have much of a memory of it but it looks and seems more like a city in france than canada. You do need some french to get around and the language barrier might interfere with social life.

How was the people in Calgary? Do they ever make dirty look to you or do they say anything negative to you? I was thinking moving to Calgary once the pandemic is completely over however, my boss told me is not a really good place to live there cuz Albertans are really racist against asians & yes, I am asian and they like to pick on people fighting. If you do have a job in Calgary, let me know how they treat you
I am Asian and this city is way more diverse then the cowboy image on the stampede pamphlet. In the corporate world and the universities here you are constantly interacting with different races and people are super friendly to each other. None of my friends or relatives have ever mentioned even in passing they are treated unfairly because of race.

As i truck driver i seen all canadian and US cities... To mee Calgary is a good city with a good ppl... im from Gta and will be leaving this overpriced mess soon... Calgary has less jobs but has some soul and good vibes that u feel when you r there..to me thats like a Nashville TN of Canada!!! Ontario is now big circus with too many idiots playing gangsters and its getting worse...in ON you need to live 9 lives like a cat too buy some place under the sun .Thx God for makeing Alberta ! :) Wery soon ppl will be leaveing Ontario same like a ppl leaving California lately .. Yes move to calgary. Im in vancouver and its turning into a hell world with traffic and cost of living. Vancouver is over rated and over priced i personally dont get the appeal. Im a plumber that spends everyday fixing garbage condos here in bc. You do not want to invest your hard earned money into a piece of shit condo in bc that will flood in two years.
