I so needed to hear this. Having rough moments makes it much harder to find peace, even during meditation. But listening to you, no one can deny that you radiate this peaceful energy. And I hope one day to get to that place with peace in the presence here and now.
Joseph, we love you too ❤ Thank you so so much for your work and your existence. You know what, I have been reading so many books and listening to numerous podcasts to find out the answer but I was still struggled, I know the theories but I can't apply them to my life which include Thich Nhat Hanh's, another Buddhism's, self-help and psychology stuff, etc. But tonight, I've just listened to your book - Don't believe everything you think, it hit hard, I think my life has changed from now on. You write every complicated theory in a very simple and clear and practical way. You're super, Joseph! Also I love your voice, it's clear, calm, friendly, loving and pleasant to listen to. Please let us know if you have a chance to come to Sydney, there is a huge fan here 🥰 Thank you again.
Seriously i love you, all i think with my anxiety i tend to forget that its just my thoughts makes me anxious and feel down... But you always helo me to remember! I tried everything like you did meditation, acupuncture, massages, psychologist they did help me but still i felt like something isn't right its still there maybe not as bad but still is and i watch your video and its just click to me, i was mind blown🤯 we all know this like you said we just tend to forget we need a reminder! Thank you for you! You amazing do what you!
I love you too Sandra! I’m so grateful you feel that way and that it has clicked for you. You will have this knowledge forever now. Keep sharing your love and light!
i've read a handful of books and listen to all kinds of self-help material on youtube, etc, and have done meditation and breathwork on again and off again for years. i've even tried psychedelics, which gave me a newfound perspective on spirituality and eternity. it peeled back the illusion of "civilized" living that's separates humanity from the rawness of nature. but those experiences, like the retreat joseph attended, are transient and mainly localized to a window of time. i never encountered a practical explanation for what to do with intrusive thoughts right in the moment that actually made sense.... for some reason "observe it and let it pass" just never clicked for me. i guess i didn't have the framework for it because i didn't understand why or how that's supposed to help. joseph explains it so well and simply in his book that it pretty much blows my mind how so many people including myself have missed it for so long. after finishing joseph's book earlier today, i have already used his concept to reject a handful of habitual repetitive thought patterns that tried to kick into their usual loops tonight - and in order to reject them, i first had to notice them. i noticed them way more easily than i ever noticed them before. usually, i catch myself 10 minutes into a negative thought pattern with my mind chugging along while anxiety presses on my solar plexus. but for these, i caught them coming on. and it felt great to feel anxiety attempt to mount pressure and then suddenly evaporate on command. i don't expect my life to be suddenly perfect, but this is a brand new way to deal with unwelcome thoughts that will greatly enhance my quality of life and mental health
That what Dr Joe teaches. It’s what you do outside of the meditation. Learning to let go of those old programs. I appreciate what you teach which has helped me to differentiate between thinking and thoughts. I still meditate daily.
It definitely always comes back and that’s why I’m so happy I read this book and realized it was just the dwelling and thinking about my thoughts that caused the suffering
Great video. I agree completely. After meditating for 10 years I am now meditation-free and experiencing more peace throughout my day. The only active practice I engage in now is to remember often to surrender and accept fully the present moment.
Hi guys. If u guys come to this country of mine called Bhutan and try to learn some religious practices, it's almost in every religious text of Buddha that says the exact same thing what @joseph is trying to say. "Our mind is the root cause of our suffering" "You need to be in this present moment" "Taming your mind" I have heard it since I was a kid yet it didn't make sense, those were just words to me then. Now it resonates with me. Now I have understood it better and I thank Joseph for it. It was a great reminder and understanding. I am not here to tell you to follow our religion, I am just saying it's been said and people who tried it do recommend being in that state so it must hold some truth. Follow your own religion, believe what u believe and do what resonates with you. Good day
for some reason, those phrases never meant much to me, either. they sound good, but they're not instructive at all. joseph somehow figured it out and explained it so clearly
Am happy to say this is the first book i read and completed today with interest and felt connected to all wht the you are talking about abt looked for to read ❤ i really loved the simplicity yet very connecting way of writing and explaining in stories 🌸🧘🏻♀️
Very helpful! I need to read your book again. I read so many spiritual books but still can’t stop thinking and feeling negative emotions. How do you stop thinking? You just decide to? Hope you make a video to address this universal challenge to many of us. Thanks! 🙏
Hi, I’m grateful the video was helpful. Yes it is as simple is deciding to and isn’t more complicated. I also have a video here that explains it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rioowBEIRp0.html I explain the process in almost every video.
Joseph, i bought ur book. read it and reasonated with it. but im here to say something else. I think you are not optimising ur youtube videos enough. you have been posting consistently but ur videos are not picked up by the algo. do some SEO on your vids bro. ppl need to hear ur message
Here to attest to that! Looking at the side of my screen at vidiq analytics and you could definitely get your videos in front of more people. Because. MORE. People. Need to listen to you! :)
