It's a real thing. Some people get fungus infection on their toe nails and it is really important to treat them as soon as possible so their feet can heal properly . For this lady she just had a himatoma that can usually grow out over time, but medical pedicure can make sure that their toe with himatoma is growing out normally and is not getting infected or anything like that.

Yes, unfortunately though a lot of nail salons are iffy on sanitation. They tend to re-use equiptment that is considered a one-time-use product. They may also not clean out foot baths properly. I'm not saying all of them are like that, but there are a lot that are. I would say this woman i paying the higher pricetag so she can have piece of mind. Since she is already dealing with a foot condition, and we dont know if she has anything else that would make her more concerned like diabetes for example, I'd say she is worried about possible infections.

A medical pedicure is clearly as it states. It’s ‘Medical’. It’s for people that have certain conditions like fungus in their nails just like the woman in the video. They have special medical products to be able to treat it. While in a regular salon they don’t usually have those kind of products or tools to treat certain kinds of nails that have problems that only a doctor can treat. Not a beautician/spa therapist. I know this because I am a spa therapist and if a client comes in with a contagious nail condition we have to turn them away because of the risk of us catching it and we don’t have medical products to treat such conditions. They would need to see a specialist when it comes to treating such conditions like a fungus, bacterial infection etc.

Once you get fungus, ingrown nail or other difficult cases - that's the case for podiatrist. All these creams, massage and all that is more like spa, than medicine. Given the fact that the left hallucal nail most likely has contracted fungus from nail injury/ nail plate injury, its recommended to prescribe antifungal nail solution as opposed to covering it with a nail polish. Tea tree oil doesn't moisturize, it actually dries out the nail and skin and is a homeopathic treatment for fungus and excessive sweating. That thick fungal nail could and should have been debulked from the top to relieve pressure on nail bed by using nail nippers .

It doesn't hurt much since it's already dead and detached. I suggest you clean it regularly, get it loose then clipped it. It will grow back but still weak, try oils and stuff for your nails.

I didn't know about this until now . Last year I injured my same left big toe nail and I went to the doctor and they removed my nail completely ,it's just so painful before the removal🤪😒 yes it really took a year to grow.

I've lost a total of 4 nails. 1st, right big toe got jammed in a closed door and flew straight off. 2nd, left big toe had something happen to it and just decided to cut off and grow out with a new nail, no discolouration, no obvious cause. 3rd and 4th, both my little toe nails were badly damaged from hiking in Wales, they kept on hitting the side of my boot and decided to cling on until I got back to England. I even told one of the guides they were coming off (I was 17), and she just nonchalantly replied "Yeah, they'll do that".

I live in the USA, I don’t know of any podiatrist that gives this treatment like a nail technician. Many in my area don’t even trim nails anymore. As a professional foot care nurse,we would try to see if the nail is lifted and then trim it off and use an electric file to smooth it out.

I don't have sick toenails, just the smaller toe keeps falling off due to knocking or botched cutting (by myself).

I think they mean the actual Instruments used, cause you wouldn't want an unsanitized one cutting or nipping and drawing blood. Some petals in the water aren't gonna do much damage.

Is the same nail polish going to be used on other customers? Did they use a disposable nail wand for the infected nail? I wish that was included in the video

I was expecting them to remove the part that looked lifted. The ToeBro has offers medical pedicures but they rebuild nails for patients who’ve lost all or a portion of the nail.

Oh dear, they should try Foot Spa in the Philippines, its amazing. All callus will be remove, they will massage your calves and feet, then moisturise your feet then pedicure last.

I'm a hundred percent for this especially for people with foot issues or fungus. Don't go to the nail salon because you aren't getting the true care you need and you may be spreading fungus to others.
