Good luck man. I live a completely different lifestyle, but I respect what you do. Maybe just take it as a life lesson. That anyone who's different, that you might not agree with still deserves respect and the right be who they are (as long as it's not hurting anyone). It might sound corny but it's a huge life lesson and skill to be tolerant of others choices even if you don't agree. Edit: I mean that I think they weren't respectful of your choices and I think treated the situation poorly. Hopefully you can be better from it more than they could.
I'm glad you're doing your own thing. I also think it's weird that your roommate told you that he wouldn't get into navy school because you eat organ meat. Sounded like an excuse to me but sometimes when you are genuinely you, the real you, it involves losing others not on your journey.
