I do plan on continuing to post Disney content and I do have quite a bit lined up for y'all so it isn't going anywhere! It will just be a little different. Thank you for all the comments and DM's, I'm so happy to help and if anyone has any questions please continue to do so! I will answer you as soon as I can. I will be posting my fitness videos on Wednesdays and Disney on Fridays (hopefully) if not, Saturdays, so make sure to subscribe!
I will see y'all real soon!

I'm sorry you had to go through this. I start my disneyland traditions on June 18th. I'm also a full time college student. And got accepted for a part time role. I live about 12 min away from the parks. And I'm hoping everything will work out. I also currently don't have my license but I have my permit and am working towards taking my behind the wheel test.

If you live 12 minutes away then you will be fine! Just make sure to submit your availability as soon as you can to ensure no scheduling conflicts with your school schedule and you should be all set! Congrats!

@@desiregarza6926 Yup school starts back up in August so I'll make sure to keep that in mind and inform them of my availability when school starts back up. Thank you!

Oh wow, now I'm a little concerned about starting next week. lol I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and definitely commend you for putting yourself first!
@desiregarza6926
@desiregarza6926 2 года назад
In my experience, I have had some incredible leaders and coworkers who completely understood the gravity of panic attacks and would work quickly to help me get off stage if I was ever in need and in some cases if they were well-staffed enough, let me go home early. It always depends on where you get placed and who you get placed there with, but I’m sure you’ll find someone who is understanding and able to assist. If you try that out and find out that it’s not for you then at least you gave it a chance!

Hi there! Thanks for putting this video out there! My daughter and I are starting at Disneyland in one month. Any tips on learning Merchandising role? What shoes did you wear to help your feet with standing?
@desiregarza6926
@desiregarza6926 Год назад
So I bought my shoes from Skechers and they were really comfortable and have lasted me a few years, definitely recommend that. As for merchandise, I would familiarize yourselves with what is currently popular on Disney channel, the kids shows and such, because you’ll get a lot of questions about where certain merchandise of that nature is and it helps to know what they’re asking about

Other than that, retail is a fun opportunity to really get some good interactions with guests so just bring a positive attitude and an openness to learn and you two will do great!

Hi, I just started working for DLR however I have an 1:30 commute and it’s just so far out of reach now. I am considering leaving but I have no idea how to like who should I contact in order to do so? Do you have any tips or guidance? Thanks :)

I would say talk to a lead at your location. They’ll be able to beat help you sort through the process.

What are the start times for weekend shifts? Thanks for sharing
@desiregarza6926
@desiregarza6926 2 года назад
It really depends on your role, the park you work in, and length of your shifts. You could be scheduled any time between being an opener for the park until after the park closes and should be prepared for that.

So do they work with a schedule of another job like if I have an 8 to 5 during the week and disneyland hires me for part time
@desiregarza6926
@desiregarza6926 2 года назад
Honestly that was what I had wanted to do, I think now that it’s not peak times maybe they’ll be more accommodating but in my experience it got way too complicated because they weren’t honoring my availability after I changed it, could’ve been personal error but make sure that’s something you stay on top of for sure!

If you work hotel you may get full time. I ended up getting full time which is crazy because usually one doesn’t get that at Disneyland or so I heard it’s hard to get full time. But hotels always have low staff ratio because it can be super tiring

Disney wants you to put them as your priority job. Been there 7 years. It was fun at the beginning but post covid things changed. It is not the same.

I don’t drive either. You commuted from LA to Anaheim? That’s crazy and super far especially by bus. Wow. Glad you saw it didn’t work out for you. Some jobs just aren’t a good fit depending on where one is in life.

Yeah! It was a wild time for me honestly, now that I have a license I’m working on a car and after that who knows, but for now, commuting 3 hrs there and back just wasn’t cutting it for me, even for the mouse :’(

I'm happy I was hired by disney but I need to quit my job before training. I don't know how to do it, can someone help me?
@desiregarza6926
@desiregarza6926 2 года назад
At traditions you should’ve gotten a little sheet of paper with the numbers of scheduling and for your location. I would call the person who is in charge of your scheduling and ask who you should speak to about it. There might be a section on Cast Life/The Hub as well. Hope that helped!

Can I ask what attractions you worked? I was just hired but I was told that shifts are easy to trade/drop and give to other people… I was hoping to work minimal hours (I’ll be in Adventureland/Frontierland)
@desiregarza6926
@desiregarza6926 2 года назад
I was working Fantasyland Classics, but essentially the first almost month you have what’re called “group” shifts and you’re not allowed to trade those without leader approval. So I had tried to change my availability and they were still scheduling me outside of it and I wasn’t able to get rid of my shifts since they were group shifts if that makes sense. I also got hired during a peak season so maybe it’s a little bit easier now? Either way definitely do it but be very on top of your availability and what you can and can’t do!

I just started working for DLR and I already want to leave too for the same reason. There, Im only get paid gas money because I drive from Fontana to Anaheim. Working part time wont get you a roof in california.
@arnulfovasquez7583
@arnulfovasquez7583 11 месяцев назад
@@ajlorenzana7023I would have first considered the pay and local availability of that pay in my area. For example, if a job in my area pays the same wage as Disneyland, but also provides the same or a similar amount of hours, I would go with the local job. Personally, commuting from Fontana for a minimum wage job, I think, is unreasonable. However, I understand your decision in leaving.
