Varric's hair is darker because he's old now. In DA2 he was at least 30 and in inquisition, he was 40 ish and now he's 50 ish. He's going to start greying and in the comics, he walked directly into a timewarp causing him to rapidly age. Dragon age has never been about combat style and each game has had its critics on it but they kept the style of inquisition and sped it up like DA2 because they actually listened to their feedback. I think people are making a mistake in comparing it to origins because origins came out 15 years ago and gaming as a whole has changed and I think people need to stop shitting themselves over it because they want it to be something like it was 15 years ago in a different engine entirely

What mobile games are you playing?

Man.... I miss the Origins look, and super dark/desperate feel. Hell, I even miss Dragon Age 2's dark stories. I've somehow strangely really soured on Inquisition. I hope Veilguard is not more of the same, but... (sigh)

I don't think you fully understand dragon age or any sort of fantasy RPG's if you think this is light. The story is very dark and very obviously you haven't seen any of the in game screen shots that the devs have posted. Not all areas in origins were dark either aka denerim, the dalish elves camp, orzamar. It was the story that made it seem darker. You also can't compare the veilguard to a game that came out 15 years ago because gaming as a whole has changed a lot and the devs had to adjust to the changing times because they're having to appeal to the older audience from the origins era and to the newer era of people who are just becoming of age and wanting to play.
