Why I'm Building a Lightroom Replacement - Part 1 - Cataloging 

I'm excited! I miss Aperture so much! And yes - I use LR, but I hate it. And there's no other "solution". And I really need a working and usable catalogue. So many photos and I always struggle to find what I'm looking for. So - I'm in and excited to see your solution :)

You had me sold when you said “Adobe” 😂 I am 100% confident that you will not only make a better software than adobe, that’s setting the bar pretty low but one of the best alternatives to LR thanks to your user based approach to designing the software. Keep up the good work. 🔥

Good luck. Would love a good LR replacement. FYI, the title should read "Why I'm Building a Lightroom Replacement - Part 1 - Cataloging." I do like the LR catalog view with certain changes (I turn on the filename and date the photo was shot) compared to just photos all touching like that screenshot you showed. It also helps keep the photos separate from each other which I feel is important (like space between photos in a gallery.) Super excited to see how this advances though. Aputure had some really good features, LR is so clunky and slow, I'd love a replacement.

I would love to see JPG and Raw photos together, kinda like in Apple Photos app. It's so annoying to see duplicated photos. And then when you edit, you could choose which version to modify

Whaaaaaaaattttt man you are out of this world. I do almost only video and use lr only for personal use so I cant help you out with catalog ideas

I have tested RAW Power, Lr Mobile, ON1, Affinity and more... Slight difference in each BUT for me the ONLY thing I require is the BEST highlights and black recovery and noise reduction.... Catalogue not a requirement... And iPad only...

Why are we so good at talking to a camera like this, but terrible when trying to recite our lines?! Anyway, this turned out awesome, I cannot wait to see what you do!

It would be great if I could group continuous shots. For example, in car photography I like to take several pictures of the same shot (because of the headlights etc.) and in the end I have 500 pictures but actually only 50 shots that I want to edit. That's why it would be cool if continuous shots were grouped together to be able to sort out only the best one.

Men, if you pull this out...make sure to include a negative lab pro like plugging...all the analoge photographers will thank you in advance.

I am a pro shooter in Australia. Weddings and commercial. I want fast. Super fast. Fast fast fast !!! I need my machine to keep up with me. I need to go through thousands of photos making initial selections and I only want to spend a fraction of a second on each. Flag the ones I want and then move to the next one where I do not want to wait to load !!!! The more time it takes to load I am wasting up to hours just on selections. Fast !!!! 😂 did I mention I need it fast.

Soooo if so advanced WHY aren't you just developing in iOS and port to iPadOS... LR for iPad is stunning.. I travel FT and threw my laptop away years ago..🙏.. also test Capture One.. there thumbwheel is stunning 😮

The one thing that drives me nuts about Camera Raw and Lightroom is the fact you can’t correct for proper anamorphic de-squeeze. It’s STUPID ANNOYING.
