Here’s why I’m eating dates every day in these last few weeks of pregnancy.
I did the same thing to prep for Olivia’s birth and it seemed to work so I’m doing it again as I prep for baby boy’s labor/delivery. 🤞
Here’s the scoop on eating dates: randomized trials have found that eating dates in late pregnancy may increase cervical ripening, decrease the length of labor, reduce the need for a medical labor induction or augmentation, and one small study found a positive effect on postpartum blood loss.
With Olivia I was 1 cm and 70% effaced at my 39 week appointment. I had her at 40 weeks and 5 days and I arrived to the hospital full dilated. Not sure if it was dates or not but I feel like they must have helped! Plus, so many women have messaged me saying they learned the “date tip” from me back when I was pregnant with Olivia and it worked for them too! 👏
