The Last Samurai Syndrome😂😂 Man when I was in Japan I didn’t hang out with a lot of foreigners for that reason. I’m from America and met several cool Americans, Brits, Aussies etc. but man you are so right. Foreigners get all protective and territorial when they meet another foreigner, like it’s a competition on who knows more about Japan. That shit wore me out.

These people are not "defending" the culture, they are patronising it. The Japanese are more than capable of defending themselves against any youtube video they don't like, but notice how there are NO hate comments about Chris from any actual Japanese people. I'm sure that both Natsuki and Ryoutoro would soon slap him down if he was the type of person these comments claim he is but they don't, which really says everything. Keep the videos coming Chris.

I like the way Chris handles all these negative messages. He does it in a way that he is calm and this really ticks them off.

I love the "I have never lived in Japan, but it's the best place ever and you should respect the Japanese dust on your shoes" type of people.

The sarcastic dry sense of humour is the main reason why I watch this channel.

Hats off to you. I lived there for a year. You are pretty spot on. The fact that you have made it home for 9 years is a testament to your adaptability. The respect is supposed to run two ways. It often doesn’t in Japan.

having lived in japan in my early twenties for a couple of years, i really enjoyed the point of view that you provide of japan. sugoku natsukashii desu. some fan boys/girls don't like to admit that japan isn't all anime rainbows and soft clouds of sweet mochi, but like all countries they have their issues too. i like that you show it impartially and with great humour. i've really enjoyed watching your journey's across japan you've attested to the random nature of the people and monuments that you encounter along the way. i too can relate to the locals that pull you over to give you food items and strange yet interesting places you find when you journey beyond the city centers. so keep the journey's coming!

I don't get how some people can't genuinely understand jokes or sarcasm. When I watch your videos, especially any with Ryotaro or Joey, you can tell you all have a good relationship because of how openly sarcastic and blunt you are with them in a comedic way. The jokes you make too aren't even offensive or even bad, they are cheesy at best and that is why I enjoy your content so much. I learn a lot from your channels and it teaches that there is more to Japan than anime, waifus, and Tokyo. To experience Japan is something of a goal of mine and I think you as a content creator, have given me that. Thanks, Chris!
