Yes, you read the title correctly.
Formula Two is arguably one of the best series on the planet right now, especially for racing. With both the 2021 F1 AND F2 seasons just a few weeks away, I wanted to discuss why I prefer F1 to F2! Yes. Really.

I watch everything F1, F2 and F3 and from the racing, I like F2 the most. Same cars, everyone wants to proove himself and so on. The same in F3. But sometimes, its not only about racing. If I had to choose one series to only watch for ever, its F1. It's the best drivers going to the limit. It's about the teams that put millions on the car developement. It's about the car aswell. I was lucky enough to get tickets for the 2020 Nürburgring Grand Prix (where there was no F2 cars unfortunally) and I didn't followed much of the race because I just sat there and I was happy to see the F1 cars sweeping trough turns 5-7 with 200 km/h. (i literally had tears in my eyes as I heard and saw the cars for the first time, the V6 still sounds like its going to kill your ears btw) It's the fascination for the cars imo. So, in conclusion, F2 is defenitly funnier to watch sometimes, and has two races a weekend, but I am equally exited for qualifying on saturedays as I am for the race itself. I would like to see more real racing in F1 but sometimes it's not everything.

Currently it's often more entertaining watching both F2 and F3, but F1 is still the reason they exist. Plus half the fun of watching F2 for me is to see the up coming F1 prospects, that with the fact the results just don't carry the same weight means I had to go with F1 on the survey of which I preferred. I'm hoping F1 will be a lot closer on the entertainment side more consistently once the 2022 regs and budget cap start to take affect

Cool video: Well presented. :) As a near life-long resident of Indiana, it should come as little surprise that my favorite series is IndyCar (you know; local accessibility & all...). I even owned a house within walking distance of IMS for a decade. I like the mixture of ovals & road/street events, which forces drivers to become well-rounded to succeed. - I also like that I don't have to get up super early or pull an "all-nighter" to watch any of the races live! :D

its a spec series. that's why its super competitive, look at indycar the current car is spec and it has ground effect and it doesn't have Power Steering and in 2018 when the current car started racing they took out tons of downforce and you gotta remember indycar goes to multiple different types of tracks. ovals, street courses, and Road Courses.

I like Formula 1 as it aspire me to study engineering and STEM. Now that I've graduated, I love F1 as they always pushing the boundaries of Science. For me that's the main point of F1, racing come second. Ofc the politics comes last 🙄

A series that has even better racing than F2 is karting. The racing in karting is so incredible close it’s insane so it’s definitely my favourite series (whether that’s British kart championships or European championships they all have really good racing)

ive got a few favourites going from f2 to indycar and gt racing... its great watching the f1 cars go around as fast as they do but but the racing doesnt cut it for me... and all the politics surrounding the sport.

I'm with you I just don't know any of the drivers to get started and get into it again. It was rough when I first get into F1 and didn't know anyone. I find that it's important to have some personal connection to the different drivers to make it matter otherwise it's just a bunch of colored cars racing to win.

On the racing: While yes, F2 driver often do make silly moves, it also needs to be noted that the wheel-to-wheel racing in F2 is miles above that in F1. You get cars driving side by side for whole laps without contact, where in F1 they will crash in about three corners. Some of that is down to aero rules of course, but mostly F2 drivers just have more respect towards the other drivers.

Dope ass video, as much I love formula 1, F2 is a different cup of tea. More and different race winners, sprint races and reverse grids among many other reason f2 is more exciting compared to F1. F1 has become a sport of dominance and I think most of us can agree, it can get quiet boring at times. And of course #announcetheboys

Thank you! You can find any F2/F3 race by going to the F1 archive and choosing the F1 race at the track you want to see the F2 race at, then scrolling down and they should be there - practice, quali and both races!

I think the 2 title favourites for this year's championship are Schwartzmann and Drugovich, both of them now have a year in F2 under their belts and Drugo now has a competitive car, look at what he did with that shitbox that is the MP, and Schwartzmann, well he is the guy that won most races last season and won the FIA 2019 F3 Championship, so i think we're headed for another thrilling season

Yeah youre right last years F2 was a banger and I had the same thoughts. But I have to say that F2 is not my favorite series. atm I am going for Indycar here. The tracks are beautiful, often drama in the Pit lane, no rediculous fast pitstops, they refuel and actually there is a battle for the Win and that not even once during the race. And even that is not always the same guy. Just lovely atm

It's sample, in F1 last few seasons you know almost every race the winner, while on F2 is rare you know who win. And another thing I like more on F2 than F1, is the closing race, not the gap 20 seconds and getting bored :D 😀

F1 is great with some great races. However F2 is AMAZING with the best drivers in the junior series, great races, Alex Jacques as commentator and reverse grid races! F2 is amazing and I’m looking forward to it this year!

Oh and on the commentators: You forgot Alex Brundle, who is essentially Martin Brundle but higher-pitched. Also for all WTF1 fans, Matt occasionally got a gig as race commentator last year. Sadly though, Alex Jacques is not going to do F2 this yearr since he moved on to Channel 4s F1 coverage.
