Birdie, your intelligence is well above average as is your vocabulary. You are an extremely articulate speaker & storyteller. Safe travels to Mount Rainier!
Hi Birdie, you mentioned that you grew up in Texas in an earlier video so I didn’t think anything of it. Your intelligence shows in your ability to describe depression better than I’ve ever heard anyone do it.💜
Did you ever get your window covers fitting correctly? If not I saw a video on RU-vid that showed how to make your own; it was another van dweller (sorry of that isn't the correct PC term, I'm new to researching this life.) Anyhow, I just so happen to have a ton of fabric, including the reflective material, plus I'm a seamstress. So if you're interested let me know and I believe I can make them for you. I would need you to trace the window(s) and send that to me so I can create a pattern. A roll of Dollar Tree wrapping paper would work great. I'm not sure how to do mail things back and forth, and still keep our locations private, but maybe you do.
Birdie, there's no way you are below average. Believe me, you are still WAY above average! You have so many talents and skills that reveal your high intelligence!
Birdie, you always sound intelligent when explaining things or telling us about where you are adventuring at the moment, your voice is delightful as well. Hugs
Sweet Birdie, Excuse me, come again……. Honey, let me tell ya something, I am a life long southern girl, highly educated and damn proud of it! I say y’all, honey, darlin’, suga and all the other things southern women say in their day to day lives. Southern women are fiercely loyal, kind, gracious, honest & true! Show me a southern woman and I’ll show you a pillar of strength….I’ll show you my friend Birdie! Try telling Dolly Pardon to loose her southern accent and she’ll tell you just where you can shove your shallow unsolicited linguistic advice!Love ya Birdie❤️
Every time I watch a Birdie video I am again reminded of how much charisma she has! Her voice is lovely! Her storytelling ability is superb! Her mannerisms are super cute and she is an all around joy!
I really enjoy your story telling, it’s awesome to find out more about you❤ I hope you make more videos like this, and yes I really love the long format videos to ❤ ❤❤
After watching your videos for a while now, I realized..."She's adorable!" So... I'm a subscriber now ❤ Little note: I have a cousin I won't drink in public with. Her NY accent comes out loud and strong and embarrassing 😂😂 It's who we are, right? Lovable peeps from everywhere!
Hi, be safe Birdie ☺️ IF anything happens, always stay with your vehicle. Let someone know your route. Enjoy your journey. Love and Light always Karen 😊and Miles 🐶
Birdie, don't be so hard on yourself, although i understand how it happens as i do the same thing. You're an awesome lady bringing lots of fun, insight, and adventure into our lives! Thanks for always being upfront and honest!❤😊😊😊😊
I worked hard at not having a Boston accent since I started watching the Cleavers as a kid. 🤣 If I read out loud…. Look out for water & quarter though! Love your videos Birdie!❤
i have a southern magnolia accent that devolves into my native New Orleans accent when i am heightened. i LOVE all accents now, but in my youth i was embarrassed and insecure about sounding dumb. love the sound of our Birdie 🐦🐦🐦❤❤❤
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. There are many accents around this country and Pittsburghese is all its own language, except to Pittsburghers, of course. Anyway, I moved to ElPaso TX at 21 and, my god how I got called out for my accent. ElPaso is an army town with people from all over, so there are many accents around. So, many people placed my accent with first guess. Needless to say, I worked hard to not sound like my birth town. But it always slips out and since I moved back to PA, it has all come back. I don’t care. I also spent 20 years in Virginia, so a southern Pittsburgh accent sounds really bad. I don’t know when I should say y’all or yinz. It’s crazy. Oh, and you exhibit a lot of intelligence. Obviously someone who’s made an effort. ❣️❣️
I totally assumed that your pattern of speech was all part of your playful, sometimes theatrical, beautifully whimsical personality. It's all part of what makes you interesting to listen to. Lol, isn't it funny, though, what we learn about ourselves when we watch ourselves on video? I truly believe it should be some type of self-awareness class in high school to see for yourself how you come across to the world and others. I'm happy you have us a heads up about your next video, not to worry. Take care, beautiful girl. 🥰❤️🤗
Birdie! I can relate. I moved from the Deep South to a northern state when I was 13. I was made fun of so badly that I masked my accent. It now comes and goes. Some of my friends accused me of "faking" it... but you never lose the way you learned to talk. It's engrained in your brain and thats your most natural way of speaking. I liken it to well worn tire paths... it's really hard to not let the wheels slip back into those grooves!
Birdie, I’m the same way. I went to school for theatre, and I worked so hard to just not have an accent. It comes out more during heightened emotions or when I’m around my family, but I’m learning to embrace it. In my videos I try so hard not to sound Arkansan, LOL, but I know I do sometimes.😅Friend, you just keep being you cuz we love ya for it!☮️💖
Birdie, you're the only person I follow and comment on because I know you're an intelligent, strong, brave woman. Don't ever doubt that. Like one comment said, your explanation of depression was the best I've ever heard. Keep keeping it real, we all love you on here because of that!
I was raised in Bronx, New York. I also worked hard to lose my accent while in the Air Force. I totally get it. Our accents are part of our identity so just embrace it. I have lived in Georgia for the last 30 years and love the southern accent.
Hey, your intelligence shines through your videos. The fast evolution of your video production skills and your ability to explain complicated person issues is such a clear and reliable way. ❤
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I lived there until 2002. Now I'm in Oklahoma. I could hear Texas in you and it makes me smile. You express yourself beautifully and with much intelligence. Just sayin' .... Oh and I love you too!
Yes, Texas is its own Southern accent! People from other places don't always know that. Texas accent is lovely. Matthew McCougnahey is the gold standard.
I’m born and raised in New England and now live closer to my granddaughters, youngest having lived 5 of her 6 yrs in South Carolina and I adore her accent! But I have seen her get upset when family in New England mention her accent, I’ve told her it makes her very special
You are very wise Birdie! I was raised in Baltimore and people mentioned my accent and judged it as well. My dad could not stand to hear how we pronounced certain words. I made it a point to get rid of it too. 😂😂😂 I love southern accents. Hell, I love all accents. 😊
You definitely are intelligent! No doubt about it! I love all your accents. Enjoy the mountain! We call it "the mountain". Often youll hear us say something about " the mountain" being out. Thats because it is so rainy/cloudy in the Seatlle/Tacoma area that we dont see Mount Rainer (or any mountain) very often. When we see Mt Rainier it is big bold and beautiful. Enjoy!
Born and raised in Vancouver, BC area. I can hear the twang creep in as you travel down the coast in Washington and Oregon. At least compared to "Canadian," there's a twang! 😅 62 here. Lost a high paying job in 2020 because i refused to deal with my trauma (PTSD) induced depression. Now I work part-time in a not for profit indigenous organization. So nice to be in a work place where the goal is to help people. Also learning about my indigenous roots, I had a great grandmother who was First Nations. Your video where you explained how your depression felt was so impactful. I get tears in my eyes even thinking about it. Enjoy Mt. Ranier, it is beautiful. Love Anacortes, go whale watching there at least once a year.
👍😊❣️🥰 This is what Americans sound like. We grew up in one area of the country and then move to another part of the country and take on a little bit of that accent and then we move again and take on a bit of that accent. Now when we talk we slip into different accents all day long. 💞
When I moved from California to Colorado to Texas, I actually thought all southern accents were the same, boy was I wrong. After being in Texas over 30 years, I can tell the difference in accents from different regions of Texas. When living in Colorado, I didn't think Californians had an accent - until I moved to Texas. I love accents too! It makes learning another language fun and since you mentioned it, I realized I like the way it feels as well ❤
10 years old, bulllied for my accent when I moved from Scotland to England, and I did the same - lose it as quickly as possible, I feel you! Sucks because I would love a strong Scottish accent these 40 years later. Have to survuve as a kid though. Your intelligence is not in question lady, less of that please!! (Perimenopause has messed with mine but not my fault).
You really are a ray of sunshine in how you say everything. It's funny; you're the first person I've ever followed on RU-vid, and I always find myself looking forward to your videos, whether they're short or long. They lift my spirits and always connect with something in my own life. I've lived with a speech impediment my whole life, and like you, I spent a lot of my time being very careful about how I speak. Also, like you, I was proud of my intelligence, but with age and health problems, that seems to decline, and I've had to come to terms with all of that as well, but I realize I'm not alone in these experiences either, which I'll admit is a nice feeling. Anyway, enjoy your trip to Mt. Ranier and I'm sure we'll all be praying you're safe and enjoying your trip! Keep smiling and know that while you're out there, we're keeping you in mind and looking forward to your safe return. Thanks for the "Hi!". It was really nice to see your smiling face again...
I love it when you slip into your Southern accent! I was raised in Southern California by parents from Mississippi and I even slip into it. I was raised with so any Southern phrases that they are just part of me. Keep do’in what yer do’in and drawl yer little heart out!
Hi miss Birdie ...I have a very thick hillbilly accent I was born in Ohio but more than half of my life has been in Wild and wonderful West Virginia 💕 sending love my friend 💝
You have so many wonderful life experiences to share. You are a delight, and have done such a good job of processing your life stressors. I know you are vulnerable to mood shifts, to put it lightly, but so am I. You are an important inspiration to all who are trying to understand and cope with any kind of disability, even an invisible one.
Hi Birdie, I love your accent! I so enjoy your voice and your power of description and am so glad I found your channel. Genuinely a highlight whenever you upload a video, thank you so much for sharing your experiences ❤ from me in Australia
Have a good time discovering Mt Rainier and all the beautiful scenery it has to offer. I was just up there for a month and am now planning another trip back in late October. Travel safe.
Nothing wrong with your choice of accent, it is one more thing that makes you so enjoyable to watch. You are quite a special person with an amazing personality. Looking forward to each posting. Be well. Walk in peace.
The video you made about mental illness is soo relatable,as a 17yrsold with bpd i can relate about everything you said You rrly don't know where life going to take u.. I love u birdie 👾
My granddaughter s grew up in Washington state. I moved out there in an RV and lived for 2 years. It's beautiful to see but not so much to live in all the rain. I'm Kat from Georgia now the one that binged on your videos. I just love seeing them. I'm single and 64 and deal with very bad depression. In fact, I'm coming out of retirement to work so I have some purpose. Anyway, my granddaughter 's out west in Tacoma Washington. They have a Southern accent and they are not from the south whatsoever which I thought was very adorable. Mount Rainier is so gorgeous! I just love seeing that mountain in the middle of July with the snow on it. Enjoy your trip! I look forward to seeing your video from it. Consider yourself hugged
Thank you so much for that hug! Yes, I would definitely stay in this area if I could handle that winter rain. But being in a van makes that especially hard. I'll just have to come back as often as I can. :) I hope you end up liking your new job. Please keep me posted. ❤️
My daughter grew up in the south but has been lived in CO for 25 years. Her friends can always tell when she visits family in GA because she comes with a pronounced south accent.
Glad to see you, and I love hearing about your past! I have loved your accent, it tends to come out with your enthusiasm, and when you fuss at yourself!!! For whatever reason, I LOVE. IT!! Will miss hearing from you over the week or so, please enjoy your trip, have fun, be safe! I look forward to hearing from you again ❤
Oh we have such similar stories!! I, too, moved away from Texas and back. I lived in Los Angeles and also got a lot of laughs at the expense of my southern twang and was very intentional about losing it.
Hi Birdie, I love your accent. I’m from the UK (here now) but lived in Kentucky for 8 years and Seattle for 6 years before returning home to the UK. I met many, many people from the Appalachian regions (in my work) and LOVED them ALL. The UK have the same silly prejudices about the intelligence of people from certain areas..all silly and all untrue. We are who we are and all of us valuable in our own ways. Just ‘Be Here Now” and love who you are and where your roots are. XXXX Safe travelling XX
I never thought I had an accent until I started traveling to Mexico. I'm from Wisconsin and just thought I spoke in a neutral way. All the Mexicans I met and held conversations with, wanted to know what part of Canada I was from.😂One of the reasons I love your channel is when you get all excited and animated and you switch to southern mode! It's endearing and does not make you sound dumb. Have a good time at Mt. Ranier, my dear!😁✌🤟
Dolly Parton has a lovely Southern accent AND also a very high IQ. On the other end of the spectrum, there are a lot of dumba$$ news "readers" who speak with a "Broadcast English accent" on some major news stations. So there you go. One sort of accent doesn't guarantee intelligence. I'm excited to see the next leg of your amazing trip. Hugs.
I've worked hard to not acquire the MN accent ... I am occasionally asked if I am Canadian, but that's not nearly as bad as a thick northern MN accent lol
Thank you for the tutorial on accents that you’ve acquired throughout your life. I think you have a lovely, lively, interesting, and intelligent way of speaking and storytelling. It has a pleasant cadence and rhythm . You slip into the Texas draw because it’s your natural way of speaking . I also enjoy the added singing and creative voices you use. It sounds happy and full of joy. I pray for you everyday. Hope you enjoy Mt Rainer . Look for Stellar Jays. Beautiful Blue birds that are very curious and may eat right out of your hands!
Hi Birdie! Your accent is adorable and I don't believe you've gone backwards on your intelligence because we learn and grow every day of our lives. Love you, happy travels! ❤
A smart person is one who is nice to people, respect themselves and others and shows love for yourself and your fellow human beings! Intelligence is not measured by the mind but what is in your heart!
Let me tell you something Let your voice ring!!!! I love to listen to accents. I can listen to someone and without even thinking about it I mimic them. Your right they feel wonderful in your mouth and to your ears. Let it flow baby its who you are and I LOVE hearing it.And you are not dumb. The greatest most famous artists, inventors, musicians all had some kind of mental illness. In your case as I believe with you it shows your true Brilliance!!!!!😊❤
As some one who lived in East Tennessee for 24 years, your accent makes me miss my friends I left when I moved out west. Plus, my son is a bred and born southern boy, who sadly, doesn’t have much of an accent.
I like the sound of the southern accent. Growing up most of my childhood friends were from the south and had accents. I also lived in Texas for awhile and you do pick up that twang.
I was born in Dallas, raised in Dallas and Houston. When I arrived in California, via rural Tennessee, at the age of 15, I began a three-year process of losing my southern accent and "y'all" for the same reason. For decades, though, it would come back whenever I talked on the phone with a Texan relative. Like you, I'll sometimes intentionally bring it back when expressing humor, but at the ripe old age of 76, I think I've lost it otherwise. I absolutely love it when I hear it your twang!
Birdy, if you do not have service I’m going to miss you can’t wait till you get back, hope you have a good time! Love your videos you are so smart, wondering when you’re dad. kicked you out did you have your daughter? Wished I could have lived in Hawaii❗️
I 100% get this! I was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. Minimal accent in the Midwest but, I have, as an adult, lived in VA, TN, PA (yeah, don't ask me why central PA has an accent) and various other place around the south. I'm now living back up north but when I'm tired, I slip into a mixed up Southern accent.
I really understand the change of accent thing. Albeit, my forced move was from the North to the South of tiny wee Ireland. By the way..... your accent mimicking is very good. ❤❤❤❤❤ Sending love and hugs ❤
We have similar issues, and when you said your dad kicked you out at 13 yrs old, that's spot on my story plus add-in out of control panic disorder, and that was me. I understand how difficult it is to be happy it's only ever happened a handful of times, but I like to think life's getting better, at least for today.
Oh my gosh! Girl I absolutely adore your accent! Coming from the northeast I think it’s so freaking charming! Seriously I LOVE it!! And of you’re unintelligent then I’m dumb as the proverbial rock!!! Have an amazing time on Madame Rainer( rainier)? See? There I go LOL LOL! Love you sweetie!!❤❤❤
Birdie, I moved from California to Texas, and my then 8 & 10 year old daughters gradually transitioned from a Valley Girl accent to a Texas accent. You should have heard it. So funny.
I enjoy listening to all your accents as I am an Aussie with a sometimes Irish lilt because my dad was Irish. It's fun to hear the different tones, and I often think of it like music when I hear people's accents. You are not less intelligent. Your brain has just realised that lots of stuff stored there was not necessary, so put it all away in cold storage or deleted it to make room for new stuff. We are constantly learning new things every day. Have you thought about getting Starlink so you can always stay connected? Take good care of yourself, big hugs 💜
