I will admit back in like 2014 to mid 2015 I watched some of their content only because for some reason they followed around band I used to listen to in middle school.
The only thing I ever watched from them was Cheerleaders, Taking the stand, and L.a story Calabasas cause one of the girls I followed on Instagram kept posting about it...you should react to it cause it was all types of awful
Function of beauty turns out to be super shady. A lot of reviews confirm that the products have damaged their customers hair (severely! Speaking falling out of strands/clumps, bald spots and similar things) and that customer service is less than sub par. Be careful out there! I was at checkout when I thought of checking reviews, trust pilot etc and I'm relieved I didn't spend the tenfold of my usual hair budget on FoB.

I remember first seeing Awesomeness TV years ago on Nickelodeon, where Daniella Monet as the host and it was mostly live-action sketches that were pretty corny. They even made a made-for-TV movie based on one of the sketches about their tomboy character who liked getting dirty or something, I never saw it. Never knew they were actually a pretty huge RU-vid channel that did more then just sketch comedy until I saw people on RU-vid talking about "To All the Boys I Loved Before".
Trinkets is another awesomeness tv production on netflix that, while far from good, was a decent binge. But again, thats probably due to the co-production being with netflix. Light as a feather was also pretty good but, yet again, thats likely due to hulu's involvement. Light as a feather, trinkets, and TATBILB are all based on books and that shows they do fine as a production company as long as they have outside writers/source material.
Even to all the boys i've loved before kinda lost their charm. The second just not on par with the first one cause they changed the director. Lost of weird and unnecessary directing choices. But yeah when it comes to their youtube content it's definitely a big yikes.
Was trying to figure out why I remembered Awesomeness tv. After some digging I found out they had a "Fifth Harmony takeover" series. And that brought back a ton of memories
The Carmilla Series is the only web series I've ever seen that pulled off the 'six minutes an episode'. For the concept it was going for, that show ended being better than a lot of actual TV shows. And God do I miss it
There’s an Australian author, AJ Betts, whom I’ve had the honour to meet, whose book Zac and Mia was made into an Awesomeness TV show. She’s an amazing writer and from what I hear they absolutely butchered the story, taking away the depth and complexity and focusing on the romance.

I’m fascinated by the girl saying the Lost arc numbers on the dating show. Lost is a good show, but it’s pretty old for the target demographic here. I was barely old enough to watch it and I’m in my late 20s. Maybe there was a resurgence I didn’t know about, but it feels like a wild pull.
Malibu Surf looks like someone saw The Bu by The Lonely Island but thought it was supposed to be taken seriously. Right down to how short the episodes were. They just missed that The Bu was a parody and not an actual thing.

I don't dislike everything on AwesomenessTV they have one show, Twin My Hart, that I actually enjoy watching. They episodes are around 30 minutes each, the interactions are not awkward and it's not scripted. But maybe i'm biased because I like the merrell twins but idk. I'm subscribed to AAwesomenessTV tho, because of their other content...
I'm p sure you're right about the budget constraints- shorter episodes mean they don't have to compensate crew like they would for a longer show and can really take advantage of them. This was a big selling point behind Quibi as well
Mary flexing her Lost trivia in poem form? I'm going to assume this girl remembers Brent at some point claiming to be a fan of Lost or something, but really he was probably still a fetus when the show was airing. This is just my no context guessing tho (I keep thinking his name is Brett)
The only reason I subscribed to AwesomenessTV was for the show 'Cheerleaders' which followed a Californian all-star cheerleading team, just like Cheer on Netflix, but I've never bothered watching anything else because their scripted stuff is absolute trash.
Awesomeness also did a dating series with Meaghan Reinks YEARS ago. My BF's friend was in it and I was like, "wtf?" And my BF asked and the guy said it was just a casting call he replied to.
You're sorta right! I'm the girl and the numbers are from one of my favorite shows of all time, Lost. The numbers do get used at one point by one character, Hurley, to win the lottery. But the numbers are cursed/are taboo. They are constantly referenced and seen in the show ie the flight that crashes on the island is Oceanic Flight 815, the numbers they have to enter in the hatch are 4 8 15 16 23 42, etc. It's a great show, you should watch!
