Why is Halo 2 Legendary So Hard 

Nothing puts hair on your chest more than Halo 2 legendary. Between that and the beatings from my father growing up. Childhood was a gauntlet.

I absolutely love how excited Charlie was to finally break out his rare classic halo 2 disk only to immediately drop it when he opens the case

Also something that Charlie didn't think of, is after getting each skull it will get progressively harder as the skulls can't be deactivated in the OG game. So when grabbing the last skull you'll basically already be doing LASO without making progress on LASO.

That end scene where Master Chief sends the bomb back is easily the coolest moment in Halo.

Best part of the behind the scenes and making of Halo, is you can see the fun in a game and not the over hyped competition. A game being a game. "The Reason" being played in the background is a nostalgic feel to this.

Reach has the toughest Elites Halo 2 has the toughest... everything else.

Halo 2's Legendary difficulty is so difficult because it wasn't balanced before the game's release. The dev cycle time restraint is also why the brutes' berserk melee animation is so fast-it's a placeholder animation. The Vista port's half-finished 60-ticks-per-second engine is another contributor to Halo's difficulty. Bungie wrote many scripts and engine mechanics that count ticks rather than time. This caused many things to run twice as fast e.g. AI reaction speed. From what I know, the MCC port had the Vista port's issues up until the past few years when all of the MCC titles were given restorations. I'm unsure if all of the titles' port-related issues were fixed, but I do that know CE is nearly on-par with the OG Xbox release from the graphics, the gameplay, and the audio.

To this day, Halo 2 solo legendary is my greatest gaming-related achievement. I was having renovations done on my apartment building and all I did was play Halo 2 on MCC for 2 days straight, Gravemind alone took me 5 hours to accomplish.

Going for all 700 MCC achievements was one of the most fun gaming things I've done in years, made me just love Halo even more

Imagine walking into 7/11 with the Halo 2 Legendary slurpee code. Even though it's expired, I feel like it would garner enough respect to turn the clock back and make the slurpee appear right before you.

Every single sound in this game slaps from when I remember as a 4 year old. From switching to the energy sword and hearing that crispy ignition of the blade or simply the hilarious dialogue given by the talented voice actors. I could go on and on, such a time piece and staple in gaming

The first mission on Legendary was hardest for me. The boarding parties. So little ammo.

I completed this challenge last year and my god halo 2 was absolutely savage. The feeling when you finally beat the final boss tho my god. It. Was like besting dark souls for the first time.

I'm currently attempting what I like to call a LMSO (Legendary *Most* Skulls On) run on Halo 3 as a sort of training ground for a proper LASO attempt, and that's already one of the most difficult gaming experiences I've had in a long time. I'd hate to try it on Halo 2. Edit: I'm not using Halo 3 to prepare for Halo 2. I've been playing the games for over a decade, so trust me, I'm well aware of how bad an idea that would be.

What makes Halo 2 Legendary so amazing is that it’s difficulty forces you to acclimate as you go. I remember having an extremely hard time on the first level but by the end of the game you figure out ways to get through and by the end you really feel like a badass! The only other game that’s made me feel that way is Last of Us on Grounded difficulty.

That’s exactly how I remember skulls back in the day with halo 2. I was wondering how laso worked if the skulls in the original halo2 were nice items to collect for that game session. What he has to do to get laso going is so brutal

I remember when this game came out. I was in middle school and my friends and I skipped school to go play it all day together. Playing multiplayer with split screen and system link set ups lmao those were definitely legendary times man. God do I ever miss those days more than anything. Best Halo game in the franchise too in my opinion. So awesome.

I've beaten Halo 2 on Legendary, it was insanely tedious, but now I plan on doing a retrospective. Halo 2 is also very satisfying to complete and I have to say its the best Halo story wise, LASO is a curse though

The early part where the elites just keep spawning out of the pods is maybe the hardest section of a shooter I have ever played in my life. And I grew up with combat evolved.

I remember when I first beat it on legendary back in the day, it really felt like an accomplishment. My friend inspired me to do it since back then it never even occurred to me to try it since it was so hard. He did it though so I had to try it too and I realized that beating a game on the hardest difficulty was actually really fun. Lol

It's literally just that you have like 60-70% less HP compared to CE. They increased the HP again in 3.

The first time running legendary halo 2 I swear that ending room on the first mission is one of the hardest rooms ever, then doing it again it’s like one of the easiest for some reason

I helped find some glitches and things in halo 2 when it comes to cario you can skip hanger 1 with a dead alive on legendary. By sticking player 2 at the first load zone with a plasma and jumping through it with player one as close to ceiling as possible he will disappear player 2 then he will blow up and when he respawns be dead alive this is due to default spots loading in during a pinch any way.... He will be invincible but cant move you can then punch his corpse through the first hanger doors skipping that fight with skulls if you got no skulls just delay the spawn till he is by the door he will fall in usually. Also since player 2 is invincible if you push him to the second hanger he makes for a great enemy destraction. Also another tip disable all audio hardware if the game thinks there is a fault it will run the game dialog much faster same with looking at the stations outside if you look at them they explode faster.

I beat Halo 2, solo, on Legendary... I had to pull a lot of weapons forward to do it though. Took forever!!!

If you play through halo 3 there’s a glitch no one’s ever discovered. On the last level when you jump the warthog into forward unto dawn, if you land to the far far left or right of the ramp it won’t load the final cutscene and you can drive around the ship

As someone who speedrun’s halo 2, this game is still brutal after hundreds of runs. Knowing the little tricks to get an advantage still doesn’t help it either. Superbouncing, Ghosting, and SwordFlying…SLASO itself was one of my hardest challenges. Ghosting is risky if you can’t do it properly, that can kill your entire run.

2:20 - duplicate a fully finished campaign save, load up each level for each individual skull, save and quit at the checkpoint before you pick it up, and rename the save file so you know which skull you're gonna pick up. rinse repeat, then load each save file one after another until you have all of them. had to do this every single time you hard reset the console. even if you saved a laso run, quit, turned off the console, and rebooted that laso run checkpoint, the skulls would deactivate and you'd have to shotgun the save files again.

I beat Halo 2 on Legendary for the first time a few years back and while the experience was full of gamer rage, my appreciation for this masterpiece of a game grew all the more from it. I even decided to duel Tartarus with just an Energy Sword at the end as a proper sendoff to the Campaign.

In other games, the high difficulties force the player to master the mechanics of the game while gracefully using your skills in order to dance around the enemies with minimal error. Halo Legendary makes you shoot a single enemy for a minimum of 40 minutes while hoping you don't get obliterated by a random blast while moving at a top speed of 2 miles per hour

Through about 30 something (prob little less) hours it took my best friend and I to beat normal Halo 2 Legendary campaign..each mission took roughly 1-2hours…we dealt with the CO-OP disconnection, halo 2 has a major issue with. Since you’re playing with two ppl you die literally twice as much. It was hell and high water..nothing we said we would put ourselves through again😂..it was insanely good feeling to complete it tho and see the achievements pop up..good luck to everyone who tries Halo 2 legendary..you’ll hate it but it’s worth it!

Did a halo legendary marathon before infinite released. If I’m being honest. CE and 4 were by far the most infuriating to play. Halo 2 was still hard as hell, just not as mind shattering.

In halo 2 legendary some encounters are puzzles in which you need to do a very specific set of things in a certain order to survive. Especially in Gravemind.
