Why is the 3s Typhon so popular

Today I will be taking out my Typhon 3s. I’ve had it for about a year now and still can’t drive worth a dam but the Typhon takes it. I have had very little repairs and don’t really maintain it very well. I kind of want something to break so I can tear it down and replace bearing and such but as long as it still moves why mess with it.

The Typhon 3S has been an absolute tank for me. We always take it out as a back up just in case something else breaks while we're out. Good video!

Thanks for watching. I totally agree. It's a perfect backup and plenty of fun for sure. My backup to the Typhon is my Granite. Both are dependable oh yes and I almost forgot the MT-10 as it's a real tough truck as well but drives quite differently.

Of all the 3s off road cars by Arrma, the typhon seems to have the best handling. I drove a buddies typhon and he offered to let me use it to make a video about it, but i had no camera with me at the time. But, they really do handle well. Buggies in general do, but the typhon isn't like most light weight nimble buggies, its tough and heavy by comparison to many buggies of the same size, yet handles as if it's light and nimble. BTW, this video rocks. Thats how an arrma should be driven.

Thanks for the cool post. The Typhon is by far the best performer of the cars I have. It definitely handles and takes jumps like no ones business. My personal preference is off-road driving but the Typhon can be used for speed runs as well. I'm still looking for a big flat area with a couple of nice ramps of proper mounds of dirt I can take it to and practice some jumps. Needless to say I really enjoy driving it and it gets more views than my other cars. Eventually I will probably have to tear it down and replace bearings and such but so far it still runs fine. I'm trying to make every penny count and I'm thinking long and hard as to what car I will get next. It will probably take 6 months to save up for a 6s Typhon or a Lasernut because I'm not working any more and just don't feel like going back to work. There are plenty of real nice rc's out there for a lot less money so I really need to think it through. Even the Traxxas TRX-4M 1/18 Electric Rock Crawler w/Ford Bronco Body for $149 seems like something I would enjoy driving. Or the Redcat Everest-10 1/10 4WD RTR Electric Rock Crawler for $179. If I had the finances I would definitely get a Raminator but my loto numbers never seem to hit. lol Enjoy the hobby.

Great run with the Typhon 👍 i will be getting one as a winter basher and i hope it holds up better than the Arrma Big Rock that i had a while back. Thank you for sharing and have a great day 👍🙂

Thanks friend. I keep hearing that plastic / composite materials break easier in cold weather. It really doesn't get that cold where I live so perhaps that is why I have had good luck with my cars. I do break things crashing some times but not very often. My Typhon is slowly dying just from ware and tear. I might get another one as a backup and rebuild this one. It truly is a good RC just for the fact that parts are reasonable and easy to come by. I'll be looking forward to your videos and hope you enjoy winter bashing. Thanks again for watching.

Thanks buddy. I'm toying with the idea of getting a small touring car or crawler and just go out to some cool locations and walk on along some nature trails. I live in the desert but the mountains are not that far away. The Typhon is a blast for sure but it's kind of big to lug around if it breaks. Besides the park ranger might object.

The Typhon preformed just fine. I just need to work on my driving skills and find a location that is not so cramped. The BMX track is kind of hard to navigate. Thanks for watching and best wishes to you on your adventures.

That's great. The Typhon should give you years of enjoyment. The 3s Typhon is fast right out of the box. The motor and ESC is solid. 🦾

i wish i had a good first experience with bashers. i bought the big rock and my brother the typhon and both broke the same day. Servo, spurr gear and driveshaft broke on the big rock because of intrusive rocks and dust and my brother's esc and fans died. We were told many times these were tanks but it was not quite the first experience.. and we were just doing some light bashing on a gravel road. We're both selling them and we'll stick to crawlers and scalers.
@RCRoads
@RCRoads Год назад
I can kind of relate. Bashers break quite often. I'm 65 now and my reaction time is terrible. It's very difficult to bash and film at the same time. I am really considering getting into crawling and have been looking at the Redcat EVEREST-10. When I started out with RC's it was purely my way of having actors for making youtube videos. I guess I could have tried filming wildlife or something else but the RC hobby just seamed like lots of fun. I really don't enjoy doing speed runs or driving on the street much so a crawler would be perfect for what I do. I have seen some very successful channels that only run crawlers so perhaps that's the direction I will be going. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. It's nice to wake up and sit down with a cup of coffee and read the post on my channel. Thanks bunches. 👍

My big rock went around the Velodrome at full throttle- got to the side, hit something and rolled and cartwheeled to the other side with a steal bench finally stopping it. As I looked at it in horror, my friend goes= well there went $400!! I hit the gas, and that beast wheelies back across the Velodrome- broke nothing. Arrma Tough‼️👍👍🦾🦾
@RCRoads
@RCRoads Год назад
@@doubledome2076 I’m not sure what a Velodrome is but sounds like the BigRock is one tough RC. No wonder you abandoned the Granite. I watched a video that RC Dude81 posted and it sure seems like a great performer. I also watched another video from JayTee RC and he ran the Granite and BigRock as a sort of comparison. I guess the Bigrock has a longer wheel base so that probably really helps offroad. JayTee did one jump with the Granite and it was broken. The BigRock held up just fine and it’s just a bit more expensive but I think it’s justified. It seems like lots of people are converting the BigRock to 4s and man does it preform.
@doubledome2076
@doubledome2076 Год назад
@RCRoads a Velodrome is the big round concrete circle that bicycles ride around- grass and dirt in the middle.. it's at the skatepark here. I started with the big rock- lived the way it drove- it's wheelbase helps a ton! The Granite was the rollover king going from the big rock- understandable, but pisses you off every turn. So yeah, the big rock spoiled me for driving, but before I got rid of the Granite, it took a hell of a beating- on concrete!! They are tough as nails! Your recent video of the Typhon has me sold!- it's hard to choose sometimes- that lasernut does look good!! The new rlaarlo am d12 I think that just came out is brushless, 1/12 scale, 38 mph on 2s.. looks like the lasernut in the front a bit.. but it's $180. I just think- add another $180, and there's a Typhon... have they gone up on the big rock ? It was $339 just like mist of the 3s line, but here, the Vendetta, and Vorteks are $369... have no clue what the $30 extra is for.

@@doubledome2076 Thanks for clarifying a Velodrome. It's difficult to decide. Your making it even harder. lol I really don't know if I should buy a few cheap cars and post them on my channel or get one nice RC that I can simply enjoy driving. I'm not sure that a crawler would be much fun but it would be much easier to record the action. If Arrma still made the Nero 6s I would buy one for sure. Unfortunately Traxxas sued Arrma because they utilized the same laid down shocks and I guess it was copyrighted. If only they could do away with copyrights and just let the best man win. I still drool over the Lazernut. So for now I will just keep saving and looking at deals online and possibly a used car. I think a good video would be 2 Granites doing some destruction derby. I can still remember as a kid having a toy car that was made to crash into things and bust into pieces. Everything just snapped back together.

@RCRoads
@RCRoads Год назад
Thanks for the kind words and sub. The Typhon is by far my favorite buggy in my collection. My driving skills aren't the greatest but the Typhon is easy to handle. It jumps good but I try not to do flips with it. I think my Granite or MT10 are easier to do flips with. No problem doing a single back flip but honestly I land badly sometimes and just don't want to hurt my little baby.
@mjrprojects9476
@mjrprojects9476 Год назад
@@RCRoads Yeah the Typhon is a buggy so it has a longer wheel base and more aerodynamic body, it’s literally designed not to flip. I love the Typhon for rodding around on some dirt and taking small jumps at a high speed but I would definitely get a monster truck for doing trick jumps and flips.

@RCRoads
@RCRoads Год назад
@@ypsqueeze9632 The Typhon has held up well for me considering. I broke a front shock tower at the skate park but it was like 20 ft straight down on the nose against concrete. Cheap part easy fix. I also snapped off the spline on my front diff but even that was an easy fix. Basically stock parts are cheap, always available and easy to repair.
