I really like how these smaller channel making a reveal sort of thing recently, the thing is i found out about this like a week before this and really feel hyped for this now!
Halo CUSTOM EDITION is a free, legit DL from halomaps. It's the SERIAL # you have to, ahem, pirate. But those are all over the 'net. BUT... If you want to host games online (not LAN), or be a dedicated server, it's best to purchase Halo COMBAT EVOLVED, or a key # legit from Amazon. Hope this helped.
Why are all the hateful comments at the top and you're sitting down here? Why did I have to scroll so far for this? SOMEONE GIVE THIS MAN A GOD DAMN COOKIE!
@@randomstranger9442 sure, 343 has done a great job by ruining halo progression and making a game that singularly caters to the competitive community while utterly ignoring the casual roots of halo.
+Masterz1337 The mod looks AMAZING! Downloading it now! As a true Halo fan, I have to say, this mod is better than any other, and I love it. Thank you SO MUCH for making this mod, really.
Meme Potato FUCK well not gonna get it now.... R.I.P playable elites No more fun have to play as a shitty ass S4 who can't do shit with out atleast 3 other Spartan 4s helping....
Wha? Halo 5 was great, only bad thing was the campaign, but mostly because of them being rushed. Hell they were prob making this before the release of halo 5
***** Wha, i hate split screen and there is literally NOTHING wrong with the microtransactions, the only thing bad about the req system is how it wasnt as planned out as it coulda been. Cutting content? more like being rushed lol, otherwise why the fuck else would they release a game without half of the game modes in it? Its pretty obvious to see that they released halo 5 earlier to get some money for the xbone, and i hate micro$oft for that shit. But the game isnt average at all lol. The game to me, like i said is "great". I dont like the fact that they took splitscreen out, but since me and my brother both have seperate consoles now, shit doesnt bother me.
Bro, it is just that the fans on there games know the other fans better than the company itself... Of course this campaign "could" be better than 343I's campaign. It is just that no one is giving 343I a chance... Halo 5 is there first real game, and everybody is hating on it.
Halo 4 was a complete crap. From the copy-paste buggy version of Reach's forge, passing through a ridiculously short campain with a horrible and non sense ending, to the worst Multyplayer that we have ever seen in a Halo game. Halo 5 was a bit better just becouse the online was done with the help of the Halo community (it's no more classic Halo gameplay, but is still decent). 343 have done a great job with Halo 5 post-launch support (meh.. the game was relased with close to 0 content, but those are details), but they just suck at making games, or, at last, Halo games
halo 5 was badass. If you think it sucked you played it wrong because the combat was amazing and the new MP stuff was too. The ONLY negative was that there wasnt enough story. It felt like act 1 out of 3 but other than that...it was fantastic. The level design was great especially if you took advantage of the alternate routes and vertical space to move around quickly. Seriously if you think Halo 5 sucked as in you really thought it was a BAD game you need you god damn head examined. 5 the right step in every single direction. Go ahead and keep trashing 343...its old hat because anyone whos played Halo since CE has heard that every single game except CE was the worst. When reach came out people said it was the worst, same with 2, 3, ODST and 4. Give it a rest already and if you hate it so much STOP BUYING THEM. Now im going to check out this mod, it looks ok and then ill probably go right back to playing Warzone in H5
Don't mods like these say a lot about gamer culture and the gaming industry? That open-sourced, fan-made, and/or modded content have great potential, all while not 100% for-profit like normal AAA games? Seriously, it amazes me that the greed of big-named companies can decrease the quality of future installments so much that anyone with the skills and lack of greed can do better.
@Depressed ArtjpegYou wouldn't even initiate a project like this if it wasn't for passion. And if greed was the main driver, it wouldn't be such a masterpiece. Just an empty shell of new textures new weapons and stuff. And i doubt any modder would fail to realize that 'reviving' a game and trying to monetize it is bad stuff.
All Micro$oft and 343i cares about is money. Unless their choices affect that endless cash flow they got coming in, they wont give two fucks about improving Halo. I'm pretty sure they could fuck up Halo 6 so bad, that every single Halo fan -new and old, hates it to no end, with 1/10 reviews all across the board. But as long as they break even at launch, they don't give a fuck.
fearlesswee So let me get this straight, Microsoft only cares about money, even though they did a bit of fan service and called the Xbox ai Cortana? If Microsoft didn’t care at all about us, then we would’ve gone on them harder than people went on EA for Star Wars Battlefront 2. They have done so much for us, yet everyone focuses on the negative things. You know how negative things get put on the news and not positive things? Because we are so used to things being great, we just say they are normal, and anything bad is blown way out of proportion. Now, I am not saying Microsoft or 343 doesn’t care about money, I am just saying they also care about us. Why do you think games cost money? They need that money so they can keep on making games, so that they can keep providing good services to us, and so that they don’t end up bankrupt and we never see a Xbox or any Microsoft service again. You halo fa- no wait, no over using terms, you over expecting, under appreciative “kings” who expect everything to be served on a silver platter just because you are used to that. Just be grateful we got 343, and not a ungrateful, unloving, terrible company like EA, or a lesser known terrible company. Halo 4 is okay. Graphics are good, vehicles feel fantastic, and even though many hate the preset load outs you can customize, I personally was okay with it. Now Halo 5, I cannot give a opinion on it since I haven’t played it, however I have seen gameplay and I think it’s cool (other than every gun having a scope now and bolt-shot being burst).
+I BOOM I Google it? Look on the developers channel? 343 Industries was made in 2007 where as this mod has been in development further back than that. Certainly before 343 industries even made their own Halo game from scratch with no base game, story or design to work with.
Joseph Cummins Lol they just used Halo Reach and rewrite most of the code and copied from other games lol. And I like how you couldn't provide any proof and evaded the question.
It was most likely a combination of time constraints on Reed's part. Reed worked with comics, not movies or games, which flow differently than comics. Even then, Microsoft most likely hired Reed after Hunt the Truth, which may have contributed to the half-baked campaign. Still, the mod looks awesome.
FANS: 343 your in ability to safeguard halo was a colossal failure 343: I will continue my campaign against the humans FANS: no you will not, the weight of your heresy will stain your feet and you shall be left behind.
This really makes me wonder how a bunch of modders (absolutely no insult to them) can make/remake a campaign better than the 343 team did. I know the framework was already layed out for them but they didn't have a huge hundred plus million dollar budget and the team at 343 has people that worked on the original halo trilogy. What I absolutely love about this mod is that it takes something so close to perfection being the glorious Halo CE and somehow improves on it. I have seen what the skyrim an fallout modding communities can do and the same thing is happening here, people improving near perfect games free of charge. Gotta love it
Yea man! It would've been pretty awesome if 343i had done something similar to this with their Halo CE Anniversary, and kept both versions of the game.
as much as I love SPV3 that is a terrible idea. Changing the core gameplay of halo 1 is just going to ruin everything about the classics. But if it where to be put in it should be a separate campaign.
Halo 2 is on PC why can't someone make an updated version? kind of like what they did with Halo spv3 they can make it look more like the E3 2003 trailer I don't know...
With MCC I'd love to see someone have a go at a Halo 2 version of SPV3. Like say with the Forerunner Tank mission and adding in the Juggernaut and Sharquoi
I love how everyone is saying "343i is so bad that modders are making halo games now herp derp". News Flash: in case you didn't watch this video (obviously you didn't) this was in the making for the last 7 years.
343 destroyed halo BTW , how can you compare a free mod independent dev team to a multimillion dollars company that has money coming out of its asshole , these guys are doing it for the love of Halo but 343 is just in it for the Money .just sayin
pooper scooper Fuck the lore in the ass? Last I checked they were trying to implement the lore into the main games. Blue team, the arbiter, buck, etc are not new characters. And I dont see why you are complaining about OPTIONAL microtransactions, they are there to keep the dlc free and so they can continue making updates. And the req cards don't effect anything except warzone and firefight, and cosmetics and I dont play warzone, Except firefight. Plus I bet you anything bungie would never have had us go on Sangheilios,
pooper scooper It annoys me how you don't truly know the halo lore. The characters don't have to be in a video game to be apart of lore. There are comics, books, and movies that have lore characters that aren't in any halo game.
+James Davis I have seen people saying it's better as it doesn't have ads/zoom stuff like the assault rifle does. Well the assault rifle (Don't have the mod as don't have a pc I'm a console peasant :( . ) and I don't care about that in this mod or in halo 5. In halo 5 I don't even use it except sinper, br and dmr sometimes. The art style is really good but haven't seen anyone comment on the DMR which imo looks like the DMR from Halo 4. The armour abilities I don't really like from Reach and Halo 4 but I don't mind it. This has some and I've seen people say it's not like shitty halo 4, reach even 5 it doesn't have any of these stupid abilities but it does, I don't know how many but there is some. I've only seen 1 person comment on that. All the stuff In this mod are awesome. If halo 5 was brillant but had a few armour abilities in campaign so many people would hate it and what if the art style was super good but the DMR was like the one from halo 4. Hate would also happen.
I like how a few fans with A LOT less money and resources can make a much better halo campaign than 343, a multi-million dollar company with hundreds of people. They made Missions true to Halo, and ACTUAL weapon variants look different instead of painting a red stripe on the guns like 343 did. These guys are VERY talented and committed fans.
While this is true, we can't forget how radically different both groups of people work. CMT Team has been working for a LONG time, and 343i is constantly being pressured by a company that wants to make as much money as possible. So it's very different between the two
Yeah there's your answer. You either throw buckets of money on it, or you spend ages on the work. Either way though, some things in Halo 5 are just... lazy.
The gaming as a whole would be much better off if it took time to make something truly great rather than spewing out shit every year to maximise profit, having greedy publishers in charge of everything that was once great is a huge issue that I hope will disappear but with the income companies like EA have been getting in the last few years...
You should try out the Arma 3 mod for it, Operation trebuchet it's incredibly well done. If you ever wanted a Halo experience true to the books try that out with some friends.
The awesomeness of Halo CE is that it came out when I was a kid, and it brings back my childhood memories, and all the memories that attatched to the game - like going to the firestation my father worked at and playing it with the other firerighters. or playing it with my brother for hours on end drinking PEPSI FUCKING BLUE
SPV3.3 really captured how I felt playing halo for the first time, you should definitely make a new video on this! The last update it had was so awesome, and it will always be one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've ever had.
Cool video Act Man, keep them coming! Also, if somebody wants to know how and where to get this modified Halo here: hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm Wait for 25th June when the first 6 maps are released and download them along with OpenSauce 4.0, you're good to go :D
I disagree. The game looks like a down grade from the original, some of the guns are bad and most assets are ugly to look at. I do congratulate the creator for making this game but I fell as if it was overhyped.
Not doubting the greatness of this mod, but does anyone else feel like he didn't really say much of anything? He came acrost to me as one of those ads that vaguely hypes up something for a long time, only at the end to say "...and for $$$, it can be yours today! Just call the number on your screen now!". And yes, I do know that it's free, but that's kinda what it felt like to me.
This so much, he says things like "it includes so many things that I've always wanted in Halo" but then only describes a couple of those things. Viewers will then subconsciously think that the other new features in the mod will be features that they always wanted. It's a classic advertising ploy.
Oh sprint in Halo people love in because 343 didn't do it here, people hate in 343's halos. Oh look, loadouts! It's welcome here but not in halo 4 because 343 did it.
Yes but loadouts and sprint in a single player enviroment is different than having those mechanics in a competitive multiplayer enviroment. Wonder why no one complained about fallout 4 having sprint? Because it doesn't have any affect on other players. Loadouts and sprint are fine in the campaign, it hardly gets in the way of the gameplay. Why? Because masterz and the other modders actually understand what makes halo special and how to introduce new mechanics that synergises with the core gameplay, unlike 343.
WarPanda when I was in computer repair school someone one day brought a copy of HaloCE and was put on ever PC in the class you know that HaloCE can be played on anything when it can be played on a PC made for work and is nowhere near close to a gaming PC
+Lucas Guilherme well Halo 6 is going to take place on Halo as shown on Halo 5's legendary ending so it would be great if they added wild life and it would be even better if the gameplay and art design was more like the classic Halo games as it would bring back old Halo fans from the days of Halo ce thru Halo 3.so Im basically talking about the whole mod.
old gameplay for campaing(not gonna happen) old art design( if it happen, it will be only for map) wild life( we need this) mod mechanics( i dont think it will happen) an idea i've been thinking...what if we could select wich spartan from osiris/blue team whe want to play in the level( like some classes system) and each one of the teammates have diferent default abilities like the sniper one has some active camo, ome more melee with some speed boost and spartan charge, a more default one ( goes to locke or MC), and a heavy one ( with a default saw )and a smg as secondary... man that would be awesome!!
Now that the mod is fully released and I finally played it I highly recommend getting this. You don't even need to own a copy of CE. You can google the product key.
***** Guessing you never thought how video game industry works like. They set goals for the game what is core. They make the core, then add the sweets. and they have strict deadlines when the game has to be done and during development there are more deadlines like 'the model for assault rifle needs to be done in this next week' as an example. Modders have the freedom of not having deadlines. They can have their life outside the modding but 7 years for 5 maps would be way too slow for a game company not to mention they used a working platform so they didn't have to create something out of nothing. Especially a lot of the code was done for them. Skyrim is a great example, that game has a lot of poorly textured objects and you can find mods to make them from 1k textures to 4k textures. Great, but it gets messed up when people think that the graphic artists in Bethesda cannot do better compared to a guy spending 3 months making 4k textures for a few swords, mean while the artists in the game company has to make all of the armor and weapons during that 3 months... not to mention the testing that if the game code is OK with the textures etc. see where I am getting here?
Seven years amongst a handful of people as opposed to multiple years amongst several hundred kind of negates your statement about the seven year development.
The problem is that more people on a game development team doesn't mean you have better assets. It just means you have more assets. How do you hire a hundred developers instead of just ten? Well, they have to be paid less. How do they get paid less? By being less experienced/talented. Piraja27 makes a good point. Patient and talented people used to be common in the games industry because it wasn't run like Hollywood before. Most companies did not take video games seriously because they didn't consider it a very large industry, so they didn't provide as much oversight over developer studios that they might have owned or published for. So the deadlines were less strict and the assets also required less time put into them because they were not as detailed; however they still had to be creative enough to get the message across with low-fi visuals. All of these things combine to give us the reason for the current state of the industry. Now the industry is huge. Supposedly the gross revenue of the game industry is now greater than Hollywood. Developers can't be patient because deadlines are strategically planned far in advance to optimize sales based on date of the year. Software development and deadlines planned years in advance don't mesh well together. Oversight is on the extreme end of high since games are on the top-end of revenue earnings, and content has to meet a bar for marketability before it can go in the game. And the content itself takes much more time and effort to produce because people have expectations that increase every year. It's an unfortunate thing, but this was destined to happen because game technology is progressing so fast that people simply won't be able to produce the ambitious "games of the future" you might expect in "marketable" development cycles (less than 3 years).
"But this ruins the sanctity, purity, and baaaaalance, of Halo CE!!! Don't mess with something that's perfect already!!" /s. Seriously though, imo, this is what Halo ceA SHOULD'VE BEEN and was hoping for. People who think it shouldn't be updated with the current lore up to this time to make it make more sense can suck it.
Couldn't have said it any better myself! And they _still_ refuse to make changes! "Our intent is for players to play the games in their original state". What a crock of shit!
Its a tad more complicated then that. Essentially, the mod blends elements from the books and the games into one experience so you could reason that its different from the base experience. Also, they're adding little text things that give a bit more depth to the experience.
Yea it's essentially the same, and the mod allows you to re-experience the campaign, so there are added lines and other things that happen that make it a little different from the original
+The Act Man yeah I was looking up more videos and I went through some gameplay and to be honest I was interested in the mission but it was a little let down on some of the guns mostly the plasma guns but they did really good on the human guns in the end this game kicks Halo4's ass
Lol. CE definitely wasn't the best campaign. That honor goes to either 2 or 3 depending on preferences for either story or gameplay. Unless you actually enjoyed the Library and playing the long ass Assault on the Control room mission for the second time but in reverse.
Zer0dog Halo 1 is the beast tied one, the levels are repetitive e but the combat in every encounter is very different balancing this issue (the game was made in 6 to 8 months!) history simple but excellent execution. Halo 2 on history department was stronger in characterization thanks to the arbiter history arc but the villain motivation is a bit weaker and the cliffhanger don't help much. In halo 3 a find a little same feeling in the level design, didn't find that spark of wander in previous games and the revenge story arc wasn't that satisfactory. My rank Halo1>Halo2>Halo3
I've invested so much time into halo CE campaign. More time in it than any of the other halo games combined. I love it to my core. However many of the missions are pretty well playing the same mission but backwards lol. The Maw is the pillar of autumn. Keyes is the truth and reconciliation. Two betrayals is assault on the control room. Still loved that shit
That fact that 343 was too goddamn lazy to make such an immersive mod for Combat Evolved speaks _volumes._ Masterz1337 deserves to have his own studio.
"How did they even add all of this stuff into HALO CE?". Supposed gamer who was around for the original release, just forgets to mention how mod crazy the xbox version became overnight. Folks were adding in new multiplayer levels, weapons, guns and shit you would never see in Halo games afterwards. But seriously, I know this guy is just over exaggerating to get some views or likes or whatever, but at least fill in the kiddies with some real life lore on how crazily modded this game has been since the get-go.
I honestly don't see what was so terrible about Halo 5's campaign except the non-combat missions and the revival of Cortana (which I don't mind but is valid). Those who complain about Osiris having more missions don't realize that at the end of the day, it's still a bunch of people in power suits running around and blowing things up. I pretty much defined the Master Cheif right there. The cliffhanger isn't that bad, it's not like that one thing could possibly have ruined an entire campaign. The only other reason that the Halo 5 campaign seems to suck is the marketing portraying the game differently, which is no fault on the game, just those is Microsoft's Marketing division. I like Halo 5, but by the same token, I like Halo CE and this SPV3.
Boring story, not enough dialogues with master chief, fighting the same guy over and over and over again, playing it for the first time expecting some epic showdown between mChief and Locke and then that shit happens really destroyed it.
HaloFikus Ok, yes, the Warden was boring to fight however many times. However, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you play as Chief or as someone else. The name of the game is "Halo" not "Master Chief and Company." There's an entire universe of characters, and playing as the Chief all the time gets boring, kinda like the Warden.
helio1055 See now it's the subjective people like you that I hate. People have their own opinions so leave them the fuck alone if they like a game that you don't like. That's disrespectful to the gaming community altogether.
but what I loved most about the Halo CE needler was that it was heavy and blunt, it shot slow and packed damage, it was a weapon to be FEARED. but in the sequels they turned it into a small machine gun and let's just thank fucking Jesus it wasn't dual wieldable
I think it'd be great if u could at least order the marines around or actually have spartan II's, I know that combat evolved was after most of the Spartans died on reach but being able to give Spartans orders and put them into certain fire teams would be Hella dope in my opinion
Dude, when you said "..It SHREDS!" (3:08), I could have sworn you were a younger Jeff Steitzer. I'd seriously recommend trying out for Installation 01. Seriously, just add a small amount of bass boost, and POW! Voice of God.
When I first picked up Halo: CE it was because it was the only game that really appealed to me as a shooter, it innovated and advanced beyond what I'd played before, it even got the darkness and difficulty correct, so to hear that a mod is getting such high praise from someone who played the original Halo: CE on the console probably as much I did, is giving me the mindset of "shut up and take my money." Which I don't get from modern halo games anymore, the anniversary edition didn't feel the same and it was disappointing for me, if it has that same level of playability, which is the wrong word but it's the only way I can describe it. Take this as an example, when you're playing, I don't know, The Truth and Reconciliation on Heroic or Legendary, does it have the same effect like the original where you don't notice that you've spent the last couple hours finding a way to take out as many enemies as possible in that first stealth bit without being spotted? Does it have the same effect that makes you want to come back to the game and go through the entire thing again on Legendary using only Human weapons? I want it to be YES because I haven't had that with many games from the modern era, the most recent being COD 4 (ja I know...) and that is honestly sad, so tell me, does it give you that same sense of fun that the original has?
real halo will never die halo 2 is also still alive with project cartoghrapher there is online multiplayer they ve also added infection mode and they are going to add forge
