In my country the Sheikhs that give out the Hutbas really twist the message...there is a sheikh that only speaks abt women's bodies...another one was busy speaking abt romance... It is really frustrating.... Then i started learnibg the religion by myself...

I feel like it’s the parents fault.. as a young Muslim person I can see parents not even talking to their kids about Islam not even a thing

What face will we show to Allah and Rasool (sal lal laho alayhi wasallam) and sahaba regarding the present situation of our ummah. Astaghfirullah...

For me, Differences and different school of thought is a test from Allah(swt) that how we behave with someone who is slightly different from my way of following Islam. I think the first group to enter Jannah will not be from one sect but from every sect who atleast tried on individual level to unite the ummah.

I have the same feeling about islam but I does not give up islam, instead of it I study and research about it by myself . I have been born and raised in a Muslim household but I had my doubts. Long story short, I have disidentified with Islam, because of what society thinks. Subhan Allah, my interest in Islam for the FIRST TIME, has come to me. And I now willingly pray and I am reading about Islam, dress modestly (modern), and I now re identify with Islam. All praise is due to Allah.

Absolutely agree with this. Sheikhs trying to educate about Islam are often the biggest reason young people turn away from Islam and I think a big reason is that these Sheikhs will study the Quran intensively and completely neglect studying the World the Quran explains. This can lead to flawed conclusions as even if the logic is sound, their pre existing knowledge on certain topics is not. A good example of this is the way Music is such a divisive topic amongst scholars. Most scholars who will argue that Music is haram will often cite things like mainstream music that glorifys sex and drugs as a reason why music is haram, yet the majority of people who listen to music will agree that this type of music is not very good music and meaningless. There is so much music out there, many of which directly convey important messages that are also in tune with messages of the Quran such as loving one another, being a good person, motivating yourself and much much more. Yet since these Sheikhs dont even engage in any of this music and completely neglect its existence, they push this narrative of music being harmful and not beneficial in any way, something that is COMPLETELY illogical to the many youths who have actually felt the benefits that music can give them, and allow them to inspire their minds to do much better. When you listen to 1000's of songs and they are nothing like the songs these Sheikhs talk about, and you can see clearly that their knowledge of Music is completely superficial, why should you trust them to be logical or knowledgebale about anything else? Their arguments are the same as saying Books are haram because Mein Kampf is a Book that was and still continues to be very harmful to many people. Many of these Sheikhs will consider anything that is not Muslim to directly be Anti-Islam even though music can be a very helpful tool to bring you closer to Allah and to Islam. Especially in today world where a lot more youth are plagued with Mental health issues these Sheikhs simply dont understand, and dont care to understand, equating their coping mechanisms to sin simply because they personally do not see the benefit is very dangerous and will undoubtedly lead to people being guided away when there is no logical reason to have to give up something as beautiful and diverse as music when joining Islam. Enjoying music in no way implies you will not also enjoy the Quran.

Yeah! My 6 yr old now 9 yr old son kept getting sent away from the jamaat prayer because he was wearing shorts! In the hot summer days in India when the young ones wear shorts they get turned away and get sent back! I kept sending him again and again saying tell them you're not "Baaligh" but he always changed and went, until he turned 8 and rebellious(already!!!) and stopped going. So i bought him long shorts that cover the knees...but still he keeps getting sent back!! I say tell them its not your AWRAH! and you're still not "Baaligh" but he keeps getting shoved by elders in the masjid so he stopped going. He doesn't go now regularly, sadly...he says I get shoved and sent back so unless he's wearing a pyjama he doesn't go which is now not often :( :(

Total true, sadly. Too much arrogance and sometime conflicts between years Muslims, give a bad image about Islam in the rest of new Muslims (not matter the age). Return and be a Muslim alone at home, seems was the solution

I was in the same situation, not praying not paying zakat over all in a bad shape but once I started to pray and read the Quran and doing what allah loves then I felt those doubts were not reaching me any more. Making dua for everything that’s the one of the best ways to get what you want from allah Subhana wata’ala
