In a loaded 2023 NFL QB rookie class, Jake Haener may be the most underrated of the bunch. After starting out at Washington, he left for Fresno State and became one of the best QBs in school history there. He ended up becoming a 4th round pick to the New Orleans Saints and despite a 6 game suspension, will hopefully get a chance to be apart of their future. Today, I want to talk about his rise, his crazy college career and why he has hype, enjoy!

He should be QB2 next season after Jameis moves on to another team. And like most Saints fans, I wish Jameis all the best unless it's against the Saints. He's grown a lot as a teammate since coming to NO.

If you watched him will Fresno State to victory over UCLA then you became an immediate fan of this kid. He may never be a star but he has all the little attributes that will keep him on a roster longer than most.

That Cal game was his downfall at UW, he threw 3 picks including that pick 6. The fans in majority didn't like him or want him at uw after that game. Happy for his success thus far! He entered the portal prior to the bowl game when Kalen went to UW, but he decided to stay and I believe he played that bowl game.

Yeah, he beat the piss out of my cougs. Jake is an impressive, although undersized, quarterback. His story is kind of unique and I'm definitely pulling for the kid.

That and the fact that Jimmy Lake crashed and burned as a head coach. Haener likely saw the writing on the wall there since he committed when Chris Petersen was still around. No shock that DeBoer has gotten UW back to that standard under Petersen

Haener did not grow up in Fresno. He grew up in the East Bay Area. 20 minutes away from Cal Berkeley
