You absolutely correct about how Malaysians can easily adapting to foreigners and new cultures or incoming new changes because it can be traced back in the 15 century's where one of Malay Archipelago which is Melaka and Kedah are one of the focus where East and West merchants meet to do their business,at that time Malay language are becoming Lingua Franca because it's easy to learn and easily be spoken, so even Chinese,Indian,France or Dutch can use it to communicate with each other, as you know East are popular with spice, silk and tropical goods meanwhile West are popular with metals such as gold and steel and Tanah Melayu (old Malaysia name) are the place where they can meet because it become stop place according to world geography, you need to go long way in a roundabout to go from West to the East and vice versa but they found out it became shortcut if they go through Tanah Melayu and while doing that they can save more time and also protect themselves incase of any typhoon or bad weather because Tanah Melayu are protected from that by Indonesia and Japan(?)😅,so it's a win-win situation to us and foreigners because our place became popular and flourish in business so our acceptance of foreigners are actually drilled in our blood just by looking in the history🤗🤗

The main reason Malaysia is attractive due to our "santai" culture. Meaning carefree attitude, if you can adapt to our weaknesses like hot/wet weather all year long, bad traffic, late to work & so on, the rest will be very easy. Even alien from Mars will able to adapt to living here. Being "santai" we have high degree of tolerance towards any broken language or culture. You can wear short & slipper into posh shopping mall & nobody will blink their eyes. Basically as long you never touches any religious & racial sensitivity Malaysia has room for everyone.

Last time I read that the Japanese residing in Malaysia has increased up to 31,000 people as of October 2020. That's roughly 0.1% and impressive. Japan is also among the top 5 countries to travel by Malaysians. Really hope that after this COVID-19 situation becomes better, more Japanese people can come to Malaysia and we Malaysians can also visit Japan ❤❤❤

There is always a tendency for each of us to have this "grass is always greener on the other side" mentality. I'm a Malaysian & I adore Japan & the Japanese culture. In my opinion, Japanese are very responsible people and they have good upbringing, respect their elders and also very inventive. That was why in the 80s Malaysia decided to embrace the Japanese way of doing things by implementing the "Look East Policy."

I'm currently living in Alor Setar, Kedah but I guess the only place in Kedah that's well known is Island Langkawi and not the mainland Kedah. The truth is mainland Kedah is not that well known to foreigners compared to Langkawi and other states in Malaysia. From the northern region parts of Peninsular Malaysia, Penang and Langkawi stood out the most while Perlis and mainland Kedah were often missed out by foreigners. You must visit Sabah state. Locations like one, Kundasang Highland & Kinabalu National Park. Second the nature and biodiversity of the Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary and last but not least, the beautiful Sipadan and Ligitan Islands. Besides this you should try to experience certain festivals and celebrations In Malaysia like Thaipusam at Batu Caves, Selangor (Jan), The Chingay Festival In Johor Bahru, Johor (21st day of Chinese New Year..normally in Feb), the St Anne's Festival In Bukit Mertajam town, Penang (June) and Christmas in Portuguese Village in Melaka city. Hope you can travel around and see the real Malaysia. Cheers!

Very well done video. How long have you been here? Oftentimes the grass is always greener on the other side. Maybe the Japanese like to move here, but many Malaysians also choose to move somewhere else.. which is why we have this “brain drain”. Many non Malaysians admire a Malaysian’s ability to speak many languages, but that is at a superficial level. Most Malaysians do not master even a single language, or maybe one, which is the language of their own race, or if you’re like me, then maybe it’s English. If you try to talk to most Malaysians on a deeper level on any subject, e.g. “Covid”, you’d discover that they’ll find very hard to understand you precisely because their ability with languages is at a very basic level. And here’s a little secret. Malaysians generally treat these groups well: whites, Japanese, Koreans & Hong Kongers, especially if they’re attractive like you. As for other groups, then it depends on what race is the Malaysian you’re talking to. For example, you’ll find that a Malaysian Chinese who’s brought up quite exclusively in the Chinese culture and language do not particularly like talking to blacks, other SE Asians or Mid-Eastern people. They don’t even like talking to Malaysians of other races. If you want proof of this, ask them to show you their Facebook or IG list of friends and see how many Malaysians of other races they would have. They may deny this in the comments but they know this is true. The truth is we are superficially tolerant but fundamentally divided. When Malaysians are outside Malaysia or if we are talking to a non Malaysian, we refer to ourselves as Malaysians. But back home, or in a localised context, we often refer to ourselves as Chinese, Malay, Indian, etc… suddenly we’re not “Malaysian” anymore. It’s like we know how to put on a united front with outsiders, but resort back to our true nature once the outsider is gone.

Thank you for coming to my channel and watching my videos! Yes, Malaysia is one of the most comfortable country to live in especially for foreigners! People are just so nice here and it is easy to get along with. Unlike other countries where language is a huge barrier, just like Japan. Thank you again!
