Cant be lazy vs kazuya and you cant be lazy as a kazuya player. I will always respect the character as being optimized with kazuya requires tons of effort and consistency to be successful.

I think one of the reasons why kazuya is so popular is because fighting game players in general are probably more likely to be seeking a challenge overcome and because how difficult kazuya is to play it maximize that feeling of overcoming a challenge.

The real protagonist of Tekken is Kazuya. He is the main character in 1, the villain in 2, opens the trailer for 4 and 5, is the cover in 6, co-star with Heihachi in 7 and villain in 8. He is also the one who appears the most in other games like Smash Bros ultimate and Street Fighter VS Tekken cover Pd: Jin fought Azazel and he was hurt all of Tekken 7. Kazuya is a badass character. I fell in love with him in Tekken 4. That "yakuza" aesthetic he had fit the character so well. But it wasn't until T5 that the character really found his present day identity. All his new animations had a whole new level of style and ferocity that elevated the character to even greater heights of badassery. It's like his sole purpose and focus is on sadistically crushing his opponent's soul into oblivion. But there's a seething stillness and patient discipline that the character has before he explodes into action. Like the destruction of his opponent is inevitable and already determined by fate. His stoic and indomitable nature is why he's one of my favorite characters.

He’s just the perfect character. He’s a Badass, he’s extremely rewarding to use despite being the hardest character in the game to pilot by a very large margin, and he’s addictive. I’ve been maining him for 30 years, myself. Very happy that he’s no longer trash tier after patch 1.05! Sick video as always bro.

Honestly, I can’t be ever mad at a good Kaz player if I ever face one. There’s always something so satisfying with his combo strings and gameplay style. That’s why he’s one of my fave Tekken characters

One thing I love about Kazuya is how complex of a character he is. Him being thrown off by a cliff, trauma he had from his childhood, etc. Gameplay wise, I like his moveset and to me his pretty simple to use. Tekken 4 was my first. I love his formal outfits and his military armor from TK:6. His karate gi is cool. But I personally don’t like it that much. To most iconic Kaz fans, his most iconic battle grunt is “DORYA”. From TK:1-Tag Tournament, “TWAH” was another iconic voice. Now, both DORYA and TWAH are together. Making Kaz badass than ever! Kaz main forever!

I’m 35 years old I have every Tekken title to date including T8 and I’m ranked Tekken God he defines the true definition of Tekken he’s such a simple but complex character and his lore is unmatched . I still watch the animated cartoon lol yes even in 2024👉🏾💯🔥👌🏾😎

I went from barely knowing who he was, to loving him when he was released in smash, then absolutely E N A M O R E D when I picked up Tekken 8. I'm a new Tekken player with Tekken 8 and picked up Kazuya because of his inclusion in Smash. I've gotta say, he's incredibly fun and rewarding to play, even if he can't cheat like some of the other characters. Awesome character design, fun moveset, and just so much fun!

Good video! I don’t know why we Kazuya mains stay with that guy! He forces you to play other characters and learn their strengths and weaknesses so that u can use it against them while u r playing him! Been a Kaz main since Tekken 2 on the PlayStation2 console, and I wouldn’t have it no other way!

I remember the time when I got into Tekken for the first time. Kazuya reminded me of Vegeta. When I saw the Electric Wind God Fist (EWGF) for the first time, I was determined to learn the move set. However, I didn't realize how difficult it was to perform the EWGF. I spent 5 hours a day trying to learn this move for about 3-4 months but could never hit it. I gave up trying to learn it and took a 3 or 4 week break from Tekken 7. When I came back to play the game, all of a sudden something clicked, and it became so easy that now I'm very consistent with the move.

I never even tried Kazuya in tekken 7. It wasn't until I played with him in smash that I decided to try him in Tekken. The wider gap in the electric gave me enough trust to finally play him. So thanks smash I guess.

Was a kid when Tekken 1 came out and mashed with 3 characters mostly. Kazuya because he wore sneakers that looked like mine, Law because he made the same sounds as Liu Kang who was my favorite in MK, and after my cousin unlocked him Armor King because he was a big black cat with spikes. Parents got me Tekken 2 and with the amount of times Kazuya and Devil beat my ass, I had to main him from that point on without even knowing what that meant yet. Him and Armor King. Took quite a while to get 3 and I remembered being disappointed in Kazuya not being there so I played mostly Forest since Armor King was dead too. But my two goats returned in Tag. Been rocking ever since, and it all started because of sneakers.

I'm shit at Tekken in general, esp Kaz sadly. But I can confirm that he's the funnest character to play and watch. I can't describe it But hey, among the things that make him cool, you forgot to mention his voice. Seriously, Shinohara-san is doing such a fantastic job voicing Kazuya. I'll die on the hill that he's the best voiced character in the entire series.

Bro, Kazuya is the definition of drip. Dude rocks a gator skin tailored suit that's purple(my favorite color and also seen as a color of royalty and the crown chakra) has immaculate shoe game, and has been across the entire spectrum morally. If you want your anime protagonist, play Jin. If you want the grizzled seen some shit soldier on a warpath(while still remaining stylish) you play Kazuya.

Kazuya is the only character in Tekken 2 to do a side step. The rest is history.

I like Kazuya cause in a way he's the most simple character to face. Tiny moveset with very distinct animations means he takes 3 hours to learn how to play against.

I started tekken from T3 when Jin was a Kaz clone. I remember going to an arcade to try T4 for the first time and picking up Jin to find out he no longer did Mishima style. I was like what is happening??? Where’s my 1,1,2… wtf.. WTF

I heard a comparison a while back that kinda made it easy to understand, especially since so much of the smash community is the new audience for Tekken or Kazuya as a character. He's popular because he's like the Melee Fox of the game. High execution character who ends up being the icon of his game, and who has a mechanic central to his gameplan that defines a lot of his high execution, but it's hard in a way that's easy for a new player to both understand how it works and to grasp the difficulty of. While having the depth, mindgames, and weak enough disadvantage to keep high level players engaged and thrilled. Melee's incarnation of Fox is definitely more of a one hit wonder while Kazuya was forged through refinement and legacy.

Kazuya was always a favorite character of mine. When Tekken 4 released in 2002 for ps2, I first picked Kazuya, trying out his moves and played arcade mode with him. Kazuya was the first character I choose to use in tekken 8 online going against another Kazuya player.

Man. He’s who I flocked to in the demo when getting into Tekken, I know he is a HARD ass character to learn and play effectively. I’m getting better with executing PEWGF, and I finally hit Red rank with him! Challenging but so fun to play.

Kaz is just perfect everything about him hits he’s extremely rewarding especially being one of the hardest characters in the game to play and master, hopefully we could see kazuya be played in a major tournament and win with no bs but just the way he is very honest need amazing fundamentals and just be a good player.

I started Tekken 7 when I saw the first trailer for Tekken 8. I started the game with Kazuya, the game being HELL is an understatement at that time. But the satisfaction when I became decent with him was amazing. Im at Kishin with Kazuya now, and I enjoy playing him more than anything. I like everything about the character, sound design, looks, moves and play style. "It was perfect down to the last minute details"

6:24 is Kazuya really the villain of Tekken 7? In my eyes you played as the villain for most of the game (Heihachi) and Akuma was a secondary villain. Maybe it’s because I had context and just thought the ending was kazuya’s moment as the guy

I may be more of a Jin fan when it comes to the Mishimas, but I will never disrespect Kazuya. I've always had respect for him throughout the series. The character and his general design over the years is one that I always love to see in action, even if I myself don't see myself playing him. . I want to derust some of my Jin stuffs. But Kazuya is definitely a character I'd like to try and learn at some point in T8's lifecycle.

As a Feng Wei loyalist since T5 I’d love to see a future video covering him and exploring why they are failing to develop his character despite him supposedly being Harada’s favourite… He’s one of the most beautifully designed and animated characters in the game yet they just won’t give him an ounce of story time or character development…

Every time I fight a kazuya, I respect it, even on a lost, because I don't feel like I lost to BS (especially Lili, Nina, asuka, and king). I feel like I went into a real match with someone. And yes I main Jin. (Jin, kazuya, and yoshimitsu)

Tekken 8 was my first fighting game, Lee and Kazuya seemed like the coolest in the game but I used to be scared cuz everyone said theyre so hard. I'm still trash but I enjoy playing them the most. Electric is one of the best feeling moves in any video game ever

He’s just a badass! Like design of him had gotten way cooler! His quotes in game is fire!

It's pretty simple cause he's bad ass and originally had a very mysterious duality to him that unfortunately Namco squandered when they turned him into a somewhat generic 2D villain in later games. He stands toe to toe with Akuma, and even capcom has shown him pretty comfortably handling ryu and Ken at the same time. 😂. But for me it's the gameplay. Theres nothing more satisfying in the entire realm of video games than landing an abolishing electric wind godfist launch to kill your opponent from out of no where. And he's a character that takes skill, timing and dedication to be good with. and let's be honest the moveset has always just looked bad ass. Demon god fist, hellsweep hook, ect. Dude is as iconic as it gets.

As a player, Kazuya has that barrier of difficulty that really makes it hard for me to really get into playing the character. Having said that, due to that difficulty, no doubt there's respect to be given to the players who main him. Not to mention, there's that aura of coolness that Kazuya always oozes & in viewer's perspective, he's a treat to watch. Was gonna mention perhaps you can do other character like Yoshi, the Bears etc (have a bit of break until you do Jin), but with that, it came to mind. Have you considered expanding your "Why everyone loves/hates" etc series to characters beyond just the Tekken 8 roster? For example, "Why everyone love Lei Wu Long" or "Why everyone hates Lucky Chloe" etc etc. Of course, some of those you cover may get added as DLC, but some may not (like Bruce for example, highly unlikely they'll add him given Fahk is more likely with the leaks).

I love Kazuya. He is also super handsome again! Though honestly I really dislike these pumped up bodies he and some other characters have now. (It doesn't even make sense!) Honestly he was at his best in TTT1. Loved that realistic face and body at that time that aside his character is great. Though Harada constantly chose that awful downhill path for him - now there is hope. Would be great if he'd be the Center of the next (and hopefully not, but possible last Tekken). A Kazuya story centered game would be great! With more Insight to his perspective would be awesome. We already got Heihachi and Jin

My 9 years old son don't like fighting games. I started playing tekken 8 again practicing vs computer. while my son is watching. i'm against kazuya and the computer started wavedashing so fast that my son wants to play the game. and now he knows how to wavedash hellsweep consistently.
