When this match was over I sent a text to a friend and said, "You can not wrestle a more perfect match." I have never in 40 years seen a match on TV so well done.
When you said that Kenny didn't have an Okada-type partner in AEW before Danielson arrived, that made so much sense. Even in the promo the previous week when Brian said 'I want to talk to Kenny Omega' , it felt like he was calling out the Kenny from NJPW. This felt like a match that could have been for Wrestle Kingdom.
@Black Boy King TV the thing is I feel like the young bucks are very easy to work with they are an amazing tag team and know exactly how they’re style fits on the card and know exactly when to go all out and put on the best match possible, however with Kenny of course he always wants to put on a good/great match but he can take it up to another level when it’s with someone he feels he can and he feels he can actually make a truly special match with however that being said I feel like he always could make a special match with other people but I feel he was saving it for someone like a Bryan Danielson or a okada or someone like that that he feels could be his equal and he feels he could get that special crowd reaction which I feel is the smartest way to go about it in my honest opinion because in that situation no matter who wins or loses it will be an absolutely amazing match if omega wins he gets more heat and he gets more legitimized as a champion than he already is and we potentially get another match vs Bryan, if Bryan wins the roof will blow off the arena and omega will definitely want a rematch so it’s definitely a win win
@@Theo-dg2zv Hard disagree.... His wrestling style is different and traditional US-type slow style wrestling compared to Kenny and Okada''s JP-type technical type wrestling.
What a fucking classic that match was! Danielson’s first match in AEW didn’t disappoint! He took some serious V-Triggers too. Credit to both guys! Can’t wait to see their next match together!
I felt like I saw my era's HBK and Bret Hart but this was better. I felt butterflies in my stomach before the match started for some reason. Then the crowd giving a standing ovation before the match started. Made me emotional not to tears. But a feeling of pride. Great Pro WRESTLING is back in the big stage. I was in awe. AEW means so much to me.
Even better if you consider the Danielson 2016 retirement and then his comeback in 2018, in both times he had heartful promos and makes this moment even more appreciated
Bryan has now been part of the two best debut matches I’ve ever seen; the first against the Shield and now his own against Omega. That’s quite an achievement.
"...so what do you do when you're the best in the world? You go after the person who's also claiming to be the best..." Tranquilo Club, September 2021.
I said it before and I'll say it again. I've never watched anything with a crowd rection like the opening bit from this match live. Rock vs Hogan levels of heat
I'm not the biggest fan of AEW I've stopped being a hardcore wrestling fan since 2016 but matches like these give me reasons to tune in, this match was so incredible I feel it opening the show was really nice and this match was just a classic Bryan is a phenomenal worker I loved it and definitely my favorite match in AEW history
I think it says more about this match that even the people who _aren't_ huge fans of AEW (like yourself) are still talking about it. That's when you know they're doing something right.
@@Tcrror Actually, Cornette's been VERY complimentary towards AEW here recently (I know, I'm shocked, too). Like, to the point his Cult of Cornette fans have been getting pissy with Cornette because all they want to hear is Cornette bash AEW. But I think the tide turned with Cornette when Tony Khan said some very kind words about Bobby Eaton upon news of his passing and that definitely touched Cornette (who was a long-time friend of Eaton's). So yeah... I don't know if Cornette's trying to angle for a job with AEW or something but, he's not been overly hostile towards AEW for a couple months now. He has his uses... just maybe don't put him on commentary.
The only regret with AEW is that it didn't come into existence during AJ Styles' peak. Imagine, the once in a generation megastar (AJ of course) putting on lights out matches against Bryan, Punk, Moxley and the others. Heck, we didn't even get to see AJ get his revenge on the Elite, especially Omega. That is one story that AJ definitely has to give a fitting end to before he hangs up his boots. The ultimate match that was/is years in the making (so long that people even forgot about it). Tranquilo, if you are reading this, do make it a point to make a video somewhere along the road about the Elite betraying AJ.
Great to see that Tranquilo made a video about the match. Another one for the wrestling archive so needed in the future, after all the awesome matches.
Kenny Omega (@KennyOmegamanX) Tweeted: Finally watched back #AEWDynamite . My favorite part wasn’t further cementing my legacy as the greatest performer of all time. It was ensuring that Bryan left without a W and hobbled home looking like a lump of ground beef.
The biggest crowd reaction from before the start of the match and the actual match itself. This may have honestly been the best match I've ever actually seen, wasn't in person but on TV I was glued.
Bryan Danielson vs. Kenny Omega was incredible. The time limit draw was the right call because you know they will wrestle again. I loved how the time limit draw happened while they were trading hits instead of Omega barely not tapping out, both guys down, or someone barely not getting the pin fall. Easily one of my favorite matches of 2021. I would love for AEW to release this match without commercials on their RU-vid channel.
I see a lot of people say they need to do an Iron match but that’s not case this match ended in a draw so I honestly think a 2 out of 3 falls match would better because there’s no limits of how long they can go.
2014 was a breaking point for both Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega. Danielson was at the peak after pulling double duty at WM30...and then injury & loss crashed down on him irl. Omega had to change to become an unstoppable force and reach his best friend on the top no matter what. Now at this point in 2021, is still surreal both facing each other and giving us a MOTY performance.
bryan daniels at G1 32 next year is going to be madness! key matches are: bryan vs ospreay (6 star potential) bryan vs okada (best all around match) bryan vs ishii (stiff match) bryan vs ibushi (scariest match) bryan vs kenta (stiffest kicking match) bryan vs shingo (stiffest neck match) bryan vs sho (sleeper 5 star match)
I honestly blacked out for a couple seconds during the match because I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing. My body couldn’t handle being there live. It was a fever dream. I never felt that way for anything it was so surreal
I've watched it 5 times and it always go by so quick. This was an absolute clinic and it was only the tip of the iceberg. These two are gonna have many insane matches. Thank you AEW.
The match was the greatest and quickest 30 minutes I have ever seen. Though for them fighting again maybe a best two out of three to tell a story in that match. Iron man could still work if planned right but two out of three is my preferred pick 60-40
I want Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles to join AEW and wrestle Omega. Though AJ said this is his last contract, but AJ should wrestle Kenny before he retires even if it is just one off.
It’s just paced well. Genuinely I haven’t seen a crowd like that for a match since (CM Punk’s All Out match but also) Rock vs Cena 1 at WM28. That was nearly a decade ago. The last time a non WWE American pro wrestling company had a match with the crowd that election on a massive stage might be Goldberg vs Hogan from Nitro in 1998. It’s what Bryan Danielson said he would achieve when he entered AEW: excellent professional wrestling.
Who knew a man named Kenny Omega from Winnipeg would reignite my love for wrestling? Yet here we are. I won’t be watching dynamite weekly, because I am almost 40, but you bet your ass I’m catching all the great clips on RU-vid. Can’t wait to see Punk vs Omega
Totally agree on everything I have absolutely nothing but great things to say about AEW and that match but separate from that, I hope that Hangman isn't falling through the cracks, I don't think he is and AEW for me has more than earned my willingness to give them the benefit of the doubt. Is anyone else feeling the same
Dude's taking some paternity leave, and resting his body a bit - he'll be back, and the Hangman has two jobs to do when he returns. Straighten out the Dark Order, and take Pretty Platinum off Omega...
I expected my buddies and I to be real high energy watching this match having just come off being at All Out in person but what actually happened was we all just kinda stared in awe at the TV screen with occasional comments and pops, what a great match! I hope Hangman Page still gets included in this somehow but I'm not sure now.
This was truly special and was one for the ages. Legitimately two of my favourite wrestlers of the last decade in a match, I didn't think was possible earlier this year. What a great time to be a pro-wrestling fan!
I agree with you when you said that Omega is missing that Okada-like opponent in NA, and Danielson is that missing piece. If this is what AEW wants to mirror to ie. the Okada-Omega Trilogy, then I'm most certainly very excited.
Two weeks after Bryan Danielson debut, AEW already gave fans a dream match meanwhile in other Universe, fans still waiting for Lashley vs Lesnar and it's been 3 years now
That match was very technically sound, high flying and explosive, AND these guys punished each other with strikes on top of that. It was a great day to be a wrestling fan. Plus Bryan is pals with Christian and the Jurassic Express which gives me some hope in the larger Super Elite vs Good Guys feud.
I am so grateful I got to attend this match. I've been to many great moments in wrestling history, and this was still incredibly, uniquely SPECIAL. I couldn't hear the beginning of Punk's promo after the match because my ears were still ringing. I knew Danielson was special watching him wrestle a dark match before a Smackdown taping way back. I was able to attend WM37 and Bryan main event. And then, this, amazing stuff.
Love that a wrestler can't debut and get a title match 7 days later. That's one thing I've always hated about other pro wrestling promotions. This match was better than it would have had Danielson skipped the line.
As much of a headscratcher the fight record is in AEW, it's to prevent moves like that. Since I started watching wrestling in March I've seen WWE give absent wrestlers like Gildberg titleshots and it feels like a hollow ploy to get eyes on WWE. Impact does this too, like what they did with Christian.
The first time I ever watched professional wrestling is when I came across it while TV serving and seeing a segment between Bryan and the authority post Summerslam 2013 The first time I watched non-WWE wrestling was the 2017 G1 special after thinking Kenny Omega looked cool on the poster. This was very special to me.
AEW brought me back after 20 + years of not attending a live event. I had the pleasure of being there live at Arthur Ashe Stadium with my 13 yr. old son. The electricity felt when that match opened the main card was off the charts.
I love that Bryan didn't get goofy heel Omega (who I do enjoy) but he got the best bout machine. No silly facial hair or outfits, no shenanigans or run ins, no cowardly actions... just one of the best ever facing one of the best ever.
I thought I saw it all when I saw a crowd pop for Yujiro Takahashi shaking Yuji Nagata's hand in the g1, but now I've seen a crowd pop for the opening bell to start a match.
It's also great to see two fantastic wrestlers wrestle a brilliant match and having fun starting to tell a story that I think will be going on for a few years.
I LOVE this video. Great work bro. And yes thus was definitely top 5 best matches of all time. I can only imagine what they're rematch would be. I will surely be amazed
Such an incredible match and a great video. For me, this was the calibre of Rock vs Hogan again for me and felt like it. I was literally tingling :) a wrestling fever dream of perfection. Absolutely spot on too, I said the same thing that there is so much more to go in this rivalry despite how good the first match was, I hope it'll be the same as with Okada when you could have your favourite match (and it changes) in the series - plus you always think it can't be topped or the in-ring story expand, but it does. Can't wait. And on another note, imagine when we get a settled in Punk vs a prime unleashed Danielson too.
I was there live at Arthur Ashe stadium. Everything was perfect for this match. When this started Dynamite, the crowd was so 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 even before they did any moves. Such an electric night. I love Daniel heel work in AEW. Hope you cover that too, unless I miss the vid. Awesome content my dude.
It was art and everything a wrestling match used to be as a bare minimum, regardless of where it was on the card or how long the match was. Proper storytelling. Can't wait for the next one.
You never failed to impress with the work put in the video! Tranquilo club ? yes, indeed we are witnessing glorious phase of Pro Wrestling right through our eyes.
Perfect match by 2 GOATs. Man I had the same Okada thought!!!! 😲 And like with Okada, this rivalry will lead to Kenny turning babyface after losing the belt to Hangman. Superkliq (or Mount Rushmore?) will turn on him. And like what happened in Japan, Omega will reunite with his old partner. Hangman will play Ibushi's role here.
