Why Long Ring Long Land is actually one of the BEST One Piece Arcs 

I honestly wish we got more arcs like this. Really short, pretty inconsequential and just time for characters to compliment each other

You're definitely right! In this moment the Davey Back fight seemed like such a big new concept we were given, and then haven't seen it again. Those connections are crazy, and I bet that you may be right to this reaccuring! I hated how this arc made me feel, but it was also such a good one! It was a really funny arc. The island was cool itself, and then those parts he broke it up by showing how weak he was to being made fun of made it better in the moment. Afro Luffy is the best. Great video!!!

Hadn't thought about the Blackbeard connection for the Final Saga, this is a really cool theory cuz we all know how Oda is about connections in his story and calling back to anything we thought was just a side part that didn't matter. Just picked up OP after quitting 10 years ago after just this very arc so it's great to see all the development since then and the ways that even this can get put together now that it's wrapping up. Based opinion. They always had enemies to match their strength starting from Arlong. Although admittedly it was goofier, "not taking seriously" has always been before or after the major events. Arlong, Alabasta, Drum Island, Jaya all were serious and tragic. LRLL is just an arc about nothing, the jokes is only fun when in moderation. Major advancements are the first 2 episodes only. There is no need to remember, currently rewatching one piece, 16, or how many it was, episodes lasted forever.

Afro Luffy and the comedy are peak. Also the German dub

I would say you did a pretty good job, especially since this was your first video. I didn’t find Foxy annoying personally, I found him funny. I think the Davey back fight is gonna be used when Luffy meets with Shanks to show them fight without having hostility to each other.

I like the random goofy nature of the arc and don't mind Foxy. My only complaint is that it drags on too long. What should have been a 3-5 episode mini arc lasts for over 12 episodes. Just when it's about to reach a satisfying conclusion they add ANOTHER davy back fight undoing everything you just watched and it starts to outstay its welcome, like a movie that doesn't know when to end. Also the second davy back fight is just anime-only filler anyway.

I started watching one piece on adult swim and they started with long ring long land so yeah I haven't watched anything prior to it lmao but I remember loving the arc

Eh, I can see where you're coming from, but IMO, Long Ring Long Land is still kinda weak as far as arcs go. Not a lot actually happens in the grand scheme of things, and while granted that can be a good change of pace, it also leaves the plot to just kinda sit there not moving. Not to mention, Foxy himself is obnoxious, especially in the anime. Though I do confess his dub and sub did a good job with the materials given. And I get it, we're supposed to hate Foxy, but there's a distinct difference between Foxy and the other villains: There's not only a point to why they're there and doing what they're doing, but there's also some actual likeable or at least relatable/understandable traits that make you WANT to love to hate them. Foxy, while he does give this feeling some of time, ends up falling flat without a decent plot to back it up. He's just kinda annoying, with an Italian accent for some bizarre reason in the dub, and while his design is unique, there's not much else to him, y'know? However, I will concede that it's in not necessarily a bad arc. There are some great interactions between the Straw Hats, the Fox Pirates do have a unique blend of characters to it, even if we don't see much personality from the majority beyond just kissing up to Foxy. And Afro Luffy...MAN, it was like seeing a combination of Shaft and Randy Savage about to lay the smackdown on that split-headed numbskull. Bottom line: I both agree and disagree with this; yes it's not the worst arc, and yes, it has its moments. But other than showing us Kuzon for the first time and beginning the Water 7 Saga, there isn't much done in the scope of the plot. If you're looking for a quick, fun time, you'll get your berries worth, but you won't find much beyond that. I dunno, maybe I'm just spoiled by the big arc changes over the years.
