bleach incognito flux prevents Oxidation... it’s practically impossible to solder without it, most solder has flux inside it. The oxidation layer prevents the metals from combining. Flux is used in metal working as well as electronic soldering, The flux is just different material same function.

Nice work, as usual! Today I received a customer's HP laptop with a problem. Intermittent power, no fan spin. Opened it up only to discover "liquid" damage and extensive corrosion. I believe they took it scuba diving...at Ron Jeremy's house. I'm currently still marinating my hands in sanitizer after a five minute 90% rubbing alcohol burn and a deep tissue hydroflouric acid rub, just for good measure. I love my job.

Automaton 42 just depends what you expect out of it I guess. I’ve had a Mac laptop for a few years that I use for work and it’s never caused me trouble. I can’t think of any mods to hardware I’d do on any laptop so it wasn’t an issue to me

@@StrangeAstro For $1,500-2,000.00 I'd expect to have a laptop that not only functions after years but I could also upgrade it so I don't have to spend another 1-2k just to get a minor upgrade. It's not hard to do and you would actually make more money if you supplied the hardware for such upgrades like ssd , memory or even colored butterfly keyboards. But no Apple keeps with the same formula so they can say Think Different! . Sorry but the only thing different is cost effectiveness.

I'm in the market for a new printer (ALL-IN-ONE) I have been looking at the HP Officejet 6950 and I think I will buy that printer. I have found a few online stores that sells it for just under €90,- (shipping included) But then I also saw the SAME printer in the online Apple store for €140,- WTF.

Not a macbook but last week I changed my Ipod Classic's battery, I bought it in 2010 and it was about time; around 5 years ago I replaced the HDD because the original broke (I removed it from PC the hard unsafe way) and after talking with Ipod Store in my country and they tell me it wasn't worth it I bought a 240GB Toshiba HDD on Amazon and works like a charm, I hope with the new battery it will lasts more years!. The only Apple product I have and the only that may worth the price back then.

Why before starting to solder chips don't you clean all the corrosion with isopropyl alcohol? and after it work with the solder? In my experience most of the time a toothbrush and some isopropyl solves all the problems with corrosion if there's no broken connections or damaged chips. turning on a board without first removing all the corrosion and moist with alcohol might get the problem worse
