To be honest I see more bless dhide users in toa then I do armadyl/masori only the real high invo teams other then that 300s people fly by in it and I even see mystic in the mix with no issues
@@toom4234 no shit bro I do it mobile solo 😂😂😂 I’m just saying 50plus mil or a mil shouldn’t deter people max teams want the best when u can do it in normal dhide or god is my point
Blessed d'hide is actually a defence upgrade over black d'hide since the nerf. Blessed d'hide is essentially old pre-nerf black dhide + the prayer bonus, so is a decent upgrade for CoX.
The mindset of needing BIS is very much put on everyone by the community, I remember trying to do Zulrah just for the diaries and looking at guides and being frustrated that all of them suggested using blowpipe, which I couldn't afford. Feel like things have gotten better now since that was quite a few years ago now and BIS costs so much more compared to back like 3 - 5 years ago, so it's more apparent that not everyone can afford it, but a lot of new players still get scared off by the most popular youtubers and community members only using BIS.
The idea of needing a blowpipe to do Zulrah never sat well with me. What if I am playing an Ironman account and can't just buy a blowpipe from someone? I guess I am just forever locked out of that content since the item I "need" to do Zulrah is locked behind killing Zulrah? The same could be said of needing the *big* drops from raids to.. do raids.. Yea the community has this really warped idea that everyone just has a 1 bill cash stack sitting in their inventory as "spending money" ontop of the cash stack that they keep in their bank and it definitely comes from the fact that many content creators only ever play with BiS gear. Something that most people in this community don't seem to understand is that those very same content creators have spent *SO* much more time playing this game than the average player to amass that amount of GP, or they simply sold bonds to get GP quickly (not shaming them, its just a fact that it happens).
How to do end-game content on a 100m budget: Step 1 - Have 1B budget so you can practice with end-game gear for 100+hrs per piece of content. Step 2 - Equip 100m budget gear and do the content you're now experienced at. Anyone know a good loanshark?
I'm not sure if he maxed before or after he started tobbing, but there's a chance he just did tob with a whip at first. The only ones i disagree with are cms and inferno. Bowfa is cheap and inferno with acb sounds miserable. But like tasty said, void is great in tob. And tob has pretty common purples so you can definitely start building your bank with it if you decide to learn it.
@@dolparadise3040 I'm the most casual casual who ever casualled. It takes me eons to get cash because I can rarely stomach super long grinds, and I don't know how to do bosses (nor do I really have the stable internet connection to do so reliably, though that may change soon). Also, it's not really related to net worth, but in all of my time playing I have never achieved a single 99 in any skill.
@@keiton9512 I play an ok amount, kinda on and off most of the time, but I sometimes get really addicted again and play for fairly long stints. And I have never gambled in my life. I don't even do somewhat dangerous content unless I'm very sure I won't lose anything valuable to me.
@@YeetMeDadi I've carried learners through hundreds of raids. Wdr new is not toxic. At all. And mentor raids are not toxic. At all. The whole point of those two raids is to take people who are dogshit at the content. If you're bad at the raid, there are thousands of people better than you on WDR. The only time WDR sucks is when you want to run max eff raids and 99% of lfr-exp is full of mediocre players.
To be fair, after subtracting all the money from the gear, you're going to still need a lot more money to upkeep supplies (runes/scales/pots/etc.) if you're trying to learn the Inferno from scratch with basically only a blowpipe.
if you cannot afford 100m, then you should definitely not be attempting zuk. And if you have 100m bank, you likely have unlocked gp generating methods to upkeep supplies cost.
Disliked, as someone who works 16 jobs for my 8 different families and regularly touches grass( foreign activity for most of you) having a requirement of 100m bank is highly unrealistic and jagex should really do something to fix this as it is the main reason why this game is dying due to how unfeasible the barrier of entry to content is. Even if i could make 1 gp per second it would take 1157 days to make 100m absolutely abhorrent reqs to play a game you pay for. Disgusting company
Great vid and valid points. I’ve done my own from scratch a couple times. Problem isn’t skill. It’s that when doing team content most end-game players tell you to kick rocks if you don’t have multi-bil gear and/or high kc. Can make learning hard and demotivating. Problem is most those guys aren’t changing either
cox is solo content / toa is solo content - tob is team based and yes not all tobbers with high kc are going to want to raid with learners but there's tons of learners you can learn tob with. If you can't get solo cox or solo toa kc then you need to get some more skill lol
Agreed with all that. I have inferno/have done all solo, minus tob. As I said, it’s not a skill issue. But learning solo cox is aids. And soloscape just gets so dull. It causes as much burnout as anything. Not arguing any points. Just saying the total money argument is a little misplaced.
I think the love of gp is a serious issue. The game was meant to find accomplishments from pvm. Collection log hunting should be the real passion of the players not just getting 10b gp and hoarding wealth. Playing ironman will remind you what the game is really about and how to discover new content.
So you need very expensive gear to learn how to do end game content properly to be able to do it in cheap gear to realize its an inefficient way of doing things.
Part of the reason people think this way is because of certain members of the high level community in pvm discords (e.g. gear, wdr) telling people wanting to try content x that they are wasting their time and should instead do content y for 100 hours to make money for a better setup for content x. Of course the decision is made by the player themselves, but the discouragement doesn't help.
Money doesn’t matter “if you are top 1% skill in osrs” 7asty has solo’d tob and done many infernos and other challenging things. although you could argue anyone could do this it’s not true to the average player. I may sound like a Reddit user but this isn’t a reality for most players to be this good at the game. Anyways nice video man you’re a beast.
you correct iam at 2090 total and lvl 126, and most players banks are at 20-30mil. having 99s in combat stats is very rare because it takes alot of time. And yes this isnt the reality for most players to be good at the game let alone have good gear.
So there is a major difference between doing this content in budget gear and learning this content in budget gear especially if you have a limited bank. For you the prospect of losing an inventory of supplies is probably nothing whereas people who actually have this restriction have probably 90% of their bank wrapped up in the gear. For those people with a 3m cash stack and that's it after buying gear how many times do you think they are willing to spend 100-300k in a run only to fail and get no loot? Take it from someone who has done it more than once nothing feels worse than running in a group and telling them you have to stop because your out of supplies and can't afford to keep doing the content. After you do that enough times you get gun shy because you realize the only way the content is REALLY worth it is if you can go enough times to get the big drop that makes it worth it.
I think r/2007scape posters should have their lungs taken out until they complete 1 fire cape without making a detailed essay about the panic attack they had on healers
I mean my irons got a 240m bank(done very little bossing mind u) and I'm pretty sure my uim invy is like 80m(0% bossing minus barrows, I think ppl just get a lazy mind set or just a casual player. I think you should've shown what 100m and what a 1bil looks like. Just my opinion ofc great vid man keep up the solid uploads
Dont wait for the bigger bank, go ahead and do it with the entry level items. Get good enough at it with them and when they drop the big ticket items, you can start buying the BIS gear and make it look so much easier because you used to do it with the crap stuff
I had a 10m bank back in like 2016 when I decided fuck it I'm gonna learn Zulrah. I knew fuck all about pvm and did it in mystics and dhide with a regular trident and a magic shortbow. It took me a ton of attempts but I eventually got it down and it was the gateway to learning a lot more pvm and making more gp. I now have almost a 1b bank.
Also it's so much Fun to learn content in semi-scuff gear, actually get upgrades or cash from that content en both improve your skills and gear while doing the content!
I’m probably one of the trashcan PvMers this video is targeted toward because I’m obsessed with being able to use max gear but my strategy personally is to just do content I can afford max gear for and build my bank that way. I did a lot of Nex pre-ToA because max range minus Tbow was very affordable with Arma being BiS. Nex and ToA made me enough money that now I have max hybrid minus Tbow, so this includes Torva Masori Fang etc. and I also just enjoy Nex and run a big Nex FFA fc and that’s kind of just the niche I’ve carved for myself, I’m just the Nex main basically lol
I do agree with you. I have the mind set that your preaching against but I try to be very frugal by going for very specific gear. Besides the weapon slot. I do feel like the weapon is more important besides all the rest. Example of my melee setup below Helm of Neitiznot, Fire cape, God blessing, Abyssal whip, Fighter’s torso, Dragon defender, Obsidian platelegs, Barrows gloves, Dragons boots, Warrior’s ring (i).
My first Fire cape I started at 61 ranged and finished at 86 ranged and finally got my cape. The whole time I was trying to do it with blessed dhide and a rune crossbow, but as soon as I bought full armadyl and a blowpipe for everything except mages, and Crystal bow for for mages, I beat it in 3 tries.
i agree 100 percent, i got my first fire cape at lvl 124. I was 85 range and lvl 109 combat and had like 70 prayer then i tried 4 times and kept dying during the healer part. I trained to 99 range and i was lvl 124 and 85 prayer, and i changed one thing i bought the prayer rigour for 25 mil. I was now able to out-dps all the healers and kill jad.
@@loismylane ye probably, but I play video games to escape capitalism the best I can cause we can't irl. So it didn't take much for me to have the fun drained
@@loismylane yeah this is a mindstate not the nature of game. irons think they found the game again at low levels but at endgame they will see the truth lol
@@loismylane drops are always good on any account for sure, but sometimes on my iron I find myself saying ‘dude let’s go to toa, I need some herb seeds and it drops hella’. I think I find much more pleasure and value out of the regular things on the iron that would just be seen as ‘x amount of gp’ on my main
*Only* 100 mil, it's like when a rich person says "just get a $50 coffee instead of the $100 coffee, you don't need the best" while ppl out here too poor to even go to starbucks at all
Great video and a great topic to talk about for sure! In your CM run, even before you started olm without a stam, you had used 109 purple sweets so far that raid = 610k. So yes it was "doable" with a 100m budget, but no way you're going to send CM's in that gear and spend 600k+ per raid in purple sweets. Should have left those banked.
I can't express to you all how valuable levels are. YES raids are possible with cheap gear and low stats. I've been running chambers since all 75's and toa 150+ with all 80+. No armadyl, no ancestral, and only bandos tassets. My weapons are mid tier, rapier, dhl, dragon crossbow, trident of the seas. All zenyte. I can complete the content, but my DPS is so low and solo TOAs are so slow. GET YOUR STATS UP! I've got buddies with worse gear pumping out way higher dps than me, b/c they are max cbs.
Idk you are maxed, have a lot of experience with each content, you used a very reasonable content (100m) and yet you complained so much about every single content and could barely scratch by most of it (which makes one question if it doing that content is even worthwhile). How is this supposed to be motivating for someone who isn't maxed, doesn't have experience AND doesn't have the gear on top of all that?
The fact that 90% of players are maxed and have multibillion gp banks is kinda ruining the game. Seems so stupid that you'd even need billions for max gear in RS. That number used to be absurd.
How exactly did you pay for all the skills you have to do these though. It’s not just equipment and know how, but also the skills themselves. Which subsequently cost gp to level. While I appreciate your take on this, it seems to be negligent of a major aspect of the game which also costs money.
stats are more important than gear, but experience is the only reason you are able to do any of this. this video feels less like what the title says and more like “look at me do all of this difficult content with shit gear”
Everything’s super easy check it out this the gear! Shows clip of walking into boss shows clip of leaving boss no gameplay shown yeah see it’s easy and you can do it with no gear
then there's people who buy gear and watch its prices like the stock market and getting so worked up about bank value. having gear > money that is just sitting in the bank
I can't even make enough gold to get bond, let alone 100m, course I'm shit at the game so yeah. Money does matter especially with learning the new content.
This video couldnt possibly miss the point more. As a new player (at least new to high level pvm) with ~100m bank you would likely spend only a few hours of running into a wall head first achieving nothing but spending all your leftover GP on supplies. Dont get gaslit into doing content you are not prepared for just to then quit the game. Rather Progress the game at your own pace and get to the end game pvm later.
This comment couldn’t possibly miss the point more. The idea is not that you should go ahead and do TOB or inferno once you’ve made your first 100m. It’s encouragement for the people with 100m, 500m or even 1 bil banks who are too scared to try TOA because they don’t have a Tbow. Not having BIS shouldn’t gatekeep you from doing content, but obviously you should account for your own skill level without someone having to tell you that.
It's one of those things. The better you are at the game the less money skills you need. If you're bad at bossing you need higher levels and better gear for it to be worthwhile doing . The better you get the the less the gear and stats matter.
It is very true, but even with bad gear and lack of experience it can be worthwhile to take the time to learn a boss/raid, and reach the point where it's worthwhile gp/h even with your mediocre gear. It took me about 30 attempts of Solo cox to get my first fully deathless solo cox at 85-90 ish combats and a setup of dhcb, tent whip, trident and dwh. And at the time the hardest PVM I had ever done was Vorkath. It wouldve been easier if I had stuff like sang, lance, bowfa(not in the game at the time) or tbow. But it was faster (and imo. more fun) to just go in and gain that experience as opposed to doing 75 hours of Vorkath to upgrade my gear first.
The point that these kinds of videos seem to miss is that learning a raid with better gear means you learn faster, because you don't die as often. In general positive reinforcement tends to work best on humans, so we learn faster if we're clearing raids and slowly improving our times than if we're constantly dying, which will happen if you try to learn in budget gear. I agree that you don't need BIS to do any of these pieces of content, but a lot of your skills were developed with expensive gear. This is why the gauntlet is so great, because it makes no difference what your bank is worth. It's pure skill and the learning curve is the same for everyone.
really interesting insight - Im finding with 85s-90s, even 150 TOA is out of my ballpark with ~250-300m in gear. just shows how much I need to get those levels up
