Singularity is actually really good but having to memorise and keep track of 4 survivors, 7 gens and 8 cameras while also dealing with endless EMPs requires you to be constantly using your brain like a quantum computer. It causes burnout so quickly.

I can tell you why he has a low pick rate. I mained Singularity for 7 months, and I can safely say it's because it wasn't programmed to harm the crew.

I play as Singularity often these days but I find that I either face 1 of 2 types of matches when using him. - The team that always has the EMPs in all of their hands at all times. - The team that has no idea what EMPs are for and don't use them. There's basically no middle ground. Sure a few players will pick up EMPs each match but there are many who don't get how to truly make the most of them. That being said, I more often face teams of the 4 who DO know what to do basically 8 or 9 out of 10 matches. Thus it is pretty miserable.

Comes down to the fact of swfs vs solo queue, get solo queue players it's chaos coz noones talking to each other an you can slaughter get a swf however an it's a Tactical take down all game long

IMO The singularity is one of the most fun and complex killers to play against. His lore, music and visuals are amazing! This is my favorite chapter, and it is really said no one plays them.

I agree! I love getting a Singularity as a survivor. Sadly, it's just way too complicated and unrewarding for the killer to play as him. Despite how much I visually love him and the concept of the power, he is one of the most draining killers to play with IMO

I think they should do this: -Survivors now have to print the EMPS by themselves -Once a box got printed, the next print will be 5% slower and it stacks to 20%

I think if it was a bit harder to counter his power then his pick rate would go up. You have to strategize, zone, and put in so much effort just to get 1 infection. Survivors need to open 1 box, and can cure up 4 infections and disable many cameras with it

I'd downgrade emps, make it so only like 2 emps spawn on the map. Sure a swf might be difficult if they stick to together with a buddy system. But even then 4 survivors 2 emps. Once they burn one they better find another cause they will be vulnerable especially if they split up to search.

The anti-camp mechanic related to his power is by far his biggest handicap, the clunky transitioning hurts so much and is unneeded now that the self unhook meter is in the game

It's so bad. I literally have to count to five every time I leave the hook to ensure I don't get the hindered penalty. I guess that sums up his gameplay, though; I am constantly doing some sort of counting or positioning in my head.

​@@s6rite62that part is bullshit but then again just use dragonsbreath and other gen targeting perks (most of which i have at a green or yellow color) and you can do absolutely so fucking much camp 3 gens with cameras surrounding gens from different distances and have harder skill check perks makes it so much better and unless someone is like prestige 50 they are usually fucked. And even if they do get all the gens biopod the shit out of the gates and then gg if there is more then one player

For me the clunkiness is the biggest hurdle. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ll be trying to place a pod, the targeting reticle will be blue, and yet the pods won’t stick.

In my 300hrs of playing (I’m new) I haven’t seen Singularity more than 5 times as a Survivor, and I’m Survivor 50% of the time.

I start playing again recently (had about 20 hours two years ago) and i've seen one singularity as a sruvivor. But looks like he didn't know how to play because he use his teleport one or two times. He brobably used bipods only as cameras

Fun fact, I'm a Twins main and my friend is a Singularity main and we both love them. About the anti-camp mechanic for Singu, Twins recieved it in the 7.7.0 PTB too and let me tell you, it was horrible, when it activated, but it was removed when the update came out, so yeah, Singus should be removed too. Some Photo should be basekit too, just like how Toy Sword and Tiny Fingernail did for Twins. I hope that Singu recieves an update just like Twins, because he deserves it, because he is even harder than Twins. Loved both the Twins and Singularity "Nobody plays as" videos!

Funny enouth im a Dredge Main and even though its basically never talked about..... Dredge also has a Anti Camp Mechanic. Aside from the lockers around a taken hook being completely blocked, if you return to your remnant around a hook, even if its for another chase near the hooked survivor, you will have around a 1 second delay until you can move, turn or attack. Which is not much but for specifically an antiloop power.....

There’s something about Singularity that not many people seem to notice, he is THE most dangerous killer in certain niche situations. For example, in a “only one survivor left alive, hatch closed, doors yet to be opened” scenario he’s plain unbeatable, all he has do to is put two pods overlooking the gates beforehand and plant himself halfway between the two, cycling between them constantly. There’s nothing the survivor can do against that!

I have played him and I think he’s most suitable on small maps; making his traversal powers incredibly strong. My last few matches against a Singularity on Haddonfield have been nightmares. He wasn’t very good in chase but exceeded my expectations in successfully juggling surveillance, traversal, and monitoring gens. Even when I spent most of the game disabling his pods, the maps small size meant he could just replace it pretty quickly.

Your video looks so good. No ugly filters, no low graphics, a high enough bitrate that the picture doesn't become a blurry mess whenever there's a slight camera movement. It feels so refreshing seeing someone play as the devs intended, so much that it even popped up in my mind randomly while watching. And of course, great content as well.

I play singularity quite a bit and he can either be the most fun killer in the game, or the most dull, because sometimes his power is such a chore to get around. My idea for a fair buff would be that EMPs don’t fully generate themselves and require survivors to interact with the printers for, let’s say, the last 15%, and potentially make the bonus to overclock mode per survivor slipstreamed higher and make soma family photo base kit to incentivise going for EMPs more, I think it would be more engaging for both sides that way

Hard agree with the "either on top or trash" comment, it seems like it also fully depends on Soma's Family Photo for me to have casual fun. The moment I play without it, I have to use all my IQ points on that match!

15% is way too much. Make it 5% or even 1% just so that survivors can’t grab them mid chase. Otherwise, good Singularity can force way too much slowdown on survivors.

As a singularity main, the skill ceiling is high. When i play i gotta sweat or i get stomped. Theres no in-between and only when the survivors dont use the emps. When the emps get used I literally can't do nothing. After skull merchant rework i play her now about half the time because its fun to jump scare people. The information and the undetectable you get, i like to play custuns and hear when the other side get jumped. A lot of people say her kits not fun but i think the new reworked kit is. Anyways, yes please nerf emps so that I have a chance against good survivors. Im the killer I shouldn't be bullied this hard with one button that requires little to no skill. And having played on both sides, I stomp other similarities because I just whip out the emp, it makes me wonder "damn thats all?" All those past people I killed just had to press a button? Its a high skill game on killers side vs no brain and only need to understand emp=win

The thing with EMPs is they're way more punishing to learning players than to experienced ones. Experienced players are going to be getting a lot of slipstreams forcing survivors to burn threw emps quickly while newer singularities aren't going to be putting out as much pressure, giving survivors time to stock up on them

Singularity requires a lot of mechanical skill, patience, and processing Literally everything about him is what a machine is best at Humans are not machines, as far as I know. Singularity is fun and satisfying when what you do works, like all killers. Everything you brought up is very agreeable and truth, hopefully we get to see some of those fixes, even one of them being implemented correctly *could* make a very powerful change for Singu players. A very cool mechanic that can help a few things that I've had an idea of is to help the macro play. "Camera Sweeping" the cameras slowly monitor their area with a laser visible to the singularity. If that laser crosses a survivor it will lock on them and begin readying a slip stream at 40% the normal speed. A cameras laser shuts off whilst Singularity is looking through that camera and takes a bit to come back after leaving that camera You can also change add ons for singularity to play a bit more into this passive power with faster passive charge to get survivors slip streamed, faster laser sweeps, or maybe one that nearly insta shoots a slip stream but the camera sweep moves 90% slower. And it won't negate his chase add ons, cause sure. You could go all cameras, but then your stuck with base slip stream

The biggest problem for me was how it feels like you're trying to take off in a semi-truck. Every time you exit a camera and want to chase someone you take forever to get moving again and by the time you do the survivor already is way ahead of you and reached another strong loop.

I actually enjoyed this informative video. I NEVER See this killer in game, or at least not enough. I've still been getting pop-up info about it. Thus, I wondered why, because he felt very punishing when I did play him. Now I understand why.

Everything about his kit is map awareness and teleportation to slow down and oppress sections of the map pretty speedy at the cost of no guaranteed hits or downs. The issue is EMPs shut off this core of his kit immediately and stop him from being able to play unless you sweat and hard tunnel some people just to get the ball rolling in your favor. I can't tell you how much it sucks to painstakingly set up cams, start my patrol, only to flip to a cam and realize a whole 25% or more of the map is now inaccessible with survivors T-bagging in front of my cams and healing or doing gens forcing me to lumber slowly over, chase them away, MAYBE get a hit in, reset my cam and- Oh look, the other side of the map i had to abandon to try and get some kinda control over here is now inaccessible with survivors T-bagging cams, doing gens and healing whatever hit i got... Seriously it sucks. It sucks having a killer you just don't get to have fun playing because they get hard countered so easily. I got some ideas to fix this: EMPs print much slower without input and only a limit of 2 of the item can exist at a time. This forces some survivors to try and speed up EMP printing and makes it so slipstream and cams can't be spammed away. This makes it so that EMP reset has to be made tactically or survivors get shafted for an extended period waiting on them or wasting gen time getting more made. This ensures there is actually some push and pull between the killer and survivors.

One change I would make is that have it so that you can only EMP yourself and biopods and not other survivors. The biggest counter to him is when a SWF is helping each other by tag teaming in EMPs of the person I’m chasing.

If this happens, then it would be a hard mess for survivors, since anytime you want to coop with someone in a generator, or to heal, they will get slipstreamed.

Tbh, EMPs mid chase are hardly an issue outside of indoor maps, you can throw the cam on a tree, scan, and teleport in like 3 seconds

I agree with this. Also, if MintSkull is right about how this would somehow be an issue when interacting with other survivors, then give the EMP two AOE. One would be the large AOE that can disable biopods, while the other AOE would be much smaller and can remove other survivors slipstream. This means if a survivor wants to help out a slipstreamed survivor in chase by getting rid of said slipstream, they will need to risk taking a hit.

I think EMP frustration could be helped by capping how many slipstreams are broken in one use. Limit it to one or two, so they have to burn more resources if they want the whole team to remove the debuff. But every other suggestion you made would definitely make him feel better

As a 43 prestige Singularity --- he's way to easy to counter vs SWFS. One person whose not in chase just run in and emp the person you are chasing. It feels SOOOOOO BAD. The best build for him IMO is slugging as they dont lose their bug on them if they are slugged. I use Knockout, DeerStalker, BloodWarden, Forced Hesitation. Add ons Family Photo and Denied Requisition.

Idea to balance larry: make some way for the emps to debuff survivors/buff larry. Basically, make the emps more like plague's fountains instead of like xeno's turrets

I also think some good touch ups for singularity would be to keep survivors silpstreamed after being hooked, and or make it so that EMPS can only remove slipstream from the survivor using it, which would also make them immune to passive slipstream infection for a time, although they could still be slipstreamed if HUX shoots them with a bipod. Overclocks duration is increased for each slipstreamed survivor, and I think it should be a larger focus of his kit because maintaining infection is HARD and singularity should be rewarded for spread pressure, not punished.

Three things I don't like about Singularity. 1. He looks like chewed bubblegum scraped off the bottom of someone's boot. He used to look similar to Ultron before Gabriel Soma blew him up. 2. He is on the list of Killers who bring their own countermeasures to the trial. Others on the list include Alien, Wesker, and Nemesis. Compare any of them to Plague, who brings her own countermeasure, but it's also massively beneficial because it enhances her power. 3. Why doesn't he put shards of bone, metal or glass into his gumball cannon and just do direct damage with it. This would save you so much aggravation.

The first time I faced a Singularity, my whole team of randoms was the team that didn't know wtf the Sungularity was. I got killed first cos I thought the emp shut the killer down. I spectator the rest of the match just to watch everybody else get killed, 4 Moris in like 2 minutes was crazy. From that day onwards, I vowed to never be the noob in the game and that actually motivated me to learn about every single killers power and then figure out the best counters. One could say the Singularity was the motivation for me Leveling up. So, Ig I thank that one Singularity guy who taught me what would happen if I kept playing with zero game knowledge. Amen to all Singularity players, u r the real skill checks of Dead by Daylight. Btw, including that game, I've had 3 games against the Singularity. The second time, I did lose against it but the 3rd time was probably against a new guy cos we got 4 escapes with zero downs

It should have 1 EMP per box and be limited like Nemesis and Wesker, or make the use of EMP like a flashlight where you must strategically choose a single target, whether you want to remove the ball of meat from the wall or from you.

My idea for Hux's changes, add haste after a teleport, but don't have the downside of lessening overclock. INSTEAD make it so overclock has a fixed time, not extending per slipstreamed survivor. This way it also has counterplay from survivor, which they can count out when he is overclocked. Along with the killer being able to know if they can make that lunge while overclocked still. I would also make the emps EITHER disable biopods OR remove slipstream. This way if they use it mid chase they won't disable the ones you placed down. Lastly, I would remove or at the very least tweak the anti camp things, as they are quite bad especially since we have the anti face camp meter in the game. Plus his power isn't inheritly deadly, he still has to m1 for an injure, compared to someone like huntress who has zero penalties at all.

I think a neat way of buffing singularity without outright adding haste into basekit would be reducing the time singularity spends "waking up" which makes survivor gain a bit of distance after hux teleports to them. I think it's about 1.7 seconds and reducing it to like 1.2 seconds would be a great way to make singularity's ability feel better. Overall, the reason nobody plays this killer is because this is a killer that requires you to think a lot and makes you constantly do something because of the way his power is designed. People just get overwhelmed and there's not much that can be done about that. He's a niche killer who could use some qol changes to make his basekit more solid, but he wouldnt become popular if he got those qol changes.

Singularity is one of my favorite killers, the feeling you get that you're a machine, learning constantly of the enviorment, when you get your shots right, your pods work, you feel like an actual machine-god. But yes, he's hard to play, really really fun but hard.

There needs to be a cool down on EMP spawns. Survivors should not be allowed to get an EMP and instantly print more. EMPs at the moment don't work as a counter, they completely negate the killer's power so there can be moments where you literally have no power. That shouldn't ever happen when playing as killer (unless you're playing Tombstone Myers) . And also, there should be a mechanic where you can mark biopods for later use.

I can so much relate to this. I'm putting in hundreds of hours already just on Singularity and it's really tedious and mostly frustrating, even on games with 4K's.

I actually thought of an addition to his power that might help him on indoor maps! Maybe while in a biopod you can choose to shoot a temorary biopod to another wall that acts the same as a regular one, but can't shoot temporary biopods, and it goes away as soon as you exit it. That way you could get better angles during chase and it can help you on indoor maps or in the middle of strong tiles with LOS blockers

As somebody who really enjoys singularity I think you said it best. I don’t have an issue with singularity being hard, I love how unique he feels and successfully setting up and using your bio pods to max efficiency is the most rewarding feeling I’ve gotten out of Dead by Daylight by a large margin. I love the singularity, with all his quirks, perks, and even his flaws. I’ve never felt so in love with playing killer like when I play him.

I feel you. I don't mind a hard character. It's just sometimes the game fights you on things and it's rough. It's thanks to him that I actually Picked up DBD seriously. I worked hard for hours to get him for free and never looked back. I now own every killer but Singularity is the Main NUMBER 1!

Honestly I pretty much agree with everything you've just said. The Single Larry (referred as just Larry from now on) has an insanely good design, his mecanics were fresh and fun when he released, and then people learned how to play against him. When he released, I asked myself if I was gonna stop maining only Huntress to take him in instead. But then, I played against teams who only held W and I decided against it. Being super addon reliant sucks, not being able to catch up to someone cause they run in a straight line after you TP'd to them sucks b, and having to run the same exact addon over and over again sucks major a. My idea for a "buff" for Larry is kind of what you said, coupled with some kind of a Chucky nerf. Make him 2 or 3% faster on teleport, with a 10 to 15% reduction of his overclock, allowing him to catch up much faster and more consistently. But, to balance that (because let's face it, it needs to), remove the ability to hit through pallets that are broken with overclock. Yes, it will kind of "take away" from Larry, but it'll be nice balance. Pallets still break on you like it does now, you get slowed, but you can't hit immediately after anymore (which, honestly has always kinda been bs in my opinion). Have a better way of choosing cameras (because holy shit always taking the wrong one is infuriating, especially if you don't notice it right away), make it possible to destroy a biopod from afar to replace it instead of having to rotate through cameras like Hag Traps, and we'll have a way better, way more fun killer that people would enjoy playing as and against !

singularity comes from what i like to call "a generation of killers that their power is in the survivors hand". Xenomorph, Sadako, Pinhead, old Twins, the dredge and the unknown are others examples of it. They can basically sabotage your entire game by doing the "side objective" completely denying you of your power. - Alien with the turrets or picking up survivors taking you off your power. -Sadako with survivors being able to turn off televisions and being save from condemn by keeping the tapes and denying you your teleports. -Pinhead by just finding the box and taking it to a save loop or god pallet to make you waste more time there. -Old twins by keeping victor hostage -the dredge by locking up the lockers, and denying you of going out of the locker straight away, notifying survivors at the same time making them gain distance to a save loop or pallet (not counting the horrible locker rng) -the unknown by basically looking at the killer All of them are just gimmicky killers to just say "we did something new" and be done with it. Nothing really that feels powerful on this supposed "power role" when the survivors have more power over the killer power. Lets not talk about trapper... Thing is, we can sit here and talk about how this killer requires so much effort and skill to get into, but no amount of practice can get you used to the clunk that the singularity brings to this game. Its not on the players that the system is badly designed, certainly not a skill issue. If there is any good singularities out there getting a good killrate, it is because most people barely play against him since he is so rare. Hell, killrates doesnt mean anything in this game and i wish people would stop bringing that up. This is the same community of survivors that still fall to this day to my basement bubba. Its hilarious

One thing I'd change is the EMP. Instead of being able to spam spawn them, the box should require uninterrupted manufacturing time. An EMP shouldn't spawn if the last one it made hasn't been used, preventing players from just grabbing a new one immediately. If all four survivors have an EMP ready, that will mean none of four boxes can make another. I'd also reduce the range of the EMP blast, maybe to 12 meters or even smaller.

What should happen is if a generator is being worked on by a slipstream affected survivor or if a survivor is slipstreamed long enough the cameras will reveal the aura of that survivor to you. Their cameras meaning they should work even without you using them directly.

As a singularity player (I dont play him enough to consider him a main but i do like to play him), i feel that EMP's only need 1 small change that being that for the first 30 seconds of the 100 second timer that EMP's get printed, printing can not be accelerated. currently if a survivor accelerates the printing of an EMP it can be spat out in around 25 seconds this can be problematic due to biopods taking 45 seconds to recharge after being hit from an EMP after using that EMP the survivor can then prepare a second EMP before the biopods back up allowing the survivor to continuously force down time on the biopod unless the singularity comes over to replace it. the 25 second print time also allows survivors to play very aggressively a well coordinated team can make his power redundant at very little cost. another minor tweak i would add would just to not allow it to go through floors but i can understand that logically this wouldn't make sense. if anyone sees this let me know what you think open to feedback and i hope it all made sense! :D

I think without a doubt, currently, you just have to grind many hours of him to actually be affective enough to consistantly win games. Its not really like other killers where you can pick up their power and still be affective even if its your first time. Coming from a 8 month dedicated Hux main, i think he is desgined really good, but things like EMP's jsut tear down the gameplay so much. People just dont want to work as hard to get something out of it.

Yeahhh that makes sense, i'm guilty of choosing the easier killers. To be fair tho I don't have a lot of free time to consistently play dbd, which is a shame since i'd like to get a grasp on singularity's playstyle; but it would take so damn long to eventually get used to him with how little I play... and i'm not too keen on purposely getting frustrated with myself anytime I want to play dbd just to figure out how to play him, no matter how gratifying it might be in the long run. I'd rather enjoy the few matches I do play just fucking around as legion or trapper, killers that're easier to play. you get me? I'm typing this late at night (or very early in the morning?) so this is just word vomit I amalgamated together lol, my fault if it's a bit hard to read

Singularity main here. When he first came out i wasnt playing the game much, but i did buy him, tested him against bots and felt he was way too complicated. HOWEVER i later went back and committed some time to him, leading me to a point i enjoyed his gameplay. He takes a lot of skill and gamesense and definitely relies on some perks sometimes, but when putting some effort into him he's a very fun killer with crazy map control and chase opportunity

I wouldn’t say he’s currently my main, I’ve played a couple other killers more than him and he’s not the killer I’m best at playing. But that is slowly changing. He’s a bit difficult but he’s shot up to being my favorite killer in the cast and I’ve been playing him increasingly more over time. I think he has incredible potential to be high b tier or even a tier once people learn the right tech and begin to play him at peak efficiency. It can be a bit frustrating how readily available EMPs are to the survivors and how hard it is to keep people slipstreamed, but that’s part of the learning curve. He’s not supposed to be like plague where she has a constantly building status effect that’s meant to linger and be hard to avoid, you’re supposed to have to actively work to keep slipstreams up. I think once people learn to orient themselves quickly switching between cameras and accept that their preconceived ideas about him and how they think he’s supposed to play may need to be reconsidered, he’ll surge in popularity and power. Frankly, I can’t wait until that day comes.

I actually bought Singularity as soon as it was released. EMP were faster, add-ons were worse, the meta was problematic... I think a lot of people don't play anymore because of the trauma. Today he looks better, despite the problems mentioned. It deserved some base kit add-ons.

Maybe the only change to EMPS that would help greatly without being absurd is, that new EMPS arent generated in their respective printer until survivor uses the one that he/she picked up already. It is absurd that all the effort gets thrown to the garbage can with EMP and an option to pick a brand new one mere SECONDS later at same box.

Really good video, thanks for discussing this subject. I think it's important to say that he doesn't need a rework, but rather quality of life changes. He's not for everyone, but a killer for everyone is a killer for no one. As a Singularity main, I believe a good change for him would be to allow him to destroy EMPs if he hits a survivor who has one in hand (similar to Xeno when a survivor has a turret in their hands).

Singularity is actually in my top 10 favorite killers to play as. Once i finish getting all my killers to P1, I'm likely gonna focus my top 10 for levels, so im gonna be playing him quite often.

I'm a Singularity main, but I've stopped playing him since a bug that makes EMPs not trigger a sound effect when used on cameras appeared. I'll pick him back up once it's fixed, because not having that essential sound can cost you games.

Even if you don't want to nerf EMPs too hard, just make it so there can only be a certain amount on the map at once, like Xenomorph's turrets. It's wild that all four survivors can hold EMPs, and every printer will also eventually have one ready. While the best Singularity players can just shred through EMPs with on-the-fly biopod infections mid-chase, it definitely feels horrible when you are new to him.

The easy answer is make biopods automatic and increase the time it shoots by 25% so the killer can do stuff killer could still control but when the automatic pod shoots a survivor becomes aura becomes white to let the killer know they are pinged

Honestly i feel like the problem is people try to much with singularity. I've played him yesterday and the day before getting him to level 40 in that time from just games as him alone. I can safely say that people try to juggle to many gens and overwhelm themselves just main 3 or 4 gens close to eachother doing so makes it physically impossible to win against him. And even if you are in capable of protecting the gens place your biopods around the gates from different angles at different distances making it impossible to escape. Also if you maining gens dragons breath is a must just having gen affecting perks makes it so much easier to use him and honestly i had a blast playing with him. Also one more thing singularity isnt meant to be a chase killer i think thats another interesting thing about him and makes me love his game play even more differently one of my new mains

I think it’d be nice to change an emp’ed biopod to red outside the cameras, like how the most recent camera used is yellow. This would be a nice QOL and a buff as survivors would give a bit more info when using emps

Ok so as a singularity main I’ll like speak on my personal gripes with why people think singularity is too complicated. Please keep in mind that this is my personal opinion and that does not mean that I think this video is bad. For one let’s start with the argument that singularity is pointless because you can get more value from nurse and blight. Now I don’t really know why people say that singularity is too complex because of this but.. well.. they’re nurse and blight. You know THE STRONGEST KILLERS IN THE GAME! Like by that logic theirs no point in play Myers cus ghostface stalks faster or that you shouldn’t play wraith because spirit is better in every way. Because while yes that is true that doesn’t mean that myers or wraith can’t get insane value if played right. Even if they are some tiers below them. And what makes it worse is that they compare singularity with fucking nurse!! Like did we forget how busted nurse is! Point being that you can get very good teams sweating very hard with any killer even if they are lower on the teir list. My next gripe is that the EMPs are too strong to face. Now I see where people are coming from. After all singularity is a hard killer to pick up on. And I really hate to be that guy.. but is really just a skill issue. Playing singularity is not all about chase or all about information. He’s a mixture of both and that’s why I like him so much. And if the EMPs were only able to fix one of those than singularity would be undoubtedly S teir. To help you understand what I mean think of the twins rework. Twins were a soild killer but victor had some downsides that made him possible to get the drop on such as you being able to kick him after downing someone or keeping him hostage. But then came along the rework. And they removed it. As so twins had become absolutely and unbelievably overpowered. This was because the thing keeping them alright was gone. And that’s the point of EMPs. If they were to be removed than the twins rework problem would spread to singularity. And so as a singularity you have to play around the EMPs to get full value from him. And so what I’m trying to say is that the EMPs are not overpowered, they are a tool for survivors to protect themselves with. Similar to the things survivors have to protect themselves against twins, but in object form. And besides in my experience EMPs are perfectly balanced to help survivors get an upper hand against singularity. They counter both the slipstream and bio pods just enough to be useful and rewarding if used right, but not stop you from getting no value from you power. But that’s what I think and I would love to see what you guys think about the singularity in the comments. Just stay civil please :) (Oh and nice video btw)

1. People bring up the point about Nurse and Blight vs Singularity, not on the basis of strength, but because of EFFORT. Why play Singularity and sweat insanely hard to win, while you could get better results with Nurse, Blight, Mastermind, Artist etc, all while sweating less? Meanwhile, Myers and Ghostface may sure be weaker, but they balance it out with being easy to play. Singularity is the worst of both worlds. 2. Most people agree that the EMPs are a pretty balanced counter against Singularity. The problem is that it feels TERRIBLE when Survivors are competent and disable your power. They understand the EMPs are balanced, they just don't like them as a game mechanic.

At least I am in the 1% for something. I actually like the complex design of Singularity. I don't do setup as Singularity due to the EMPs, but rather use the Biopods in chase. You can easily hit survivors with the Slipstream in mid chase, and then catch up really quickly with the teleport as they can either slowdown to try to EMP it off, attract another survivor away from the objective, or most times, they keep it on, giving you easy access to fast vault and destroy pallets. The only thing I 100% agree with is the punishing anti-camp slowdown.

Hubby and I agree with your changes, honestly. He loves Singularity, but hates the issues with him. If we don't do your changes, we feel EMPs need a change then. Like make it so it's either used on you or an ally. Just one. Not a big AoE. Make it so he can kick the boxes to damage them and Survivors must repair them. Not as slow as gens, but maybe like totem speed? It'd have to be tested to make it right, but you get the idea. Just some things that came to mind just for EMPs.

I think that it needs some buffs; like improving the biopods collision, making his basekit a little bit stronger, because it is too addon dependant, and making his “counter” less strong giving him a little more map pressure. Also I have an idea to make him better, if the other stuff is partially implemented, like making his cameras work automatically, of course with a much longer time to activate and shoot its goo, giving the killer more time to breath💬

I think one change would be faster biopod slipstream attachment from cameras. Make it easier and faster to apply slipstream infection, but keep the timer longer for teleport like it is now. That and remotely recalling pods you don’t want seem like good QOL changes.

With Singularity I like to use the Iri add-on with the add on that reveals auras when they get slip streamed, with floods of rage and lethal pursuer. I get frequent information on the survivors locations which allow me to pressure them a bit better. And using jolt I don’t have to spend time breaking gens as much anymore

Hey! I main him. Anyway... I think the biopod slipstream/teleport should use the logic it already uses to highlight survivors. And the teleport animation should be shorter, I don't think giving him haste into his basekit is a good idea and simply making the animation shorter would give the same results. Some slight EMP nerf would also be nice. Anyway good video!

Here's how I would rework The Singularity: - Remove EMP devises - Remove Singularity specific anti-camp mechanics - remove slow down when teleporting + Add Overclock movement speed buff by 10% for duration of Overclock + Add surgery table(1) Surgery table description: This surgery table has been beaten and bloodied from the many emergency's it has preformed yet continues its function through unknown means. Surgery table uses/etc. : While a survivor is 'Slipstreamed' they are allowed to use the Surgery table and remove the 'Slipstreamed' effect The surgery takes 20 seconds to remove Only one survivor can use the surgery table at a time The surgery table will go into lockdown when the Singularity's terror radius is near If the surgery table is currently in use it will not shut down until the surgery is complete When the surgery is complete the survivor is forced off The Singularity cannot attack a survivor who is in surgery

The only thing I wish to be changed about Singularity is how disorienting switching to a camera is. The cameras stay pointed to the last place you looked while controlling it, so sometimes in chase I switch to a camera right besides the survivor and it is pointing down and to the side, so I take 1 second locating myself and pointing to the right direction, enough time for the survivor to find cover. When you use a Pinhead chain, the chain always spawns looking forward, and once you shoot it Pinhead will be looking to where the chain hits, if Singularitys cameras always pointed towards Hux, or away from Hux, or to the nearest survivor, I would play them way more, he's already great at surveilance and catching up, but 1 match of Singu is as tiring as 5 of other killers

I wouldn’t call singularity “complicated” more difficult then hard to understand. It’s generally very easy to understand his power. You have cameras. If you track the survivor in the middle of the screen with the cameras then the camera squirts a little ball at them and now you can teleport to them by holding out your power at their back in which then you get base kit spirit furry and brutal strength on crack. The hard part isn’t understanding him. It’s actually using him. You have to constantly be thinking about where the survivors gonna go when they’re not even in your view so you can switch to the proper camera. And on some maps he can be really easy like on nostromo where there’s not 1 but 3 massive view points you can put cameras on and all 3 almost view the entire map together. And then of course there’s maps like Larry’s. Either way singularity is one of the least forgiving killers.

As a Singularity main, I can say that this is accurate. And very sad thing happened a week ago. Singularity literally got nerfed. So, in one of recent patches, they removed camera disable sound. Previously you could hear a sound of a camera breaking with emp and understand that 1 of all cameras got broken and can instantly check and find which one. Now, when random camera gets broken, Singularity doesn’t hear the sound and it can be annoying cuz I often don’t even know that my camera was broken, and when I finally find it out, the gen on which this cam was on, is already 90% done. But I still love playing him the most. And I think, it will take some time to get used to this recent change

I think one of the biggest points you mention really is that it's just very exhausting to play as The Singularity. I think he's fun to play, bur also very demanding and I cannot for the life of me play more than maybe 2 games of it in a row. Not to mention that some days I just wanna chill and don't even consider to play it because of that.

Some buffs to make him more viable and less "counterable" -survivors can carry a EMP with other items right, remove this. -the boxes will not print the EMP automatically anymore. -Program him to warm the crew

Yep. You don't have to fix anything, people don't play because they are too lazy to learn how to use it. I have seen main Singularities that play as if it were very easy doing 4k against good swf. I'm tired of seeing people on Twitter complaining, saying that it's difficult to use a killer when they don't want to learn how to master it. In the future they will ask for an automatic button to win the game... 🙄

As a singularity main, here's what I would do to make his barrier for entry smaller, while not taking away his learning curve. -if a survivor is within range and is within line of site of a camera, the camera will automatically be facing toward the closest survivor when you enter a camera.(this will lead to more slipstreams and take out much frustration) -allow the singularity to see the auras of the EMP boxes like the survivors at no range limit.(this would help immensely in being able to keep track and deal with EMPs that are in play) -And lastly, remove the movement speed penalty when near a hooked survivor and you use a camera(idek why this is a thing, it would make him so much smoother to play if they just did away with it)

I've mained Singularity since his release and always found him fun despite some of his mechanical frustrations. Admittedly I get a little nervous when I see people talk about him because it tends to be the same kind of takes that miss the point, usually coming from people that haven't taken the time to learn or given him a chance and in general seek to change him in a way that removes the challenging aspects of his kit in favour of a pallet bot M1 simulator. Having said all that, I was pleasantly surprised when I got to the end of this video and heard some well rounded change ideas that I honestly feel myself agreeing with (for the most part anyway). Really great video! Oh and speaking of hot takes, would it surprise you to know that I've never used Soma Family Photo throughout my entire time maining this killer and do just fine in my matches.

There's too many aspects of his basekit that feel too punishing so here's what I propose: Soma Family Photo's effect needs to be basekit. 5% haste after teleporting. No 20% reduction for the overclock duration BUT overclock could be reduced by 1 second in general. Proposed idea for a new effect for Soma Family Photo would be: Decreases the size of biopods by 30% and reduces the sounds they make by 50%. EMPs should have two modes: one for removing biopods and one for removing slipstreams. This can make them feel less unfair and also add an element of strategy for survivors. EMPs should NOT work across floors. It's okay for them to ignore walls/obstacles but not floors. EMPs should take 1 second longer to charge. I believe it is 2.5 seconds now, buffing it to 3 or 3.5 would not be bad. Biopods recovery time should go down from 45 seconds to 35. Remove all of the anti-camping debuffs that Hux gets. They made sense at release but now anti-camping is properly implemented in the game and it just sucks that Hux gets EXTRA basekit slowdowns when near a hook but other killers don't. I don't like camping but this just feels unjust. Improve collision detection for biopod placement and LOS mechanics for slipstreaming. That's all really. Also please give him more skins.

He is fun to play and feels rewarding when you get good matches with him. Problem is, his power does him no favors for controlling gens against survivors because EMPs are way too easy to get, and his chase power is so convoluted that even when you feel like you're doing really well, you're still taking too long and gens are popping left and right.

I main hux. My way of playing is to use the brown slurry and the soma photo. First set up some pods, save a few for chases. Check cams semi frequently. Hope for the best and quickly replace if a pod gets stunned. Idk how to explain how i play, you really just have to like take some adderal before you play him (/s)

Yeah i would love some QoL but not direct buffs itself. - Better camera placement. Shoot at a wall and no camera is placed because "reasons". - Better targeting in camera mode, its feels trash that 1 leaf prevent you to shoot a survivor that you see 95% of the body, while GF and mayers can stalk 1 pixel of your feet. - While in camera mode, you can see your own aura in white to help navigate. And agree with what you say.
