I’m an atheist and I hate that quote. It’s just simply not true. Religion was invented as an explantion for the events in nature our ancestors saw and had no explanation for. Why do trees rustle? gods are inside of them shaking them. Why do storms happen? God is sitting on a cloud throwing lightning bolts. Religion was the very first explantion of how the word worked, which is why it’s the worst. There’s plenty of conmen in religion, but that doesn’t mean religion was started by conmen. First of all it doesn’t say women be subject to men. Secondly it doesn’t say men subject your wife unto yourself but rather appeals to the wife as a means of worship to God(NOT husband). This is the difference between contractual marriage and covenantal marriage. In a contractual marriage you could make whatever rules you want. For example the women could defend against invaders and the man could decorate the house. In Covenantal marriage a man must not only be willing to lay down his life for his wife but must do so daily. He is solely responsible to provide protection, food, shelter and clothing. This verse among the others provides far more protection to woman’s livelihood than men are willing to offer today otherwise. It’s not even close.

You seem to be suggesting that because it says that husbands should love their wives as their own body, present them as holy and so on, that it somehow evens things out. No, I don't believe it does. Taking the whole thing in context, it's basically saying that wives should treat their husbands as a god, and husbands should love their wives as they do their own bodies. Not the same thing at all. This is very similar to the type of arguments I've heard about biblical slavery. `Well, yeah, they had slaves, but they treated em really good!` In this case, `Yeah, wives should submit to their husbands and treat them as gods, but husbands are supposed to love them as they would themselves, so that makes it all okay.` I disagree. I don't know if there's more lonely atheists, than lonely theists. I don't think this has that much of an impact on becoming lonely. There are a lot of secular activities and groups and whatnot. I have not felt lonely for being an atheist. I feel lonely sometimes, bc I'm a widow and an introvert.

The reality you are appealing to is the paras1tical nature of atheists. Atheists have 0.9% birth rate among couples compared to a Christian 2.7% birth rate. Why would that be? Is it that they orientate their life and thoughts around themselves and are distinctly individualistic in nature? Is it that their worldview offers no fulfillment and therefore nothing they would want to impose on future children? It seems to me an admission that the atheist paradigm in its absolute sense is unliveable. To the extent that it is liveable, it borrows from the religious ideals for meaning. How can that which is unliveable or inoperable be true?

Even the Darwinian idea that humanity became religious to socialize, form communities and establish a moral framework built upon God to protect against tribalism shows for one that the entire premise of this channel is false and second that the end product of atheism is religion. Again it's an admission from the Darwinian moral framework that Theology is necessary for humanity to rise above the animals. I have a mechanical background that suggests that whatever offers utility is true to the degree that it accomplishes its purpose and is false to the degree that it does not. I'm not certain that humans can comprehend truth outside of utility as the entire discipline of Mathematics exists to utilize the language of numerals to predict outcomes. If the numbers are utilized to describe reality they are true, but if they fail to describe reality the are false. My argument is that ideas themselves cannot exist outside of utility. An idea is true to the degree that it accomplishes its purpose and is false to the degree that it does not.

Atheism has no answer to the fundamental questions of life. Where did we come from? Why are we here? Where are we going? These questions are preposterous from a naturalistic and nihilistic worldview. Why is the woman not entitled to the same reassurance that a product of the husband's genes isn't out there in another woman's house? Why is she the only one that is obligated to keep her pants on?
