Are you starting, ending, or continuing ESO in 2024?

My wife and I are both well over CP 1000, we come and go every few years. She actually plays for story - completing zones and following quest lines and getting that 'Skyrim questing' experience. I enjoy the social guild aspect (I just join a new one for a few mos when I come back) and I put my grandmaster crafter skills to work gearing up new players or taking my highest skill character (my healer) to help folks learn vet dungeons or trials. The main issue is the core design - the HA and LA weaving driving so much DPS never should have stayed in the game. It was a bug originally and then they kept it in and it makes DPS so un-fun. Healing has always been my favorite but now it's so unnecessary with self-sustain through the roof (applies to resources too and not just health) that most trials groups bring one healer, or none at all, instead of two. Tanking is active and a blast in group content but absolutely turns solo questing into a slog, and since re-specs are so expensive at high levels you're penalized if you want to take a week and knock out a new zone. There aren't easy answers to solve these problems, but it's the main reason I'm never around permanently.

If you want to challenge yourself, you could always solo dungeons. I started soloing at around CP200 and the one in this video, BC1 was the first one I solo'd. Got hooked immediately. Now I am doing DLC dungeons. And with the new Arcanist class, I just figured out a new challenge: naked tanking. Not even weapons in hand. Arcanist has so many buffs and debuffs in class skills that you are still useful to a 4 player group even without any equipment but man, naked tanking is tough. 5 key pledges are easy peasy, base games can be done no death speedrun hard mode without breaking a sweat, but I have to say it took me several attempts to figure out how to survive vERE last boss bear stage cone breath. But even that is doable. Not sure if vERE HM is possible naked. But at least normal vet is. (I got the idea when we did a naked trial in nAS with my guild - only level 1 non-set weapons in hand but no other gear. I decided to go all naked, including weapons.)

I have the same issue. Its amazing to explore but gets rather dull after a few days. Maybe a core combat update or something could change it up.
