Why Powerlifting Makes You INJURY-PRONE

Powerlifting doesn't apply to life, and makes you injury prone.
Our bodies are designed for locomotion first, and lifting second. This means that an exercise should respect our biological priority to stand, walk, run and throw. When you build strength through "non-linear" motions like we do at FP, lifting becomes a by-product of performing everyday movements with your body.
We have thousands of practitioners around the world helping people to quantifiably increase their strength, sprint capacity, and resilience to injury.
Which goes to show that building a strong muscular body, doesn't have to include the spinal compression that comes with traditional lifts.
The illusion that you need hundreds or thousands of pounds of weight to get benefit from an exercise, is a symptom of Powerlifting being flawed as a system. Even the most elite lifters, suffer the consequences of the big three barbell lifts (Deadlifts, back squats and bench press).
Don't lift heavy for social validation, learn to move impeccably through Nature’s education.

FP is so far ahead in terms of the understanding and execution of how to improve the bodies ability to move through space. Do yourself a favor and look at the results FP is putting out with just the average folk.

Where’s the science and the evidence to support your statement that powerlifters are more injury prone? Systematic reviews? Meta analyses? Thx.

It's all over the place. Pain and injury with powerlifters is extremely common. It's as obvious as the sky is blue.

@@functionalpatterns What if someone were to argue that pain and injury with FP enthusiasts are more common, and that it is also obvious as the sky is blue. How would you respond? I would respond the same way: ask for evidence to support that statement. To be clear, I am not necessarily gung-ho about powerlifting, but I am absolutely against the assertion of statements/opinions as absolutes when there is zero factual evidence to support said assertion. Unless, of course, as asked from the beginning: could you link me to such evidence? Would love to read! Thanks!

@@SenesLULZ the evidence is our company growing year on year. You do realize how we make our money right? Do you know why our company grows year on year and continues to expand globally? I bet you’ll never guess.

@@functionalpatternsThis argument makes no sense. There has to be some more backing to your claim then just "our company is getting bigger each year". Nestle has grown by roughly 7% this, yet everyone knows they are one of the most damaging and evil companies to ever exist. Would you like to tell me the fact they are growing means they are doing good? You'll see your logic makes no sense. Bring imperical evidence that actually corroborates that your way of training is the best, or else you're just making up hearsay

powerlifting is a sport. you will never be a powerlifter without big compound movements with barbell. Can FP train athlete to be powerlifter without doing bench, deadlift squat?

Powerlifting doesn't apply to life but prancing around with a kettlebell and doing weird cable club twists replicate daily life perfectly
@edfreeman2722

I don't think you are looking at this deep enough. The movement organization, multiple force vectors, the coordination skills, contralateral movement, ipsilateral movement, control of inertia force and momentum based control all help better yourself with life. But also I don't think vertical force training is bad we just need to organize ourselves properly, vertical ground force is important too.

The biggest question to pose after this video. How does a heavy squat, or deadlift give one advantages in everyday movement? I’d rather be able to knock you out than squat 500lbs.

Before powerlifters start complaining, they should look at FP’s results and check if powerlifting has anything similar to offer. Spoiler: they don’t have anything similar to offer.

Lifting things is fine as it involves parabolic motion. specifically lifting barbells as done in a deadlift or squat is very limited.

@@aquavitae3824 have you tried fp? I’ve had to lift things in suboptimal positions for many jobs. I’d say the stimulus from fp would help protect/counteract the negative stress from such jobs.

Does FP have scientific research?? Not expect opinion, but actual scientific research? Level A research? Is FP different from the rotary movements found in strength and conditioning based training? You’re company is based on rhetoric and an uninformed audience.
@FPPolice

The plan doesn’t involve going down the conventional scientific route. Just like tesla doesn’t have to conduct scientific studies to build a car, we don’t have to conduct studies to fix bodies and completely outperform the “science based” methods out there that operate at a snails pace. You are welcome to stay skeptical, until you aren’t and probably have to join or find a new profession

@@FPPolice first off, I love that you compared yourself to Tesla - humility is obviously a strong virtue of yours. Hmmm, going down a scientific route in an unconventionally scientific way? Sounds like malarkey! The funny thing is I actually don’t mind your movement concepts. However, I do think your business tactics - criticizing other modalities other than your own in a horribly toxic way - is despicable

@@michaelanderson2686 I am not part of a study, but I had severe back pain in 2007 with all sorts of medical professionals perplexed at what was wrong with me and some even recommending a spine fusion in my lumbar. I am now in mid 40s and I am able to handle physical labor without any pain. Those scientific studies you reference (there are exceptions perhaps) , mean *#it to me based on my experience with them.

Yeah powerlifting is garbage but classic bodybuilding training is the only way to grow muscle because with your exercises you can never go to muscle failure becuase you will be limited by lack of stability and you will just overall exhaust before the muscle gets substantial stimulus
