If you are struggling to quit smoking or quit vaping this AddictionMindset video is for you! In this Addiction Mindset video Dr. Frank discusses why quitting nicotine feels impossible for some people despite Allen Carrs Easy Way To Quit Smoking or Quit Vaping books. Nicotine addiction and quitting smoking is not impossible because of the nicotine withdrawals or because you are not using nicotine replacement therapy, but rather because of the actual benefits nicotine provides. Wether you are looking to quit vaping, quit smoking cigarettes, quit chewing tobacco or want to ditch the ZYN nicotine pouches once and for all AddictionMindset recovery coaching has your back. There were two things that motivated me to quit….its called aggressive adenocarcinoma and having the right upper lobe of my lung removed. My surgery was done on January 24th and my PET scan identified no additional instances. Although this life altering event made quitting a heck of a lot easier I still have to deal with the forever effects of smoking. This channel helps with the insidious thoughts that still make me think I am missing something. I truly pray for everyone trying to quit. Please use every tool and resource Dr. Frank offers and I wish you all success.

Dr frank I love your videos! One thing I will say is, on the topic of nicotine harm reduction, patches are the best way to go. Far from perfect, but as somebody who’s struggled with every form of nicotine you can think of, the patches are the safest. Hands down. I’m going to try to quit the patches tomorrow after some stressful exams, fingers crossed 🤞 keep up the great videos! 🙌 💯

About 15 yrs ago I read Allen Carrs book and I did just stop. I started back after a years long custody dispute then switched to vaping for harm reduction. I tried to quit that cold turkey after 2 weeks I felt like I wanted to die. Now I am struggling. Largely, I think because I have PTSD and the stress of quitting just puts me over the edge. I know the long term benefits will be awesome but I cant push past the short term misery.

@harrylfc12 had to read through this to remind myself what this was about... I gave all of my vape gear away. 10 years worth of stuff so haven't went back to the big mods, making my own juice etc. I quit all together for 2 weeks. First few days felt crappy but then the worst thing was not having it beside me , out of habit I'd reach for it at night, after eating etc. I ended up having a mint instead.... Always still felt like a vape but was bearable. I then was at a party after the 2 weeks and had 1 disposable. Then nothing for another 2 weeks. This pattern has continued so not ideal. I cannot say I have fully quit because every couple of weeks I have a disposable and to be brutally honest absolutely love it and look forward to it. Just scared of it being a slippery slope but time will tell.

Honestly the book worked for me to stop smoking cigarettes... Allen Carr is dead since 2006 and i read the old version. I bought the new one recently for a friend and i was astonished by a lot of things. Obviously it's not from Allen Carr. So i don't know what to think about this book. Now, i'am going to watch the video but i wanted to give my experience with the Allen Carr's method who i feel i owe some recognition.

I just hit 50 days vape free. I am using the nicotine patch purely because I started smoking at 9 years old I'm 32 now so growing up nicotine was always in me and I was a super chronic chain smoker/vaper. This is still the hardest thing I've ever had to do and I'm still not sure if I'm out of the woods yet because I still fantasize and glorify vaping I convince myself I miss it but I'm trying to stay the course. I start the final step of the patches in 4 days from now so hope that helps

I’ve tried to quit vaping many times within the last 7 years. What made it effortless for me was having my vape die while on a trip out of the country. I was jet lagged for about a week upon my return and was way too tired/lazy to drive out to get a new one. I think the disruption in my daily routine (i.e. not using vape while driving to work, paired with morning caffeine, etc) made it effortless for my body to just forget about it entirely. Running on 4 months now and it’s amazing because I didn’t even try to quit, just still too lazy to get a new one.

I tried quitting before, but I am SOON. No more excuses. I want the extra money and the health. Even if there are benefits of nicotine, you can also get those benefits from eating healthy meats and healthy veggies. Without any side affects like deathotine. Honestly? I wish I could smoke my American Spirit tobacco occasionally. But I can't. So, coming soon, I am done! I have NO choice. Doing it for my family, my new upcoming car, and my new puppy I am getting this April.

It's important to recognize that individuals' tendencies towards drug use and smoking cigarettes can be heavily influenced by their environment and personal circumstances. Factors such as lack of self-confidence and the inability to find healthier methods of obtaining dopamine rewards, like savoring a cup of coffee while engaging in productive activities such as studying, learning, and rehearsing, can increase impulsivity towards substance use. Procrastination, social isolation, and a lack of understanding that skills are developed through dedication and practice, rather than being innate, can also contribute to this behavior. It is essential to remember that the brain and body are tools provided by nature that should be treated with care. Misuse or excessive consumption of substances like marijuana, alcohol, and cigarettes can have long-term effects on an individual, potentially leading to cognitive regression and impaired memory retention, which may not be fully reversible. Therefore, it is advisable to gradually reduce consumption rather than abruptly stopping "cold turkey", or forcing one self , in which can instead be done slowly by incorporating at the same time healthy habits and never using cigarettes or weed as a reward after you do a hard session of work but rather incorporate them so you smoke less and less, and i would never tell a person in untactful way to stop using all drugs altogether, and use a 20 pound penalty bar hammer on his head. The ease or difficulty of overcoming substance dependence varies from person to person, depending on their unique circumstances. Understanding the multifaceted nature of desire and the various factors that influence an individual's level of dependency is crucial in addressing these issues effectively, hope my comment helped the readers re-hearse in a variable way.

The "benefits" of nicotine all these influencers keep speaking of are laughable. There's only a few small reasons any "benefits" have been found. 1. Big Tabacco, DUH These guys just want to feel or look cool and justify it by saying there's benefits and then genuinely get addicted. Whether or not anyone wants to admit it most people get into nicotine to validate some illusion of, sex appeal, hard work, "stress" ect. It's all for appearances! It then becomes an addiction

I tried 6mg pouch yesterday for studying, and I will say that it helped me stay focused and sharp during a 5 hour study session. I will say that 6mg is too much for me, and it felt uncomfortable keeping it my mouth, so I had to spit it out in less than 3 minutes. I will be switching to 2mg doses maybe once or twice a week for long study sessions. I’m only using nicotine for the enhanced focus when studying. Once I pass the exam, then I quit.

Today marks 4 weeks since I quit smoking, cold turkey. Your channel appearing in my feed was the motivation I needed to finally do it. I can highly recommend watching some of Chris Skoyle's videos as well. It's basically motivation prn for quitting 😅 To be honest I'm very surprised by how little of a difference I feel. My blood flow to my hands and feet is markedly better, I'm not coughing all the time (which was the thing that really motivated me to quit), and I can smell when others have been smoking, but that's about it. On the other hand I also don't feel like I'm missing out on anything, so cravings have been minimal. The main thing for me is that I really want to chill for 5-10 minutes when I get home, but I haven't really found anything that works. Reading/watching/listening/gaming gets me distracted, and meditation or exercise doesn't really scratch the itch, however healthy it's supposed to be.

Hey man, happy to hear you’re four weeks in! Rule of 3’s! The next big “change” / biological reset is gonna be at 3 months! Something that helps me get 5-10 minutes, either when waking up or getting home, is making a drink. Green juice, Ill use a protein powder with probiotics, veggie powders, fruit powders. Buy a 15$ blender bottle and maybe you could try doing a smoothie break when ya get home. Drinking out of the bottle also kinda helps imitate the hand to mouth. Takes me a good 5-20 to make it and drink it.
