skepticism was the best tool I've ever learned since leaving religion and it's changed my life for the better. Unless you want to learn and expand your mind no amount of evidence will persuade a hard believer to open their eyes. The mind is a crazy thing and if you want something to be true then you will do whatever it takes to convince yourself its true and that's a terrible way to live.

I just listened to the first chapter of Carl Sagan’s “Cosmos” yesterday and I had a spiritual experience: I cried, I felt a profound sense of my finitude, and a deep sense of love and connection with all of the world around me.

When I was religious and struggling with the content of what I was reading. I was/am amazed how happy Christians are with the placebo they are taking. The delusion/placebo is so much better than the truth. They're happier with the story they been given than the reality that surrounds them. Every Sunday, they are popping the placebo into their minds until that one day they will get a surprise of their lives.

I honestly think religion is the biggest foe of spirituality. These days everything seems to be turned on its head. It's sad to see people falling into these patterns of madness while fighting over which religion/ideology and which one is the best, despite it all being nonsense.

One of my favourite pros for leaving religion is the freedom of thinking. Processing thoughts, fellings and ideas without the fear of God (or God filter) stopping you makes life on earth worth living. AND understanding the world around you is easier (at least that was the case for me).

Slowly,gradually cobwebs of the mind have begun to untangle thoughts which are confused, and jumbled .Thanks to these men who have built on reason.

We are made from the elements on this planet. This planet is made from the elements created by long-dead stars, which accreted to form the solar system. We are therefore as much a part of the universe as a star, planet or anything else. It then follows that we are the first (and possibly the only) instance of that cold, unfeeling universe becoming self-aware. I find this to be far more profound and spiritually uplifting than anything in a holy book.

i’m not gonna mince words. only the WEAK-MINDED need religion. what other paradigm provides the comfort of a watchful and vengeful patriarch, an infinite afterlife, the assurance of some kind of certainty, and most heinously a justification of your prejudices? i prefer having faith in the capacity of humankind to do great things. i prefer a finite life that is more valuable and must be valued. i much rather have all the questions that need to be asked, than supposed answers that can never be questioned. if you have a hard time accepting any of these, you do have a WEAK MIND.

Confused by "transcendent"? Yep, it sure gets thrown around a lot. But I'm still stuck on what "spiritual" even means. Once we're clear on that, then we can address these other blanket terms that everyone knows but no one can clearly define.

Science should be the red pill.

The truth is that very, very, few people actually believe, and here is why. Mark 16:17 ---"Here are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they will cast out devils; they will have the gift of tongues; they will pick up snakes in their hands; and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison; they will lay their hands on the sick who will recover." I know many people who say that they believe, but I do not know a single one who does any of the afore mentioned deeds. I say that I believe, but I cannot do those things. What is really going on here is that those who purport to believe want others to do the actual "believing" for them. Persuading others to believe is an impossible task if one does not, himself, actually believe. In this age of science and astronomy, the Universe has become impossibly large, Who can believe that it is a creation by some kind of intelligence? Perhaps the best that one can do is simply to act as if one believed, and that would mean to follow the Law as given to us by the one who did believe: "Return good for evil."

What makes us superior to animals is Reason, so anything that clouds our reasoning is dangerous however comforting it might be, religion drunkenness drugs paranoia etc

Spirituality is by definition the belief in a spirit and spirit world. It sounds like the person who did this talk didn't know thats what it is.

I'm not sure this guy in the video knows what spirituality mean, or what science mean.

The great irony here is that to do science you are trading on the capital of Christianity. It wasn't Epicureans who made modern science. It wasn't Marxists (who wrecked everything they touched), it wasn't naturalists/materialists. It was Christians. Why? The reason is in the first two chapters of Genesis: it sets out the framework for understanding the world as > intelligible (because it was created in comprehensible propositional terms by a mind and with rational causality, as opposed to the nonsense causality of pagan myths) > differentiated from its creator: there are no 'spooks' who will be offended by science, > subject to mankind's intellect: Adam did the first science in classifying the animal kingdom ('naming the animals brought to him), and instructed to subdue: that is, to understand, care for and maintain the earth/cosmos. It sets out why science is possible, desirable and indeed, essential to mankind's well being. We know God created the world for our habitation and prosperity and so are confident to study it, with a joyful faith that as a coherent intelligible world, we will gain knowledge. Naturalism only has a pile of dust and any action by that pile of dust other than to enable its continuation, has no inherent meaning. And even its continuation (by Dawkins' magic genes) has no meaning. Science without God will degenerate into a political power play...which is what we now see.

Sadly, it escapes the notice of our self-absorbed, glamour-saturated world that we're in a spiritual war for souls. The immensity of ignorance is astonishing: the dark powers are *bedazzling* the minds of the masses (Ephesians 6:12). We've inherited ancient spiritual subversion.... *the Earth is fallen* .... Any previously perceived discrepancies or contradictions are ironed out and the supernatural narrative flows most beautifully..... ..... the Bible is the Revelation of *Jesus Christ* (Isaiah 2:2-4; 9:6-7 & 45:23, Daniel 7:13-14, Matthew 28:18, Mark 14:62, Revelation 1:7-8 & 18, Rev 19:11-21)

Interesting putting 'placebo' in the title because the placebo effect is a real thing that science struggles to explain. It is also a fact that so many Nobel laureates are believers in God.

When we “die” we DO go ‘over the lip of the Event Horizon’ as literally as an idiot in a barrel goes over Niagara Falls. Insofar as dying is the ultimate outbound experience, beholding oneself in transition is entirely possible. In advance of the final “command performance” it is recommended one becomes well acquainted with objectively beholding oneself. When beholding oneself successfully is the objective, what means are employed becomes paramount. Materially, using a vanity mirror is certainly a means. Intellectually beholding oneself as well as emotionally beholding oneself at the same time would recommend itself as a means to achieve that end.

All religions seem intolerant until you compare them to atheism - former atheist. How to think like an atheist: 1. reject evidence because it´s supernatural. 2. reject evidence because it´s not supernatural. Basically reject everything. Four miracles of atheism: 1. getting something from nothing 2. getting life from non-life 3. getting order from chaos 4. getting the immaterial from physical matter.

You wouldn't have science without religion. All the major branches of modern science were started by Bible believing creationists.

God is the most important idea that shapes all our understanding of reality. Reality can not be explained without God. The only way that what has a beginning of existence or creation can exist is if God exists. Is not the end of atheism what you always wanted? Is not the end of atheism what you say you want? Logically it is impossible the existence of an infinite number of causes and effects, therefore an eternal first uncaused cause that caused what has a beginning of existence must exist. God is the first uncaused cause, that's it!, that's all! And if the universe was created from an incredibly powerful and intelligent entity we have to expect rationally an eternal surprise when we die. Would you do me a favor and memorize and understand the atheist logical fallacy because future generations would understand what humanity don't want to understand. The truth is atheism is a logical fallacy that assumes God is the religious idea of the creator of the creation to conclude wrongly no creator exists because a particular idea of God doesn’t exist. I know what is atheism because atheists have explained it to me almost infinite times. A logical fallacy is an error of reasoning that leads to the wrong conclusion, a misunderstanding of reality. I am trying to overcome the most severe and devastating censorship in history. Do you think I am joking talking about God? God is literally everything that exist past, present and future, not a horror tale to scare and control kids. God is reality, substance. Life matters because God exists.
