I big reason is that the CCP will not allow that tomb to be opened. Given that we do not have the technical know how to guarantee that the site would be protected….until that technology does exist, this site will remain undisturbed.

We can send robots to mars but we we don’t have the technology or techniques to safely send a robot and a camera into the tomb 🤷‍♂️

The first emperor's tomb is said to have mercury river in it, and the soil around the tomb does have higher mercury concentration. That's probably why it has not been excavated.
