Good idea about 3 Bye weeks if the season were to expand to 18 weeks…however, I can’t see them doing that but 2 weeks seems reasonable. Plus it would help eliminate the bias towards teams which get later season bye weeks which the Steelers never seem to get.
I share your optimism Chris and hope Arthur Smith sees the same potential and utilizes it. Four targets per game for Washington seems a minimum for a player who moves the chains at a career 60% rate and rarely drops the ball. Much of his success at Georgia was outside the hash marks as a monster sideline target or as a mismatch in the end zone. We also haven't had a QB who utilized play action fakes well since Bradshaw and Franco. It puts LBers in a tough position when they don't know if they should cover Washington in the flat or brace for a pancake block.

I think it was stupid to make it a 17 games season. Leave it alone, I said, but the greedy owners wanted to make more money. If players don't get proper rest and recovery time, the product put on the field suffers. I would rather see these guys play in top form.
18 games. 2-3 bye weeks. Football into March. Why the heck not. Overall more money for the NFL owners. More rest for the players. More football for the fans. I love the idea.
Because you didn't account for the NUMBER ONE concern... the injuries will absolutely spike up. They already are adding week 18. A little more rest will not stop that.
In reference to Wilson and Austin being on the field at the same time, In theory, that would be situational play. For example, The Falcon corner backs are not a deep group. I'm going Shotgun 5 wide. They have Bates but he'll likely be on Pickens. The rest are scrubs. They're not 😮. Oh okay they're not.
I can see Plume unseating Fields. Both are athletic QB's. will come down too whoo throws the best and picks up the offense. a least keep him for next year because I do toot belie Fields will be resigned.

Like you spent the whole off-season telling us how he wasn't anywhere near what they hoped, he would be nor showing signs of anything close. Yet these past couple videos over the past couple weeks you keep bringing him up like he's going to be some essential part of the team. Is there like a bias towards this guy?
Nope. When he was trending downwards last season, we noted that a lot. But from what we've been hearing from coaches/other players, there's a lot of confidence he's back on the track they wanted him on. Wasn't just me either, as both Alan and Jim have said as much in shows. Still has to show it, but there's a chance he can be part of the rotation again.
