Steve Jobs didn’t want an iPad mini. He hated the idea. The original iPad was the perfect size and anything smaller just wouldn’t be usable. He made fun of the tiny Android tablets already on the market, literally saying you’d have to shave down your fingers just to hit the tap targets, and that all they could run was blown up phone apps. An unbelievably ironic statement for reasons I’ll get into in a future video.
So, he had Apple focus on making the iPad 2 faster, thinner, and lighter, the iPad 3 Retina, and the iPad 4… fixing the iPad 3.
But then something interesting happened...

I went to Best Buy the other day and I was next to a guy that needed to buy six iPad minis for his restaurant. I never knew who was the demographic was for the mini until that moment. It offers a nice size and convenience between the iPhone and iPad while still offering a nice screen real estate,

The iPad mini was my first iPad and I haven’t looked back. The original iPad was so big to me and the whole iPad lineup (iPad, iPad Air, iPad Pro) is still really big to me. I love the mini, now iPad mini 5. I use it daily along with my iPhone 12 mini. Awesome products.

I love my iPad Mini 5. Perfectly sized! I got it instead of a new, larger iPhone because I wanted to keep using my loyal, one-handed SE1.

I never understood that “shaving down your finger” comment by Jobs considering I watched the keynote in 2007 when he held up his finger and said, “this is the best stylus in the world”. The man literally invented the 2.5” smartphone screen and then disparaged a 6” tablet screen. Brain freeze from too many smoothies I guess.

No. Most movies have that horrendous black bars because of the iPad's 4:3 aspect ratio.

Accurate… My first tablet was a Nexus 7” (not a Samsung) because I was just looking for an ebook reader! When my toddler dropped it and it killed it, I upgraded to the iPad mini3 and never looked back. Still rocking the iPad min 5 (even as a mature aged BA student, the perfect secondary device size if you already have a Mac) and look forward to its next generation (still praying for a mini Pro).

I’m loving the iPad mini The most portable iPad made by Apple. even though it’s just an inch bigger than the iPhone Max. But having the iPad apps in the smaller form factor is quite nice! And I’m glad Apple is working on making an iPad Mini with smaller bezels

My first iPad! Editing photos was insanely fast compared to iPhone 4 I had been using. I used this “underpowered from the get-go” device 4 years until iPhone 6s Plus spoiled me with its display quality.

I think the next iPad mini should be bumped up to 8.5", 8.8/8.9, or 9" in screen size with minimal bezels like the 10.9" iPad Air & 11" iPad Pro models. That iPad design looks perfect

My first iPad was the original mini. Loved the size and weight. But my ability to read small print has deteriorated some over the last 9 years, so when I upgraded a few years ago, I went to the 9.7” model. It’s not that I can’t read on the 7.9”, I mean, I use an iPhone, so clearly I can read the smaller screens and text sizes, but it is more challenging.

The only iPad I have on is the iPad mini it’s currently running like iOS 7 or 11 something like that. All the apps no longer support that OS but still use a time to time. I really enjoyed it back in its prime!

The iPad Mini is the preferred tablet for General Aviation Pilots. While the "Big Boys" (737, A320 etc) have plenty of room for a full size iPad, the mini is the perfect size for all of us low and slow guys! it fits on the Yoke with out getting in the way or on the side windscreen where it does not block your view.

I use my IPAD mini all the time. It's the size that makes it perfect for me. I have no interest in a bigger IPAD, so here's hoping the next IPAD mini comes with a bigger screen but with the same footprint. And I hope they give it the same specs as the current IPAD Air or even better.

The benefit of the iPad Mini is portability, the Galaxy Note does a better job at that and includes the S Pen. It has proven there’s a market for stylus in phones. I am sure jobs would agree to adapt the new iPhone Max to the current market place instead of sticking to what he said dogmatically years ago . I like Apple Notes and I wish I could transition to an iPhone that has a mini Apple Pencil instead.

Depends on the video. Sometimes the Nebula version is up the day before. Sometimes around the same time. Sometimes there's an error in one of the uploads and I have to do it again. Nebula videos can also be longer, sometimes quite a bit longer, so if I'm uploading at the same time, it takes longer to upload and process. That's why I only ever promise ad free, sponsor free, and often bonus content - I can't always control human error on my part and server speeds on their parts :)

I feel crazy for saying this but i need another iPad anyone else feels this way? Bringing an iPad pro to sell cars is ridiculous plus i feel like the mini is its own thing. I remember it being a very personal cozy experience good for reading and using an iPad vertically like an iPhone so poorly done iPad apps like the CRM i use at work the experience would be miles better vertical. Plus cost i could lose 3 ipad minis for the cost of my iPad Pro and magic keyboard.

You might not need it, I do! The iPad Mini fits perfectly in the pockets of a typical british wax cotton jacket. Barbour in my case.

I find that I want the phone I carry all the time to be smaller (so have the 6 in iPhone 12), while mini is the perfect size for a tablet that I use a lot but don’t carry around with me everywhere. Meanwhile 7 inch Android tablets are just not right and too small. I guess I’m picky but the current Apple selection is perfectly sized for me.

The mini was GREAT for home automation/remote control apps! I am rather glad Jobs is worm food...I stayed away from Apple for a LONG time because I couldn't stand his arrogance, or his take that he knew better than the rest of us!
