Also just to add on top of that, (not eNTIRELY sure if this is canon) but there was a Stranger Things comic book that showed Will's point of view during season 1 and it just sorta had Joyce's letters appear as she painted it on the wall. The theory about how the upside down version of Hawkins wasn't created by Vecna but instead Will would sorta explain why that version is still stuck in 1983 since it's something maybe he created?? I don't know, regardless it's a pretty small detail hopefully this sorta made sense pfftt

@@lilysilzpretty much. They wanted to open the door to kids having different kind of powers but the show was so hated they abandoned the plot line and all the kids essentially all have similar powers.

I think Vecna is just evil, through and through. If he had happy memories, they would be of him killing his family or when he killed a bunch of kids at the Hawkins lab. Max is going to be vital in taking down Veca. I think we'll see her reunited with her body. I'm unsure if I think she'll be fully paralyzed but I'm confident she'll be blind and in a wheelchair.

I think Jonathan will die in S5. They did dirty to Jonathan's character in S4 while forcing some Nancy-Jonathan tandem in some scenes. The only way they can make this happen is to kill Jonathan so they can be together. They do the same for Bob so Joyce and Hopper can be together.

The Duffers have said that they genuinely considered whether killing her off was a better ending than the fakeout, so no it wasn't set in stone. Sadie only would have been told what their plan was for her after they'd figured it out in the writers room, which the Duffers have admitted wasn't always a clear cut decision.

They said that when they sent out the script for episode 9

It’s a cop out cos it’s simply dangling a death in front of your face to be like “omg no” then just bring them back cos they’re too popular. They did the same with hopper. They make a big impactful scene that would’ve played out the same if he was actually dead…then reveal at the end of the season that he’s not dead and was captured by the Russians. But then they introduce new characters every season and kill them off with no qualms. It just becomes really cheap. Of course I don’t wanna see max die. But don’t build up this amazing death scene and have Lucas in tears screaming; and max saying “I’m not ready to die” and then have her “die” so Vecna can get what he wants, and then El is like “nooooo” and pull some bullshit magic where she is now not dead.

I feel he’ll sacrifice himself against the mind flayer.

No babe. His dad fought in WW2 & Agent Orange was used in Vietnam (more on that later.) It appears powers come from the mother & we know 001 detested his mom for "doing bad things" & that she suspected his abilities. Perhaps she took LSD while pregnant, like the MKUltra test subjects (this is probably how Kali got powers outside the experiment.) Maybe she had powers she passed to him but wanted a normal life with ordinary, unspecial Victor. Or possibly, she took measures to make them stop, 50's psych style. Yikes. Whatever the case, we know he resents the hell out of his parents, seemingly his mother the most. Now back to Agent Orange. My dad fought in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive when AO usage was at its' peak. He developed illnesses & passed others onto me & my sisters, all nongenetic w/zero family history. The VA acknowledged AO exposure was the cause & provided compensation until he died 3 weeks ago. He was 74. I bring it up because it was nice to finally see it represented in mainstream media. It not only further developed his character by explaining his headspace of guilt, pain & anger but also represented the tragic reality & negative effects endured by combat vets & their families, respectively. I appreciate it wasn't sensationalized & used merely for entertainment purposes. To credit something that has caused so much real-world pain as the source of a monster's make-believe powers would be exploitative & insensitive.

Hop's biological daughter didn't have powers. 2nd- The idea of it occurred during WW2 but it was never compounded or used. 3rd - I choose to believe that the Duffer Brothers have more respect for veterans & their families than to erroneously & irresponsibly exploit them for fictitious entertainment purposes.

I was onboard until you mentioned making Will evil would be a bad trope because reasons. Why can we not treat being gay as if being gay is irrelevant to who they are as a person or character? Like, why do we have to think about whether or not someone is gay if their character arc is to become a villain for reasons entirely unrelated to being gay? Sounds pretty homophobic to me.

I understand where you’re coming from especially when you know the lore of Vecna in D&D like how he has his soul in people and they have to be destroyed for him to be destroyed but the thing is they’ve made him suffer so much in every season, they’ve given him no happiness, he’s even sacrificed his love life, and then he dies? The bury the gays trope gets show’s writers in SO MUCH heat nowadays that it’s happening less and less. And with Stranger Things, a show where an extremely large portion of the audience is LGBT and relates with Will, I think they know that nobody will be satisfied with the ending and everyone will be mad. I don’t know how they’re going to resolve it without killing him but I think they know they pretty much have to.

I watched the whole scene again a few days ago, and no we don't see 010's eyes... We just see him lying on the floor, in the exact same position of Brenner near him... That's why this theory is a little more possible than Alice Creel being Karen Wheeler, because we see her closer with her eyes imploded. Plus, when Eddie was talking with Chrissy in the woods, he mentioned he had his hair buzzed when he was in middle school.... Why this detail ?? The Duffers never put details with no reason... So here, there are good reasons to wonder and make theories ;-)

I think something was really wrong with either Millie's acting or the direction she was given that day. The reunion feels underwhelming because she doesn't act like she's seeing someone she thought was dead: she's acting like she's seeing someone she's sure been missing a while, but knew was fine. There's no shock when he turns up, it's just instant relief, and it feels really underwhelming. Same with everyone else for that matter. Hopper just came back from the dead and Mike's here cracking jokes about how he's not fat anymore. Just because we've been vibing with Hopper all season doesn't mean these guys were...

If they bring back Eddie as Kas, they could spin his character in a way that lures his former friends and kills them, literally begin to haunt the town of Hawkins like they accused him of.
