Well as someone who is currently suffering from depression I would say you are correct. My God is the reason why I am able to fight my depression. And I literally have to fight it. Depression is no joke it's difficult. It can go unnoticed by alot of people.

@@sallyrile7601 I do have a therapist too and I am way better than when I wrote that message. I was told to do meditation and exercises. I love doing Zumba. That really works for me. Also when some one is in a depressive state of mind you can read anything. Reading and retaining becomes super difficult because the mind is in a state of confusion and frustration too.

This literally hit hard.. This man has described My feelings.. I have felt so disconnected for so many years. Even though I have a loving, supportive family, great friends, I have a stable job, I have talents, potentials, etc but often find myself empty & lonely & out of touch in the real world.. It’s like I don’t feel anything.. Just like Cheslie, I feel pressured.. I’m almost 40 & feels like I haven’t really achieved what I want in life, even though I have achieved many things that others haven’t.. I’m so blessed, but I always see myself wanting more but feeling less.. It’s like I want to achieve this.. but why would I want such thing!? And if I achieve it, then what? Sometimes I achieve my goals only to find out that it doesn’t give me happiness & satisfaction.. After hearing this, I kindda cried because not only he was describing Cheslie, but myself.. I have suicidal tendencies, but I’m really praying not to get to that point.. I’m hoping that day won’t come for me..

I feel like you have just analysed me and I can totally relate. An over achiever, pushing myself to extreme limits to prove something can be done and then it gets done beyond everyone’s expectation and then I say, what next? What next ?what next ? But I feel disconnected from the world. I feel so distant. Thank you for analysing this. No one has ever broken this down. ❤️

I have Cheslie Kryst’s dissociative habits. I was always a quiet kid, into making art. I was a pretty emo-ish teenager too. It started that young. But to prove to myself I was worthy, I went to the best private art school, worked so hard, challenged myself, got internships, got married, moved to cali. I got fit, I got muscles, I accomplished things most people won’t ever get to experience. It takes ultimate discipline. People with this dissociative habit truly have unprecedented amounts of anxiety about finding ‘meaning’ and ‘purpose’ in life. Personally, this story hit me hard because I also am a high achiever, and I sought out help for depression and was told I was normal. Normal because I experienced hard things in life like divorce and losing my mother. Just because I’m very put together on the outside, doesn’t mean I’m not depressed. I am constantly fighting to beat my depression by being overproductive. This, in turn, doesn’t look like depression in people. I think about death and the afterlife a lot. I feel like my anxiety and stress get way out of control. I could resonate with cheslie krysts story. I worked so hard and went to private school to be where I am in my company, and I make great money…but I feel empty inside. I never feel present in my relationships. I’m never satisfied or present. I want to smoke weed and feel nothing all the time. I feel like life is all a charade. I also am very apathetic and don’t feel much. The only thing that brings me dopamine and makes me keep it together is my 6 year old son.

I think that the description in this video may be valid- the disassociated state or split sense of self Sajady describes in Chesley. I am not sure that Sajady offers any real treatment. Chesley's father said her problems began with the break-up of her parents. I think other problems surfaced about being black in American society. Many black women state that you have to be at your superlative best at all times to be successful, to be noticed, to be given a chance. I saw a video of Chesley describing what it was like to be black and the patronizing and condescending ways white people treated her She made a statement about her difficulties reaching the age of thirty and how 'she was running out of time to make a difference and to be noticed by the world'. So, I really think a lot of things were going on with her that created this constant cloud that followed her around. I believe that high functioning depression is a type of bi-polar depression. A kind of hypomania- where you are high most of the time, until you are alone with yourself. For this reason I wonder whether medication, in her case, may have made a difference in her life. I read that Chesley had counseling, but she didn't take medicine or antidepressants. Could medication given her that necessary missing element?

I said that her at the beginning… Her father also said she was pure, not on meds, but in reality maybe meds would have helped her.. Interesting listening to his interpretation of helping her to feel grounded… bring her back into reality… also on one video she said she was so tired, many of the comments I listen to now after the fact, she reveals many signs… always asking who is your favorite superhero to the celebrities which was a unique question but very naive or pure like her father said.. very childlike.,, her mother was her best friend? I loved my mother but she was always my mother and not a friend…..It appears she was from another zone, and she was so overwhelmed with being an overachiever and when they said she was always happy… that’s a sign. I am a very empathetic person and have had a very interesting life, but when I would here my co workers or acquaintances say they were always happy.. I knew they were fake… My philosophy is be honest with yourself, put God in your life. when all seems hopeless. get your Bible and read it or Google online. Psalms is the book I would go to often when circumstances in my life because overwhelming. Plus get a good psychiatrist…… God made psychiatrists to help him help people.. it goes hand and hand…

This video is enlightening. I have suffered from anxiety and depression for many years... also am an introvert with social anxiety. Years of confusion and intermittent counseling throughout different phases of my adult life... Including but not limited to divorce, loss of a child to pediatric cancer(extreme low) Have been consistently on meds. All stemming from childhood trauma. Your analysis is so true. One thing Ive realized, only within this past year, is that I had to embrace life and myself in the midst of every wave, large or small. Learning to meditate and take control of my mind in any environment, most importantly when Im alone. Not easy at all but its saved my life. I also have the foundation of God. So the connection or spiritual guidance with a higher power has also been important for me. My heart goes out to anyone with depression. I hope we all continue shedding light on this illness. I don't believe anyone wants to take their life, they just need help.

I see this in someone that I love very much and it's heartbreaking. They talk very fast & anxiously but are always looking off..rarely in the eye. They say no one sees me or knows my name. Theyve expressed 24/7 anxiety. Also often depression that they say they escape by lying to themselves about the situation they're in. So much more I can compare with what was said in this video. I've set up a therapy appt for them this week.

A lot of people today see the world and do not see hope. They think this is all there is. They think this is the best we can do. The whole world is sick. She was seeing a therapist. Do you think the therapist new the depth of her problems? If so, did she not know how to treat? Couple things noted with her: she made a comment about why win another award....what is the point. Regarding law, she had stopped practicing largely due to the stress of “billable” hours, but also because she enjoyed entertainment more. Did you ever see “ Better Call Saul?” Saul’s older brother was a high-achieving attorney who had a mental illness regarding an aversion to anything electric, which rendered him home bound with no electricity. In an attempt to get past the phobia he started to venture out and to assist in this process he would name out colors when saw them; e.g., at supermarket he would see a banana and say yellow. Is that similar to the chair and window reference, or do the words need to come from another person? He eventually committed suicide because electricity was emanating from somewhere in his house and he tore down walls trying to find the source until he got so exasperated he kicked over a lantern on purpose and set his house on fire. Did anyone notice any disconnect in Chelsea? Did she lack close friends or was that irrelevant? I do not believe she had a boyfriend. Would modern psychology agree with your assessment or is this more of a fringe science?

An empty soul can never be satisfied. When you're dissociated, you implode and feel numb. They're emotionally unavailable. Imagine being married. I agree with all you've stated. They seek identity in success and achievements, and its never enough. Because they don't see themselves, seek external validation, and it's never enough. I pray she's finally at peace.

In her mind, she accomplished all that there was to accomplish. What was there left to do? Her life was complete in her mind, although empty. But everyone has a God-sized hole in their hearts, in the shape of a cross, that only the Lord can fill. I wish she would have called on Jesus Christ.. even her name was so close to our Savior's, I just wish things ended differently for her... "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart..."

Didn't you say you would lead up to and explain something at the end of the vlog? What was it? Disassociation of self? FYI It wasn't clearly and conclusively referenced as the answer. I think the most enlightening thing you said was that she had achieved more than 4 lifespans already. If she still hadn't valued her achievements she was exhausted and perhaps could not continue on at the pace and methods that she had used in the past. She probably felt much older than she was.

I agree with you! Where is the concrete evidence? The poster of this video is just hypothesizing and speculating by what was broadcast by a one sided media, HOLLYWEIRD(Hollywood) and a police dept that has been plagued with coverups since its inception.🤔 None of us were there to witness one doggone "thang"! The media can say anything and the masses will take it as the golden definitive truth.🗣️ Such may not be the case! This "so-called" suicide has a lot of holes in its story and coverage.🧐🤔🤨😏 None of us witness the video footage and her family could have released their statement the way they did out of fear. I'm quite sure they are still doing their own private investigations behind the scenes. This is not the end of this so-called suicide.

This is an interesting point of view. This explores the down side to being an over achiever. It's glorified in the USA, but those people suffer from high levels of anxiety as well as fragility. Their sense of self worth is based on their ability to achieve or perform, so if they are unable to achieve something they feel worthless. And then they don't get the help they need because other people can't relate or don't understand why they are unhappy. I also agree that their inability to connect with the physical world distorts their perception and reality.

She expressed feeling HOPELESS. She was also said to have experienced online bullying with people trolling her with negative comments about her looks, her beauty, her body and her muscular arms to accusations she may have been of a different gender. Suffice it to say, if they could find those individuals they might charge them with harassment which resulted in suicide. In accordance with law I don't know to say they would charge for murder but it should be illegal to be mean to a person if it results in their suicide. Suffice it to say it is wrong to be mean and people should try to be nice, that they should make the effort to be kind.

Trust me...the people that bullied her online with their negative rants definitely should be held accountable as contributors in Cheslie's death. She was an intelligent, pretty and classy lady. She wore that crown well and had many admirers. 🥰 The online bullies will definitely see her in their dreams and maybe in person! They will reap what they have sowed! The body dies but the spirit lives on and on. Yes! Those envious, jealous and maybe racist ignorant people that heckled her will be visited by Cheslie. The images, dreams and weird occurrences that they will repeatedly experience, see, dream and hear in their lives will not be "PRETTY"!

Mas, your video was brilliant about Cheslie. I kinda think Cheslie lost herself trying to be good as mom and reaching all her goals before age 30 The video above puts most of this in perspective. Author John Bradshaw coined the term Toxic Shame, when a person feels they are permanently defective or bad. He said they rarely understand what normal or fixable shame is. The core belief with Toxic Shame is I am not good enough and I am not worth loving. Add to that Cheslie falsely believing she was getting too old and did not know how to manage her stresses. She only knew how to be super woman by staying busy and never learned how to deal with her disappointments in healthy ways. Cheslie was a mirror of her mom and not having her mom close by in NYC to rely on, having broken up with her boyfriend in Charlotte 2 years ago, feeling isolated due to Covid and living alone in NYC made the pressure more than she could handle.

The disassociation that she went through was part of her life journey and I can relate 100%. I've had many successes in life and it only makes things worse when you do have those successes because you cannot feel them. Maybe it will get better in the future for me but seriously, many people you see smiling or happy, have a lot inside of them💔. Thanks so much for this video. I appreciate a lot and RIP Cheslie😔

Extremely interesting. I never saw it that way but always acknowledged how people say, you need to feel this way or you should not be feeling this way. Mental illness is such a complex disease. If we cannot understand it imagine the people who are actually in it... How can the initial disconnection be prevented?

I thought some people famous or not,act and behave differently behind closed doors . Most people may be involved with drugs while they are alone. She probably thought she could fly when she went off the balcony as a way to disconnect.

I believe I 'GET' what your saying in the sense of 'PROVING YOUR WORTH!' I myself have an International career of 35 years within the Beauty Industry. I in fact feel like I have still NOT ARRIVED! I think it really does stem from an upbringing of NOT BEING SEEN! You put THE MOST AMOUNT OF PRESSURE ON YOURSELF! It has taken until after 50 to feel content in standing still within myself! I no longer feel pressured to impress others but still have a desire to impress myself! Depression is very much a Metaphysical reaction!

Most people are disconnected especially in a society that’s full of judgement! I believe she was just bored 😐 being in this earthly 🌍 realm! I believed if she knew her purpose over the success that she was told she needed to have in order to be happy by external influences! She may still be here. Because success doesn’t make you happy! Being fulfilled In Your Life Purpose Does! Passion Leads To Purpose! Success Without Purpose Is Failure! She Felt Empty! Hopefully She’s Found Divine Purpose On The Other Side!

Wow, your analysis is spot on! 🎯🎯🎯 These types of people can appear (on the outside) to have it all but if they are disconnected from themselves, they'll never truly be happy. Without a clear purpose, gratitude, true meaning, or progression in their life (because they are so disconnected) they'll always feel this sense of lack/void in their life.

I have the feeling that she was very sensitive and vulnerable person who believed that if she becomes like what is accepted as "strong and successful" person would make her also more thick-skinned. But instead she continued to feel pain and couldn't handle it.

What is the root cause for the dissociation, in her case, spacial referencing helps a lot, but isnt it about a root cause that made her dissociate at the first place, and how can u merge the timeless body with time bound body. thank you.

I think they had a bad childhood or disconnect abandonment issues. It’s crazy she went from law to beauty pageants. And social media got to her by comparison social influencer pressure and unrealistic expectations. Criticism and self harm. Depression and isolation. Very sad.

I think these people who are propelled to a "celebrity" status, or are high=achievers, live in a world of high=expectations. Everything has to be perfect, 24/7. And some of them know that with age, the fear of losing their looks or becoming less popular may be something they can't handle due to insecurity and the belief that perfection is everything. That being less than perfect may not measure up with their peers or family or whoever. I remember seeing "Sleeping with the Enemy" where the husband had to have everything perfect, in its place. Just my little opinion....from the peanut gallery. BTW I agree with what you are saying.

Over last couple of decades, I’ve gotten impression people don’t “listen” anymore, nor do they really “chat”. I know good people that sadly just monologue. This leaves you feeling empty, not heard, disconnected. This is a little better in countries that have strong communal bonds (tribes).

While watching the video of her being crowned Ms. USA and how she was smiling and looking so happy, I really think that she was acting as though she felt real joy, even though she didn’t. I recognized this because it is the exact way that I “act”. If I’m supposed to be overjoyed about something, I respond as though I physically feel overjoyed, when I actually am completely numb and feel nothing. DP/DR often starts because of a traumatic experience. Our bodies naturally go into either a fight, flight, or freeze response. Depersonalization/derealization is the ultimate freeze response. It blunts/numbs the emotions in order to try to protect us from the traumatic period we went through. But for some of us, the blunting never goes away, and we stay numb and out of it. We are physically here and often look well on the outside, but we’re not actually “there.” I’ve personally been dealing with DP/DR for 3.5 years now after a traumatic event, and you described it extremely well. People rarely know about it, and it’s very difficult and is complicated to describe, and people usually just don’t understand it. Or you explain it to someone and then because it never goes away us (like, it’s chronic), they forget that you are stuck like this ALL. THE. TIME (eververy single day we are “out of it”) or because they’re caring people, it hurts them knowing that we cannot feel connected to them. So I’ve found it easier to not really try to tell people anymore, and I just try my hardest to “act normal.” Most people in my life have no real idea that I literally cannot feel a connection to them. Even if I care about them and love them a lot, internally I am numb and nothing that they can say or do can actually make me FEEL joy. I simply respond and react as though I feel it. It’s like we’re constantly getting the “do not pass go, do not collect $100” card in monopoly, but instead, the card reads “keep existing every single day, but do not collect the joy, happiness, fulfillment, connection [insert any positive emotion here].” I know her mom did say she had depression, and I think it’s completely likely that she had depersonalization, and possibly derealization too, but that people in her life (family, friends, and even therapists) didn’t know. Few people have ever even heard of DPDR, and I’ve yet to find a cure that works. I’m not suicidal, but I can see how someone could be so frustrated and overcome by our constant sensation of being trapped in this strange, blurry reality. I’m no overachiever and will certainly never achieve as much as that beauty did. Whether or not she experienced DP/DR, my heart breaks for her. Rest in peace, Queen. 💔

I think the environment one is raised shapes our identity and emotional health. We live in the century of the self. Family and media is constantly giving us the message that our worth is based on external factors such youth, beauty, social class, financial and social achievements. I think Cheslie might have been raised in that environment.

My life is a gift of God, it is not because of my hard work and I don't need to run the race every time to be connected with the world or to be seen by people or get fame. My advice to people suffering such as these situations, need to read the Bible regularly and pray whole heartedly every day, attend Sunday Holy Eucharistic Mass or Counseling Centers. Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord is the answer of our needs, who gives life in abundance in John 10:10

I know someone that is an extreme over achiever. She had done it, knew more about whatever it was, and had moved on. I couldn't talk to her more than an hour. I couldn't stand it. It was competition. I wanted to know her, but after that, no. No personal connection. Her kids are extreme over achievers. Only people on her Facebook page are her parents. It should be filled with friends. I felt bad for the kid. Cheslie had a day in her life video she made. She worked a 20hr day in the vid. No one can sustain 20hr days. In a talk she said, she is on all sorts of committees, and only sleeps a few hrs, and was showing off her walls of achievements.
