I got a 2+2 auto non turbo Z recently here in Australia, needs body work and care but it’s about keeping it going. I’ve got mad respect for this guy keeping his baby running for so long, with so much money spent too. That’s commitment

My 1990, first year Z32 300ZX 2+2 5spd is extremely rare I'm told. The factory 16" wheels were replaced with 18" OZ Racing "Monte Carlo" wheels, the same as used on some Lamborghini's back in the day. Supposedly, they are worth more than the car! I parked mine in storage a few years ago because I planned on replacing the interior and doing some body dent repair. It is perfect underneath and completely rustfree. Good to see one being rescued.

I have a 94 300zx Slicktop NA 2 seater 5speed. I can't imagine going through that many engines let alone transmissions.

Hang onto that slicktop. Those are hard to come by. For me it was alot of bad luck. Story of my life. Right now she actually still needs a knock sensor for this engine so it still runs a bit rough, but it mostly sits in the garage with a battery tender on it now.

I knew it was I just didn't know how rare they are. I'm am restoring it so my son can inherit it when he has a kid. He's only 5 now so who knows. As for your knock sensor why don't you use the 1M ohm resister at the sensor plug? I wired it in and took care of the roughness and the engine code. You can also use a 68k ohm resister for the EGR, if you wanted to delete that off your engine. Works like a charm.

What I've read is you can advance the timing 17 degrees and that takes care of that. The guy I bought mine from had already done that and did the EGR delete kit and knock sensor delete. And did you get the 500 resistor kit from RadioShack? I freaking did and now I have no idea what the hell I'm going to do with 498 damn resistors. lol

Z1 sells a knock sensor relocation kit so you dont have to pull apart the top half of the motor to get into place. It's quite convenient.

at 6:16 he said the 2+2 did not come with the twin turbo, however only in america did it not. In the Japan it did. and considering these cars are available to import as of a few years now people need to know this difference, as my 91 RHD 300zx is a 2+2 TT in factory trim.

We in the UK had the twin turbo release too. I’ve just bought another but needs serious rust repair to put back on the road. Not many UK TT Manuals left due to the Nissan oversight on under seal etc etc for our terrible climate!

I've got a 94 2+0 NA and love it currently working on it here and there to prep for paint. there beautiful cars. I hate how expensive they are to work on. and were I'm located it's nearly impossible to find parts but I'll never stop loving the Z

@@Rs817t my speedo yes. I am confident it was my gear/ speed sensor in my transmission. I have since put another transmission in my car and has worked ever since. My odometer gets stuck and I have taken my cluster apart and cleaned it a few times. Perhaps it is a week motor or connection. That part works when it wants to. I pretty much daily the car so not to worried if it works or not. Im proud of mileage. The car shows 235,000km probably has more so around 250,000km

We have a 1991 300zx TT 2 + 2 and it's fun to drive without 'hammering it to death. ha-ha These cars are so naturally beautiful they don't need to be thrashed. ha-ha As you own a 350z & a z32 zx, you can confirm that the z32 is more comfortable & practical as a daily drive. ha-ha Having owned 3 X z32 zx's TT 2 + 2 (300whp; 650 whp; 400 whp), over the years, we think just over 400whp is the ideal power to weight ratio of these timelessly, beautiful cars.

I just picked up a 1990 TT the guy I got it from flu the motor back in the 90s ordered all Japanese race Parts took it into the machine shop they had to rebalance everything I have all the machine notes the new turbos I really just needs to be assembled I really need to get in contact with some sort of 300ZX community

I did a fuel injector harness swap, which was not real hard, but saw lots of negative info on it. Granted, everything is packed into that engine bay, but it's all a matter of removing shit just to touch certain other things. Most vehicles have some similar systems issues. This is likely one of the worst tho from a mechanic's POV. Engineering wise, its the shit dude! Can you cram any more shit into that tiny space? Yup! Didn't think so!! Not without milspec harness, etc

i almost barfed when he said he dropped 15k into is auto 2+2. ive owned both a 2+2 (in gr8 condition with only 103k on the clock) and now I currently have a manual TT and spent less in total than this guy has. not to mention his is in really rough shape...

I honestly can say that my car is in better shape all around but it does have issues and they are minor but annoying. But I also put about 10K into my car and that's only in the engine dept, I haven't been able to do anything else, I've owned the car for 2 years and its been in shops for about 1.5 years. My goal was to daily drive this car, well kinda hard to do so in a 27 Year old car lol. There is a huge list of parts that was needed to go into this car due to age and neglect of previous owner in Japan.

In my defense I never claimed to be a smart man. I got wrapped into the let a mechanic fix it instead of doing it yourself. I've since learned my lesson. And the reason it's in rough shape is because it sat exposed to the elements in the Mississippi sun for a year and a half at the mechanics shop waiting for a new engine

Damn sir you sure has had some bad luck with your Z...knock...knock and finally someone who shares same thoughts about the kids who should of bought themselves a little Honda Civic instead of this money pit of a good car, the Z is a very delicate piece of machine and if no TLC is given to it it will breakdown and so will your wallet
