Why The C5 Z06 Is The Most Underrated Car On The Market! 

I've always liked the fixed-roof coupe design over the regular hatchback design.

I have had 4 generations of the corvette.C-3 ,4,5,6. The C-5 is when the world changed for Corvette with the hydro-formed frame.Gone were the squeaks and rattles of the C3 and C4. It is both tame and raw depending on how far you push the pedal.. I currently have a modded D1x pro-charged C-5 with 742 rwhp and a stock LS7 C6Z06. The C5 is a go-cart with a jet engine. The car has more capabilities than I have abilities. I also recommend the C-5 platform to anyone wanting bang for the buck. They have mods that can take your LS platform to over 1400 hp and keep your A/C. They are easy to fix and maintain with basic mechanical knowledge. There are forums to help with identifying flaws and marketplaces to buy and/or exchange parts. I love the C8Z but it is a pipe dream for most people right now. I will never sell my C5 and C6Z. They are true and raw driver's cars and can be tuned with HP Tuners or EFI with a 6 hour course. The weak links on a C5 and C6 are the sway bar end links. The stock C5 output shafts and the stock 4L60E transmission can not handle stress very well. If you Track them get ready to replace wheel bearing hubs. ECBM's are expensive and getting harder to find. Many other parts have been discontinued.
