Why The Clone Wars is the BEST Star Wars I’ve Seen in YEARS (Yep, I Finally Watched It)

I still find it ironically depressing, watching Jesse in Umbara, and then watching Jesse in the seige of Mandalore. Rip Jesse.

I just realized that the end of the Umbara arc has so much more meaning to it. "I had to. He betrayed us" this is the mentality that the clones are later programed, for lack of a better term, to think when order 66 comes around

The Citadel arc is one of my favorites. Season 3 episodes 18-20. Great variety of characters and a taste of young Tarkin.

The music in the last episode was beyond amazing. I am so glad that this series existed.

Personally I think the best lightsaber duels where both including maul, 1 when he fights darth sidious with savage, 2 is when he fights ahsoka in season 7

The arc with fives/CT-5555 in season 6 is amazing! It really makes the last two episodes of season 7 make more sense and it will hurt you knowing what is coming.

Battlefront knight watching clone wars for the first time. "This is where the fun begins."

The scene where Fives died is one of the most emotional scenes ever to me. Fives was on an impossible mission to save the Jedi from order 66. And he actually told Anakin and Rex about what he found out, they just thought that he had lost his mind because of the so called 'virus'. Fives almost succeeded in preventing order 66 and Anakin goin to the Dark Side pretty much alone (with help of azi-3) and when he died it had incredible impact on me. Fives has one of the best story arcs of any character I've ever seen!

If you like Cad Bane, Hando the Pirate is going to be another one you like, he is one of my favorite characters in the whole series

i personally watched every episode in the disney+ order and loved it so much still, i would recommend to wait until u know all the characters first to watch the last few seasons bec it just makes it all so much better:)

The most unbearable part of the Jar-Jar being a Jedi episode is that he's actually a Sith Lord.

Yeah it took me a few years to give it a chance since I'm not big on cartoons, but my god I was hooked when I finally watched it. Arguably the best Star Wars content out there!

Clone wars is one of my favourite shows and Anakin is my fav character by far although i have too say now Ahsoka isnt far behind. The character development through this series and the arrogance/naievity of the jedi order. The whole thing makes Revenge of the sith so much better, far more impactful. You can understand the pain and loss that Anakin experienced much more. Used by the Jedi, manipulated for years by palpatine. The episode where Obi Wan dies and the emotion and pain that Anakin felt for his master. The whole time you're just thinking about what happens on Mustafar. Shattered, no better episode name for Order 66. Its how i felt the whole time. The last 4 episodes were some of the best star wars i have ever seen. It was beautiful.

The Fives Arc in season 6 is so amazing. The final two episodes of Season 7 make that arc even more impactful.

I’m so glad you’re gonna go back and watch the rest of the series, while I do appreciate people compiling the best parts into viewing guides, I think the “skipping half of the series” thing that comes with it is a real shame. It’s still all part of the show, it’s all part of Star Wars and all the different stories add something to the characters and populate the world and make it seem alive. I never understood skipping episodes - it’s fine when you’ve watched the whole thing and know what you liked and didn’t liked, but definitely not the first time around.

Ahsoka running from the clones in the Ahsoka Leaves arc was one of the greatest sequences in the SWU. It really showed how capable a jedi she had become before she left

I Was so angry when the council just threw Ashoka under the bus but loved how hard Anakin was trying to prove that Ashoka is no traitor and his words to her before she left were heartbreaking man.

I'm happy you watched it, and happy for you. It's a truly amazing series, and the single best piece of Star Wars media in my opinion. No other media I've seen or read has made me shed tears like this series, and nothing gives me goose bumps like this series so often does. Damn, just watching these clips, bearing the terrific voice acting and thinking about certain moments can give me goose bumps any time of day.

Watch 5's arc. It's honestly one of the best, and ties into season 7 and makes the line, "Find, find Fives, find him!" more meaningful.

The mortis arc is the best in my opinion. You really begin to see how powerful Anakin really is, with the son and daughter truly symbolizing his internal struggle between the light and the dark.

I also really liked it when Ahsoka teamed up with Ventress. I would have liked it if Ahsoka teamed up with Maul in season 7 when she releases him from his cell and then they fight the clones together.

The execute order 66 with Rex hit me HARD hard, because Rex is my favorite clone, and him mentioning Fives almost had me balling.

The fives arc is probably the deepest, saddest and most important arc in the whole series.

One of my favourite arcs is the Fives arc from the first 4 episodes of season 6. I personally find parts of it really emotional. Highly recommend it

Love to see more people get recruited to this masterpiece of animated tv. Season 6 is hugely underrated in my opinion, its first and last 4 episode arcs are probably both in my top 5 of the series

Season 1, Episode 5: Rookies Watch it ASAP

I was a Clone Wars kid I watched every episode when it first aired on Cartoon Network and got every season on dvd when it came out. And it was great rewatching it all with my Dad. Now we are watching the Bad Batch. He is enjoying all of it.

The final 4 episodes of The Clone Wars, is hands down, the BEST Star Wars content to come from Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm. Yes, it’s better than The Mandalorian.

Anakin and ahsoka's relationship over the clone wars is easily my favorite part of it. anakin is such a big brother and it puts a smile on my face. Also the episodes that people label "hard to get through" are fine. if not some of the funniest clone wars episodes. hope you enjoy this awesome series.

If you think the Jar Jar-Jedi episode was tough to get through, wait until you get to the Season 5: 4-part arc of Droids journeying through a desolate wasteland and having an existential crisis. And then think about those who watched it at the time it came out.

I watched it after finishing the Mandalorian out of a desire for more Star Wars without any expectations. This show is great. I was hooked from start to finish. As you've said, some of the best Star Wars content out there, some mini stories were super thrilling.

One of my favourite episodes is "Supply lines". Yes, half of it is Jar Jar being Jar Jar, but at least it has almost certain proof that he's a Sith Lord and everything on Ryloth is really cool. Ima Gun-Di and Captain Keeli are just the best.

Watch the Order 66 arc at the beginning of season 6 it leads perfectly into the final 4 episodes and Rookies in season 1

In my humble opinion, people should not watch the Clone Wars using viewing guides. Those guides ignore a huge amount of content, content that is needed to set the tone and pacing of the entire shows. They highlight the best episodes to watch but those episodes are made even better if you really do see everything. There will be episodes you don't like in the Clone Wars, but you need to decide what you like and what you don't like yourself. Some of the people who make the guides have biases and ignore fantastic episodes because they don't like a certain character or subjectively dislike a character it features. Like Jar Jar will have episodes but many of his episodes, in my opinion, are very very good. My recommendation to anyone who want to see the series is to watch it all the way through from the eye beginning, that is how you will get the most out of it. Just have an open mind and give everything a chance and if you do come across an episode that you watch and really don't like, feel free to skip it or the arc. Just make such you give everything a chance first before you choose to skip over it.

Ah yes, a fan who finally came to his senses.

One of the coolest things about Ahsoka is that early in her arc, when people called her bratty and rebellious, is that she was EXACTLY like Anakin when he was her age, which was probably why obi wan got such a kick out of the two of them. However, her personality goes completely the other way from Anakin. While Anakin almost always comes off as impulsive and unstable in his aura, Ahsoka develops an inherent thoughtfulness and vibe of serenity, and behaves pensively and carefully at times. She grows knowledgeable and exudes wisdom. She is still stubborn and loyal as she (and her master) always was, but she was such a poignant example of what could have been of Anakin.

Maul on mandalore is some of the best SW content ever

The fact that this show is so so much better than the sequel trilogy makes you wonder if adults actually wrote those movies.

You need to see the first few episodes of season 6 and then rewatch the order 66 stuff to really understand why Rex goes off about fives, and what all of the reports that Ahsoka saw were

Glad you finally can understand our pain and suffering that so many of these characters didnt get included in Battlefront 2. Ahsokas Arc (especially the last part) was also the best Star Wars Ive seen so far. They took the time to develop her and make people CARE. Watch this and learn from this, people out there. Cutting content making it "short" and "quick to consume and like" isnt always the right way. Also: The show was good for its villains being competent. I cant stress it enough: A good story needs firstly a good hero (we got plent in Clone Wars) and directly afterwards, a GOOD VILLAIN. And we had plenty of those as well.

Wherever i want to convince someone to give Clone wars a chance i send them the clip of when the son gives Anakin a glimpse into the future ending with Vader's breathing machine accompanied by a vision a Vader's helmet. The spinning around in the visions of everyone he'll hurt ending with him seeing his future appearance. That scene alone made Clone wars stand out. Another character that was interested that id like to see in live action is Hando. The relationship between Anakin, Obi Wan and Hando could be made into a super entertaining action comedy show very easily. You love to hate him and root for him often too even though he's a straight villain.

Finally you watched the clone wars. Now you can be one with the force🙏

Battlefront Knight: I finally started watching the Clone Wars! Viewers: YES Battlefront Knight: I also decided to watch it in a random order of arcs and episodes. Viewers: Oh... That's... Um... Nice...?

You would be surprised at this: George Lucas' favorite episodes are when a tiny-species general and a bunch of droids got stuck in a completely desert planet (like worse than tatooine). That one has its moments. But I would definetly recommend you watch the Nightsisters arc and from there carry on with the development of Asajj Ventress. When you get like her, read Dark Disciple and you'll get to love her. Also, as I see you're liking Darth Maul that much, definetly read Son of Dathomir, it's actually a non-animated Clone Wars arc that made it into a comic. If you're interested in politics, any chapter with Padme. There's actually good conspiracy stories out there. If you want to get to know Tarkin a bit, there's an arc with him an Anakin getting to know each other escaping from a prison. I mean, you name it, there's Star Wars for anyone in that series.

Haha awesome 👍 I thought the show would be; "too childish," (kid friendly,) for someone in my particular age group demographic, for the longest time, time I know I will never get back, especially knowing what I know now, and how absolutely wrong I was. If you've been procrastinating about watching The Clone Wars, do yourself a favor _please_ and stop! Especially if you're already a Star Wars fan. In this unique, once-in-a-century worldwide Pandemic lockdown situation we've all got going on, it's the perfect time to be binging through some of the best, easiest, "bite-sized," Star Wars content available. At like 22 minutes an episode, you'll find yourself flying through them like it's nothing, I promise. It's like reading a good book, once you've started you'll find it increasingly difficult to stop watching. There's really no excuse lol and once you're done there's Rebels, (of course,) which is even easier to consume, at only four _epic_ seasons. They're arguably just as necessary as the films and new live-action Disney+ series, and offer some of the best storytelling in Star Wars, while managing to include something for virtually every age group in your family, as well. (Which means buddiyng up with one or more of your kids, or parents, is certain to improve the experience. And probably even your relationships. My 11 year old daughter and 7 year old son and I bonded immensely binging through the Clone Wars together. We're closer than ever. It's great.) Anyway, just q little public service suggestion. ✌

I've studied the official Lucasfilm Chronology timeline for the Clone wars series. While mostly solid; they have messed up a with few episodes.Allow me to elaborate: S3.04 Sphere of Influence: Ahsoka tries a Jedi Mind Trick for the first time, & in the two parter, S3.05 Corruption & S3.06 The Academy; Ahsoka uses a Mind Trick more confidently, yet they put Sphere of influence *after* this two parter in their flawed timeline. (did anyone else notice this?) The Rush Clovis Trilogy episodes were originally supposed to come directly *after* the Series *5* Onderon Arc, but were pushed back to series *6* (S6.05, S6.06 & S6.07) the only issue I have with this arc being moved to S6 is Yoda & Palpatine/Darth Sidious's older *pre-S5 Revival episode* character models were used in this trilogy, and it looks a bit jarring directly after watching the Order 66 Conspiracy arc where their newer *S5* Models were used. (not to mention That Palpatine's voice Actor: Ian Abercrombie sadly died before he could finish his lines for the S5 Darth Maul arc & Tim Curry took over from then to the show's original premature end.) In my opinion: it's just harder to watch a S6 arc that was meant for S5. (Does anyone else get this feeling too?)
