It's not like fortnite ripped off a few other games. Also Treyarch helped make overwatch so it's kind of logical blizzard helps treyarch make bo4. So by that logic you can say Destiny ripped off Halo

Team Fortress 2 just sitting over there looking at Overwatch. OW has to be one of the least original games ive ever played. Even the characters are bland walking tropes. People need to stop pretending everything NEEDS to be super orginal to be fun. The flip side is not every game needs to be cloned off OW, Fortnite and R6 nor should it be, those games are already popular and fill niches. Small squad based games bore the shit out of me, especially with classes being locked 1 per. I guess Battlefield is the only hope for a proper mainstream wargame.

Rusty Lionrek Black Ops essentially means undocumented military campaigns, without a campaign mode it makes no sense to even call this game Black Ops, it should just be "Call of Duty" with whatever subtitle they want to add. They're obviously just using the Black Ops name to bait people in, kinda like Metal Gear Survive.

When you have a campaign it leads to the multiplayer having to be a certain way. In the past multiplayer maps were copy and pasted from the campaign. I personally am glad they don’t have a campaign because I haven’t cared about the campaign since ghosts. I have plenty of single player games I can play, I personally play cod for the multiplayer aspect so I’m completely fine with having battle royale, zombies, and more multiplayer maps than usual instead of a campaign, but hey that’s just my opinion.

Lethal God You're technically not getting more MP maps though. It only has 11 MP maps noted so far with 5 being throwback maps. There's a rumor that it's going to have 17 MP maps on launch, but that counts those 5. So 12 new maps and 5 remakes is decent right? Wrong; Ignoring the remakes, they removed campaign yet they're launching with only 12 new maps, which is the same as BO3 and IW. However, this is the second lowest number, only bested by WW2's 9. (Which was a partially a result of the War maps.) It gets even worse when you consider every game with a two year Dev time has more, and then also AW. So them only being about to slap together 12 new maps and 5 remakes in three years while also removing campaign is ludicrous. Then there's also the black ops pass, which you're only getting 12 maps for instead of the normal 16. So now you're getting ripped off. The only people who are winning in this scenario is those who play zombie, since you're getting 3 base maps, with a fourth locked behind the season pass paywall. Even then two of the maps happen to be remakes, and then you consider that BO1 had two maps on disk at launch despite a two year Dev time. Sure the maps now are more expansive, detailed, and elaborate but three years and a scrapped campaign net two remakes? Surely they could've done better than that. But hey, at least they're remakes and not remastered, so they supposedly have new areas. The zombies is honestly the only reason I'm considering buying it. But I don't deem $60 for a COD I'll only play one of the three modes. Here's the numbers for base MP maps just so you know I'm not lying; MW1-2-3; 16 BO1&2, Ghosts; 14 WAW, AW; 13 BO3, IW; 12 WW2; 9 (Not counting War)

Why doesnt Treyarch make a brand-new engine for COD? We are in late 2018 and Treyarch is still using the same old engine for like the past 10 years I think it's 1 of the reasons why COD has been looking the exact same for a while.

vincent waipouri art assets can look very different on the same engine and the same on different engines. Take Mechwarrior Online and Battletech by Harebrained Schemes, they used the same art for the mechs in both games.

More tactical combat works a hell of a lot better in a COD environment than it does with Destiny's space magic setting. Bungie's PVP team is completely clueless and somehow still headed by Derek "Mantis" Carroll. In most industries, if you horribly fail at your job for 3 years running while mocking fans who are critical of you, you'd be fired. I believe he's received multiple promotions though.

I don't own Overwatch but I know the type of game it is from playing Paladins and TF2 and League of Legends. You need to know the meta, your team needs to counter the enemies set up and you need to git gud all at the same time. So a game reviewer going 0-20 in Overwatch isn't as big a deal as people make it out to be.

Sawyer i played the chaos modes in the bo4 beta and I can tell you that when you play that game mode it still plays like a casual 6v6 shooter, when you play domination or control that's when serious team play comes in to kick your ass

Agreed. I actually think the campaign for Infinite Warfare is some of the best military sci-fi content ever made in gaming. If it was presented as a new IP instead of COD, it would have been critically acclaimed.

As if I wouldn't have played that masterpiece yet! Did it once on PS4 at launch, again after building my PC, then again after upgrading to 1440p/144hz. Absolutely love Titanfall 2. That being said, I think Infinite Warfare's campaign actually stands up extremely well and does certain "sci fi" aspects better than Titanfall 2. The nearly seamless ground to space to ground combat is really awesome stuff that you can't really get anywhere else.

There was a study done and I believe like 60% of players don’t even start up the campaign at all. It sucks for the people who like it but for me I’d much rather have another multiplayer mode like battle royale and more multiplayer and zombie maps at launch. I’m not even a big Fortnite fan but I don’t have any issues with battle royale, I’ve played a decent amount of H1 and PUBG in the past.

They should have spent more time making the campaigns longer and better not f#cking scrapping it. F#ck Activision. I will boycott and play WW2 for another year.

Boss74 it is actually new though. All of the mhor games this year are doing free except Activision. Battlefield, division 2, anthem, fallout 76, and others are all going free dlc policy. Cod will still be playable throughout the year but in 4 months or so the playerbase I suspect will drop by half easily. The fact that you can't purchase individual dlc and it has to go through preorder only as of right now is a serious anti consumer problem. I hope they change it but I doubt it. Activision is treating cod like a cash cow. They're going to milk it dry and let it die. It may take a while because the casual audience who is rent real gamers like those who bought ass loads of shark cards in ga online sink tons of money into casual games until there's nothing left. Itll happen at this rate. Just not sure how long till that happens.

I played some BO3 the other day and every single game I had at least one teammate who couldn’t even get 5 kills throughout the entire game.

Lethal God absolutely agree with that. But being bad at CoD does not deter these players from playing the game. Lower skill bar makes it worth the grind for them. That's the thing, you can be super sweaty or a total noob and still enjoy CoD. IMHO of course.

Ive seen people go 0 20 and 1 30, i think there is a skill gap with aiming and the tactics it takes to spawn trap effectively and work together to combine specalist effectively to make powerful combinations that devastate enemies.

I guarantee that is exactly what will happen. They will more than make their budget and marketing budget back and then some but still call it a failure and cut off support for the game after the season pass DLCs are out (sometimes they even do it before they're out like EA did with Battlefront 2).
