Oh fallout 76 has the disconnect bug that randomly disconnects you from the game, so if you have spent the last 15-30 minutes playing, you lose all that progress and have to do it all over again. So yes 76 has a similar bug not as bad but still makes you lose everything. Oh and did I mention it can happen twice in a row making you lose even more progress lol.

I fail to see how people who are new to fallout can ever get into the story of Fallout 76, when compared to previous games. If you have no connection to the faction why would you even care to investigate them. I gave this game a low score for bad design decisions in my review. But from the bugs you guys had i think this score is justified and the only reason other media outlets are not scoring lower is because of video game the politics that exists in the industry. I liked your no BS approach to the review tho, speaking as a massive fan of Bethesda.

To be honest I don't really see how hardcore fallout fans can get enjoyment out of 76's story either. Like I dont get how starved you would have to be for lore to enjoy the tidbits in 76, between the lack of characters to care about and the retcons.

Most big media outlets always give a higher score worthy of the game. What I've noticed from IGN is that anything below a 6 is awful, and anything above a 7 is pretty good. I personally don't understand how they get a 5/10- besides trying to be on Bethesda's good side. The map is pretty varied, and their are some OST's that are pretty good, but that's it! There isn't any real interaction with online players besides shooting at each other or at other things. The holotapes tells us interesting stories that we can't witness besides some dead bodies. At MOST (without bugs) this game can be a 3/10. This is the problem with, "LiVe SeRvIcEs", we get broken, barren games that will be better in 2-4 years from now...

I don't think that's true to be honest. Gamers are very aware that management, publishers and shareholders make the calls and decide what resources are being spend and when a game is ready to be released. What kind of bussiness model etc. If they need a new engine etc. I think gamers only feel empathy for devs because they realize that they're gamers just like them. And have to suffer from the same bad decision making. For them it is even worse because they have to crunch and impacts their entire life. Publishers and shareholders are the ones never taking responsibility and putting forward devs as a human shield.

Now one of them is struggling with some horrible gamebreaking bugs and his experience has been ruined. And he's not the only one, there are so many people with these issues, yet Bethesda remains dead silent. I certainly don't regret buying this game and will continue to play, but I won't be supporting Bugthesda's future products. I agree with you that many people trying so desperately to defend this game is most likely because they spent $60 on this travesty, but not all of them. Some just think the really low scores like 0/10 are kinda unwarranted, like myself. But i really don't mind as long as it lights a fire under Bugthesda's ass. The people saying everything is fine need to shut the fuck up though and stop defending this clusterfuck.

^^^^ This, Skyrim was a fucking bugfest when it came out (not as much as this garbage but still unplayable for me), with half finished mechanics and had the feeling that the developers are either useless or just plain lazy, fast forward a few months or years, and there are TENS OF THOUSANDS mods that make the game beyond epic graphically and gameplay wise. FO 4 same shit, ES6 will probably be the same shit again, but at least it will be single player and on that crap of an engine, so modders will fix that shit given some time and it will become good.

If Bethesda was smart, they'd track down the best modders, coders and bugfixers from the community and offer them a high paying QA job within their ranks so as to push out more complete products at launch so as to make more money overall on the back end. But that would take work. Not as much work as building a new engine but therein lies the point. Being greedy is one thing, lazy another. Put them together and you get Bethesda and how they're operating, which is not sustainable for long.

Alot of people are saying this game is getting shit on just to get clicks and views. But this needs to happen. Bethesda has set the bar lower and lower throughout the years and everyone's been emptying their wallets for sub standard games. Just like Battlefront 2, No Mans Sky and Sea of Thieves we need to not let this slide. Dont let them make this okay people. If Rockstar and CD project can sell Witcher 3 and RDR2 for $60, then there's no excuse from other companies charging the same price.

The real kicker is that Bethesda KNEW this game was going to be a steaming pile of shit from the beginning. That's why they refused to offer it on Steam: because Steam offers refunds. Having 90% of their sales charged back in the first two hours of launch would literally be the last nail in the coffin for them. Instead they sit comfortable with the knowledge that, while they may have ruined the brand forever, at least they got the initial sales.

The combat in Bethesda games have always been shit, especially in the Fallout games. How ignorant can Bethesda be to think that stripping away everything that's good from Fallout (dialogue, characters, interesting quests, etc) and focusing on the weakest aspect (the combat) was a good idea? Honestly, without major tweaks, I don't even think the Creation engine is capable of decent FPS combat, and the terrible, inconsistent performance just makes it worse.

If they fix the bugs I think it's worth a 3/10 because at least it functions as a game. You know, you can walk around, shoot stuff, loot stuff and build stuff. That's good enough to be better than 0/10 on my scale. Also, the "fun with friends" would only be an argument for the game if a bunch of friends is included in the 60$ starter price. But since most publishers don't sell friends with their products, it can't be part of the rating.

When Ubisoft first released assassins creed unity, The game was so bad at launch they had to give a free game to those who ordered the season pass in exchange for giving up their legal rights and not suing Ubisoft. Releasing Unity in that state was inexcusable. I won't deny that. But I will give it some credit. It had a story with an end game. Graphically, the world of Unity was beautiful. France was populated and seemed vibrant with life. The game even gave you a companion (Elise). With all of Unity's faults at least this game had a soul. That is more then I can say for Fallout 76.

Oh, and to answer your question yes Bethesda should follow Ubisoft's lead when it comes to Unity. The fact Ubisoft released that title for $60.00 in the state that it was in was inexcusable. The same can be said about Bethesda and Fallout 76. Bethesda should find a way to make it up to the people they ripped off or face legal action.

Exactly. I watched a video from a guy who supposedly worked in the industry, supposedly worked with Pop Cap on Plants Vs Zombies. He was trying to excuse that Bethesda didnt know if they had the infastructure or systems to do a Multiplayer so 76 is a test/trying somthing new. Well here is the key thing, YOU DONT TEST OR TRY NEW THINGS ON THE CUSTOMERS MONEY AND TIME. If your going to test something new you do it internally with simulations and such. Set up the network and have a group of computers ghosting accounts and log in 100s of thousands of pseudo accounts to see if your system can handle it. You DO NOT put it out to the public as a way to test things. Considering that joker supposedly worked in gaming tells me all I need to know. Only a complete asshat douche that cares nothing about customers or putting out a decent product would EVER suggest you are basically using your customers and a full game launch as a test bed.

But yeah, New Vegas had a lot of problems, some of them stemming from only having 18 months to develop the game (Caesar's Legion being the most infamous example of the handicap the time budget dealt to them), others just off concept or from it not going anywhere. Such is life, I suppose.

I FOUND WHY THERE IS NO NPCS AND THIS IS NOT MEME! Its not because "oh players are humans in this world" its because engine is same and they didnt figure out how to manage npcs managing multiple people at the same time... because in creative engine games npcs usually focus on YOU (they can still continue what they doing but they look at you and only talk to you) means that if someone tried to talk npc while it was busy talking someone else a)He has to wait other person to complate talking it b)He will cut other parson from middle of discussion THIS IS WHY THERE IS NO NPCS I TELLING YOU in mmorpgs CLONES of npcs appear to talk with you at quests that they follow you etc... in normal zones they just stand there and do nothing just a text appears... for fallout game this was not possible so they just cutted them out

Unlikely. There are plenty of robots to interact with in game, and there's no reason they would be any different than an npc shaped like a human. They probably did it so they didn't have to pay a huge fee to a bunch of different voice actors for NPCs.

Mmm.. no, thats not how it works. When you see an NPC on an mmo, you see players just standing in front of NPCs, you dont really see (or need to see) the player or npc interacting. You just see them there, standing. The game on your end doesnt send the data to your pc/console indicating that another player is having a conversation, you dont receive the instructions that would tell your game-client to make the npcs move or talk. The player talking to the npc is the one that receives the "flag" that indicates he is talking to an npc. So, an NPC really just delivers data when requested, and only to those who requested it. Only those who interact with that menu or option (the npc) receive the requested data. An npc, if you look at it as a function to deliver data (thats what it is), can deliver data to multiple clients at the same time, there are no "clones". Imagine if a new model had to be constructed everytime a person talked to an npc that is already delivering data. Just unthinkable in terms of programming. But again, only those who interacted with that option (npc) see the animations and receive the data. NPCs deliver date to multiple clients at once. Like a server delivering data to computers in a network. So no...NPCs that can only interact with one person is not the cause. I dont know the real cause, but i really doubt it is the one you point out.
