Yes the Astros have pitching issues & we'll dig into that, but there are also issues with the bats! We'll dig into everything that is killing the Astros to start the season. #mlb #baseball #astros
Lol Jose Altuve is legit one of the most clutch hitters of ALL TIME. He's hitting nearly .400 and slugging nearly .700 and you're labeling him a "rally killer" based on 13 AB's? The Astros have issues to address, but he damn sure ain't one of em.
Espada is Dusty 2.0 his lineup is so bad. He has players hitting where they should not be hitting and playing Abreu and Singleton is just ridiculous. This is the winning lineup Altuve Bregman Yordan Diaz Tucker McCormick Peña Caratini (First Base) Meyers / Dubon
How we’re only 4.5 games back from the first place Rangers is a miracle. Still over a hundred games left so im not worried just yet but this pitching has been the worst I’ve ever seen
Altuve is topping every single category on the league… which means that even if he isn’t bringing home runs he is getting on base so the bug part of the lineup brings him home… which is the task of the first batter… the fact that you m are blaming altuve is beyond me😂😂😂
20 games is a small sample size. They have not been playing well, I get it, but they've only played about 12% of the season. Still a lot of baseball to play. Bandwagon fans will freak out and online trolls and haters will savor this slump, but I think things will be very different by the All Star break...
You have your hand on the entire league, that’s what makes your rankings credible. My Astros do stink right now but they will turn it around. Great baseball platform
Astros MUST get a new 1st baseman. both of the current 1st baseman are absolutely awful. get rid of Abreu and a lot of offensive problems could go away. i think getting the clutch hits from others will improve outside of him. Abreu is that guy every team can circle as a rally killer a guarantee out. as for pitching i have no answers about the bullpen. games should be lock down after 6 but it simply isn't. injuries simply are the problem with the starters. cant expect young guys just brought up from the minors to become aces. it's insane to see the Astros have a top 5 rotation all on the injured list
They’re paying Abreu close to $20 million per season, it’s not that easy to just eat that salary when you still have to pay him next year too. His contract is guaranteed, so still have to pay him even if you release him.
My question is and my opinion is if your paying hader 95 million dollars over 5 years.I don't understand why he did not go out there for the tenth inning when you had a day off the next day
The Astros have not faced a weak team yet. All their opponents so far have been leading the division or, in the case of the Royals, a game and half behind the leader. Its cause for concern going forward but its not as bad as it looks. In the case of Abreu, at least he's not locked up under contract for very long.
Verlander’s arm is important, but he also brings a much needed leadership role to the clubhouse. With Verlander coming back I’m sure we’ll see things begin to clean up and click a little bit more. I could just be a delusional fan that’s aggravated with the way the season has been going so far though 😅
The astros clearly miss Dusty Baker, he put in the work and energy to make this team a true team. His retirement definitely has had a significant impact. I’m sorry, but I don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel yet. This group is in need of some serious restructuring and leadership to keep the egos at bay. What I see in the astros right now is a bunch of individuals who all think they can win all by themselves. That simply isn’t how baseball is played. Cheerio
On the bright side, if the Astros make another ALCS this year, no one can say they didn't have to struggle through adversity to get there, this season is no cake walk. On the bad side, our pitching very well could stay horrible, JV is old, Framber's injury is suspect as hell, LMJ is forever injured and the other guy's are only 3rd-5th starters.
What if France and Brown both sent to the bullpen to close for a few games each so they can concentrate on their precision and the importance of retiring each and every batter. And in each of these games substitute a closer to start to give them a perspective of the long game and a chance to face more batters over a longer period. The worst we could do is lose 4 more games and the best would be they improve their perspective and precision. And we may even find that a starter is a better closer and a closer amongst the closers that’s a better starter. Stranger things have happened in baseball.
If you honestly look at most of the Astros losses you have to put it on their very bad bullpen. Before the season started i said that the loss of Hector Neris, Ryan Stanek and Phil Maton would be the biggest problem with the Astros. Other teams knew how good they were and snatched them up. And no Josh Hader didn't cover those losses. Jim Crane has been a pretty bad GM should of just been happy being an owner.
Probably going to lose a few more games then most thought at the start of the season. but they will probably still finish in 1st. The middle of may and late may is when I would start to worry.
@@AnthonyMartinezmartinez2 at least the Yankees aren’t 6-14 and we sept u guys to begin the year and how is Jose abreu doing and hader and Valdez and brown,France,Martinez and bregman how are they all doing 😂😂😂😂😂😂 the Yankees are just better sorry if that sounded to much 😂
Framer out,Jose abreu out,Singleton out, Meyer out,Diaz not what we thought, trade McCormick, altuve is just taking it easy after his new contract he don't care any more being called a little person anymore,it's time to bring in young rookies like the way this Astros did 7 years ago stop paying big cash like to abreu, hader,+++++++jav is my name, laters
@@Mr.DerekReese lol haven’t seen that one. No doubt it’s better than what the Stros are doing on the field right now. I’ll give Joe E some time to figure things out 😆
Oh,almost forgot jeff bagwell is a big mistake for this astros team really bad decisions no experience just because he was a so so good player doesn't means he's got to be whixh ever his role is with our good team,Astros, jav,,,,laters
It's still to early but I'd say there pitching is gonna be there biggest issue. I think this most recent series is more about the Braves & how resilient they are.
Can they be saved? Maybe. I hope not. Verlanderis good, but he is aging. can he be the spark? Possibly. I’m not holding my breath though. Bats gotta step up more than anything, bullpen too.
Im Soooooo SICK OF FANS &/R MEDIA. SAYING ITS STILL EARLY CRAP.. ITS FINALLY CAUGHT UP WITH THEM . STARTING SLOW B4 FANS POINT OUT. BUT EVENTUALLY LAW OF AVERAGES. THIS TEAM SUCKS WORSE & ; WILL NOT ONLY MISS PLAYOFFS BUT WILL FINISH WITH A LOSING RECORD.. EVERYONE BEING OPTIMISTIC & REALISTIC IS 2 DIFFERENT THINGS. IT ALL ADDS UP 2 BEING IN DENIAL. THIS GAS-STROS TEAM STINKS WORSE THAN MY EX GIRLFRIENDS FARTS .
@@michaelmacorso4479 7 straight ALCS. No reason to cry. Like I said before it's only April and The Astros are only 4 1/2 games back. You will be crying again before the All Star break, I guarantee it.🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼
I have citations to prove it lol I have a short video on it during the time Phillies played against him in the WS lol I said " dude no way will this guy continue this type of success acting like hes the next Pete Rose and shit hahahaha
they won the WS in 2022 5 years after the 'scandal'. Made it to the LCS in 2023.. (won 90 games). They just NEED a change at 1st base and not be fielding a AAA pitching staff.
@@edwardjam9832 You'd have to hate pretty much any team in the league.. the red sox got busted for the exact same thing in 2018. Beltran brought the method over to Houston from New York in 2017.. fucking every team had PED users in the 90s/early 2000s.. get down off of your high horse lol
