As someone who used to love watching MCU movies, I've started to kinda hate what they've done to the industry. The first few movies were generally made with a lot of heart and were in uncharted territory. They took risks that paid off, but now all the movies are following the same formula without any passion and it's just the same superhero movies becoming oversaturated. Not to mention a lot of the movies are just not that well written. Most of the fans ideas and works are way better than the actual movies.

To me, as a lifelong comics fan, it’s pointless to try to read everything in the history of a certain comics universe or even just a character, simply because there is simply too much nonsense to wade through that just isn’t important in the long run. If you are interested in a certain character, you don’t need to start at the beginning. You should just pick out what looks interesting to you. If you have this attitude that you need to read everything, you going to start at the beginning and be burnt out before you ever get to the good stuff. For example, the first 12-13 years of X-Men comics are pretty hard to get through. There is some ok stuff mixed in with the garbage and unfortunately most of the biggest characters were introduced during that time, but if you start at some later era, a lot of the important parts of these issues are presented as flashbacks within these more recent runs. It’s the same deal with Batman and Superman. Try reading those old golden age stories now. Reading one or two as a lark or novelty, sure, but hundreds of them? Talk about torture. So where do you go to find the good stuff? In general, I recommend reading a character by a certain writer or artist or writer/artist team. Doing a little research online can tell you what are the acclaimed runs for for a certain character or set of characters. There are certain creators that are almost synonymous with the characters they worked on. I’d also recommend going through the nominations for each years Eisner, Harvey or Ignatz awards, depending on what speaks to you, but those are generally very good places to get acquainted with critically revered works within comics. Also, if you find a certain comic book website that you like, they often release best of the year lists and videos at the end of the year.

as an non-American Marvel fan, I think one thing to note that made MCU so successful is because the movies (and series) are basically our main source of content because the comics (at least in my country) are crazy expensive and so hard to find, even the translated version (I don't think they even do those). So we can't really compare if the comics are better or the movies are better because we don't get the privilege to enjoy the original comics. I myself have to resort to digital copies but even those cost dollars which are still expensive. I guess the movie makers not only saw the success it has in America but in a more larger scale from international success and they don't want to risk losing these international money by making new and or experimental superhero movies, because a lot of International fans are basic movie fans not the comic reader fans

It is what I'm being saying from 2015, it not that big of a deal. I mean, yes, it is good to have it and there are a bunch of examples out there of what great and flawless representation, inclusion and everything current US media tries to sell as relevant, but lately, stories are being just made to check a box with all the groups that are consider minority (outside of majority of population) within US, and while that is important to bring diversity and not just x or white, making everything about it is just a terrible idea as not doing it because stories only focuse in bring to the screen this, so a colective group can feel "represented" despite the story and many other elements that makes movies and series great get lost into oblivion, and that is exacly what have made Marvel and film industry in general so terrible today, at least in terms of storytelling. And "I'm part of some minority groups" and me and many others (specially outside of the US where I'm coming from) dont care or never seen the big deal with being "represented" by what a handful of people consider how I should feel represented. Back in the mid 90s and early 2000s, I was inspired and attracted by heroes like Batman, The Flash, John Stewart and Spidey to say some names, but because of their stories, their journies, their backgrounds and their powers...not because they look like me...if we go like that...I'm far from looking like any of them... Totally pointless and if Hollywood and California in general thinks that we have to feel good by their concept of values, is up to us to decide what define us as people and not expect points of validation from people that don't care about us. And if anyone more interest about getting approve by some big corporation by they showing a stereotipical version of anyone that happens to be the same as a group of people or having an story where the sexual orintation is almost as important as the story itself...enjoy that then while I'm go back in time where things where not that divided and politically correct in the US, a country that I used to love as much as my own but now is notwhere near the shadow of what knew 20 years ago.

I’ve never understood the Maximoff race controversy. The characters in the comics - or at least every image I’ve ever seen of them - look white. Magneto, who may or may not be their father, is also drawn like a white person. The movie actors look like they’re the same race as the comic characters. If there’s white-washing going on, that’s the fault of the comics, not the MCU. Supposing the comic characters are just white-passing Romani, why does everyone assume the movie versions aren’t the same?
@orionhan2431
@orionhan2431 2 года назад
because the fact that Magneto was a holocast survivor is a huge part of his character. Basically he formed the Brotherhood because he decided that he rather be on the side committing genocide than the receiving end. the wanda and petro is controversial because the real reason it was done was because DISNEY DIDNT OWN THE MOVIE RIGHTS TO MAGNETO/ the xmen. it was petty and shows if Disney cant profit, they would burn the characters. Up until Disney got the rights from Fox; Magneto, the xmen, the Skrulls, etc were wiped out of the MCU. That's why wanda and petro is just white

I was going to be a bit concerned when you brought up the diversity portion of the video because not only is that topic usually kind of a loaded topic in Marvel discussions in general and can get overly volatile, but that Marvel's recent comic MO belittling and gaslighting many of it's fans by itself engaging in these topics has been something that's hard to hear an honest conversation about for what feels like ages. But nah, you hit it where it hurts and I'm glad you did. It's rough because I feel like people are going to excuse the MCU's lack of diversity as "Well they're *working* on it" when, just like the comics, they're very proud of themselves doing so at their own leisure and at the expense of the people they're speaking for. (Jee, that's so fun haha no it isn't.) Like, yeah it sucks that Carol Danvers is just *CAPTAIN MARVEL FOREVER AND EVER 100 MOVIES CAPTAIN MARVEL* when she's always been one of the least popular versions of the character. It sucks that Peter gets to suck on a silver spoon and enjoy all the pizazz and mystique of Super-Hero Life that the original Spider-Man was always kind of shove out of. (I'm serious, go back and read the original Spider-Man comics, the world of superheroes was NOT welcoming to him and he was alone for a VERY long time.) Or how instead of using the opportunity to reinvent the wheel on Mandarian as a mystical and power villain by removing his stereotypes and engaging with the incredible powers he brings to the table as a villain, let's subvert expectations and make him a phony villain stereotype in-universe haha fuuuuuun. But imo I do think they're doing this for a very specific reason. They lost Tony Stark. Robert Downey Jr.'s performance as Iron Man has almost singlehandedly defined the other characters in the MCU by either making characters analogous to him and his story or by removing them from the types of stories he would be a part of. The MCU as it stands lost it's biggest centralizing character that they could create webs of traits from so I feel like part of this attempt to constantly capture the audience with snarky and deeply scarred characters that are quirky and relatable because everyone can project themselves on to them is just an excuse to find the next Tony Stark. The next overcentralizing character that they can proceed to stamp with sticky notes and tie every other character into so that they're not shooting blanks in the dark like they have been with their recent productions. The way I feel about She-Hulk and it's recent trailer is what I think is the perfect exemplification of this; She-Hulk barely resembles the character she started out as and audiences fell in love with back when she was introduced in the comics, but hey, she makes smarmy meta jokes and has snide comments about her peers just like Tony Stark did lol so cute and marketable amirite? Eh. MCU is really not doing it for me anymore. Call me again in 10 years. Great video.

I think the MCU Spider-Man trilogy is a good example of how to do the origin story, as Peter Parker learns to become a better hero over the course of THREE movies, facing various ups and downs along the way! This way, we get a better idea of the events that shaped him into the hero he is now, instead of everything happening in one story!
@ExeErdna
@ExeErdna 2 года назад
That's because they took what they tried to do with Miles Morales and adapted that to a younger Peter Parker. Basically the MCU Spider-Man is a sneaky white wash. It worked because they gave it TIME to work yet this Spidey wouldn't have worked with a colleged aged Parker like we're used to.
@jessecortez9449
@jessecortez9449 2 года назад
An entire trilogy as an origin story is money grabbing garbage. The MCU, and Disney as the influencer over the MCU, have used the character of Spider-Man just for box office tickets, not because they care about having Marvel characters together in their movies. An origin story can and should be contained into one movie. The Raimi trilogy has the excellent example of an origin wrapped up in his first movie. And when the studio started to interfere with his plans is when things dipped. His third movie had Sandman killing Uncle Ben when there was no indication of him being involved in that event at all in the first film. It caused Peter's origin to be extended beyond his first film throwing off the flow of his arc. The MCU stretching out Peter's origin across a trilogy as well as his supporting roles in three other major event movies is just formulaic, assembly line production for ticket sales and merchandise. He spends almost that entire time essentially trying to be Iron-Lad much more tha he tries to be Spider-Man because the MCU and Disney have to have him coattail on RDJ since he was their cash cow for so long. An origin shouldn't include a first appearance in a major crossover event (Civl War), it shouldn't have him travel into space to fight the most powerful universe ending villain (Infinity War), get snapped out of existence and then fight that villain again (End Game). What kind of origin story has half the universe wiped out, including said hero? That's not an origin story, that is a completed character arc that is being intentionally snapped back to square one because the MCU and Disney want to keep that assembly line pumping out quantity instead of crafting quality.
@aliminator1310
@aliminator1310 2 года назад
@@jessecortez9449 I understand, but disagree at the same time. 1. Civil War glossed over the spider bite because Spider-Man's origin story had been retold TWICE at that point. (4 times if you count the cartoons!) 2. Stretching out Peter's origin and general presence across both a trilogy and supporting roles in bigger movies reminds you that he's part of a larger UNIVERSE as opposed to him being the ONLY superhero, like he was in the past. 3. Not only that, but notice how Iron Man's appearances after EACH crossover movie have him dealing with how said movie psychologically affected him. EVEN "Homecoming" to some extent, with how he wants Peter "to be better" than him. 4. Peter looking up to other heroes, especially Iron Man, reminds you that he is still a child who doesn't have full confidence in his abilities, which is what "Homecoming" touches on almost immediately. 5. As a result, by the time we get to "Far From Home", we have a good idea of what's going through his head, and WHY he can't live up to Tony. In the end, he becomes his OWN hero, after learning what Tony was like, and learning that he SHOULDN'T see himself as Iron Man's successor, but as SPIDER-MAN! 6. The origin aspect of the trilogy is NOT about how Spider-Man got his powers, but how Peter becomes a more mature and responsible person, which is reflected in how he handles his duties as Spider-Man.

Really great and in depth analysis of the MCUs failings, plus critiques on Superhero comics as a whole. Usually we only get people who look at things from one perspective. Your video covered both perspectives in an intellectual and concise way. Insta-sub

Bravo! Wonderful! You’re clearly either a fan or at the very least have done your homework on the (once great)source material. I was loving the (rightfully justified) snark sprinkled throughout it. Yes, I too, have quadruple facepalmed over the many soft reboots in the books over the last decade or so. All the damn reboots & the the fact that the tail is now wagging the dog with the films & series informing the publishing arm has made me abandon the books for good. Colour me impressed that you’ve hit all areas of both the comics the MCU all in one clip. Keep up the good work, and Thank You. 👏👏👏🥃🍻

@josephbeckett2330 2 года назад
It isn't that they are soft reboots as much as Marsney keeps trying to push these characters, (and sometimes storylines) that people do not buy. It is largly the woke material or gender/race swaps. So the first few issues sell ok, (not great, or even comparitively well), but then sell drop off between issues 5-10. So they started essentially restarting the comic numbering while continuing on the story. People would buy issue #1, and might continue a bit passed, but again sails would drop off, and because they really wanted to push those characters, they would make Cpt Marvel #7 become Cpt Marvel #1 instead. If I recall, Cpt Marvel, female Thor, female Ironman were specifically mentioned.
@bulgom182
@bulgom182 2 года назад
@@josephbeckett2330 Yeah, I know how that spiel of Marvel’s worked. I’m disgusted that Amazing Spider-Man was restarted at #1 3-4 times within three odd years or so purely for sales. Honestly, I think Marvel as a publishing entity began its downward trajectory in 2007 when Quesada thought he got away with undoing Spider-Man’s marriage. From there on, all bets were off on what kind of shit they schlepped out to readers. He also threw out his “Dead means dead” & “Marvel are proud we have never, nor ever will, reboot our continuity”, both of which he held press conferences for. They also went back to stunts which almost killed them in the nineties: pushing variant covers, giving writers strict story mandates & killing & restarting titles. Long before they started being woke, Marvel were(Hickman & Aaron’s work aside) & still are Creatively Bankrupt.

I do agree, not all of it. Honestly i don't care about the representation stuff. All I care about is character being character not about their skin, or race, or cex. We are all the same with different opinions. If there is a cast that is mostly middle eastern, or Asian. I enjoy for what it is, not the other way around. Same with marvel, its a old company like of course its mostly white men and women as super heroes. Do I care about that, I only care about their purpose into the story and what they can offer as a character. We can all be inspire for who they are, NOT what they are or where they come from. Even tho its nice points for characters to represent their home countries, are not always the protagonists. That isn't a bad thing, but people can make it out to be a problem. which is unnecessary because do you really expect Hollywood to care about people's feelings? They only care for what is trending and what gives them money. Independent creators are the ones should be payed attention to if gives you what you wanted. (Or writers that offer what your looking for to look up to) So yes, I do appreciate representation i know its important, but it isn't to be glorify, but respect and see its relevance to show off how they can be important individual like any other person. Besides that, the video is well done.

Marvel's self-mockery, joyful (and bland) tone got old years ago. But Marvel has always presented a lighter tone than DC in comics, animation, live-action television, and cinema. The irony is that while Disney ensures that the MCU is presented with full appreciation of the children in the audience, grown adults who love the MCU also continue to argue that comic books are for adults too. It's like they refuse to see how they are constantly insulted. And now, Phase Four merely provides that routine content with full expectation that the MCU-jaded will keep consuming. In the meantime, DC fans are watching Nolanverse, Snyderverse, Gunn's Suicide Squad, Joker, and The Batman. Sure, DC is hit or miss, but the fans aren't generally treated like children either.

Fun video!! I partially disagree with some points, but we can all agree that the insane scale of this feels like it should open up itself to wild stories of all kinds, I understand why a Multi-Million Dollar formula is something that you wouldn't want to break, and to expect Disney Execs to agree to risk losing even a cent would be too much to ask. However, and this is coming from someone who has been following the MCU since it started, at this point, I do want to receive more variety... I believe it was Browntable who said this through how repetitive MCU costumes are, but his main point was that as a whole, the MCU feels like the same thing in every movie, it just so happens to be in a city for Spider-Man and in Space for Thor and the Guardians. But the world of these characters feels way too integrated, like their worlds aren't clashing when they meet, it had always been the same one. (for the most part). I sorta expected this to at least be an exception with the Disney + shows, but besides Loki and technically Moon Knight, we just barely got that. Besides this, your comments on a lack of representation are spot on, perhaps (even though it shouldn't be this way), I could see them being "careful" about their approach to LGBTQ+ characters because people are dumb, but even then... Cool vid dude

"A bunch of white dudes" Yes! That is the problem with Marvel. Sure, they have their wonderful "safe space and snowflake" LGBT, minority characters created precisely to be as far from white dudes as one could possibly conceive, in virtually every comic book they produce. Bending over backwards to pander to these ideals, and losing inconceivable amounts when these comics are inevitably bought by no one... But, they just need to DO BETTER senator! Sure, they got rid of most of the main white male heros already. Slimy "bait and switch" tactic replaced many more reducing them to secondary characters in their own movie/show. Replaced by a much superior female character no one came to see or would care to see if she wasn't thrown into this project. Loki, Hawkeye, Thor, most recent Dr Strange in his own movie. Who doesn't want to see MIGHTY THOR Jane Foster with CGI muscle arms wielding the hammer?! Not laughable in the slightest. Who tuned in to the show LOKI to see ... LOKI? No one. Everyone secretly wished they would (very quietly) slip in the much more powerful, clever, confident, just superior in every way female version of Loki! Popular fan favorite tough girl ... what's her face. Same with Hawkeye. And who actually wanted to see a movie about Dr Strange with his name in the title?! Everyone subconsciously went to see Wanda obviously. Marvel only titled it after the male character, they replaced in his own movie again, because sexism and male fans intimidated by strong women! All replaced with female characters that are so popular they have to sneak them into popular male characters projects. "A bunch of white dudes" got the MCU to the heights they achieved, indeed. Now they use them as pawns to get audiences to actually watch the female-led product. Then they get to see the white dude character bested and degraded by a superior female. Marvel comics may go out of business bending over backwards to not be accused of the exact thing they are accused of in this video. The MCU may crash and burn doing the same. Reaching those unprecedented heights only to throw it all away but at least they grouped all those female heros together in Endgame for girl power posturing. We all know Captain Marvel is the first avenger, the strongest hero, and the most loved by fans. NO ONE cheered in theaters when Thanos punched her into another dimension. Marvel chose her as the new face of the MCU. Despite all this done by Marvel solely to please those who would accuse them of having too many white dudes, losing all those fans and esteem in the process. But no matter what they do they will always have a problem........ TOO MANY WHITE DUDES ! * an ad just reminded me of the newest entry into the 'too many white dudes' M-She-U: right after Doctor Strange is replaced by Wanda we have She Hulk replacing hulk. White dudes win again. When will Marvel learn?

Holy shit fuck, since when did “representation” become such a must have that it makes people overlook good films just because there isn’t a black character in the movie🤦‍♂️? The thought that a legit criticism for a film is that there are white characters treated as being important is… uh pretty ironic to put it lightly… . It’s people like this that pressure marvel/Disney and these big companies into thinking that representation and pandering is more important than making good characters and story telling. This is why we get characters like man hating Captain Marvel, lesbian Valkyrie, America Chavez’s Two Moms, Mary Sue Monica Rambeau, as well as generic race and gender swapped characters like Sam Wilson Captain America, Captain Carter, and Jane Foster Thor. The original Marvel Comics and Pre Infinity War MCU was Amazing and had Great Stories and characters, but nowadays people like this make marvel feel the need to shove these pandering and preachy characters into these movies bc they’re worried they’ll be crucified for “lack of representation” when that was never an issue even in the original comics with amazing characters like Storm, Black Panther, Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers yes she used to be awesome), Rouge, Luke Cage, etc. Fuck this is almost as bad as the people that hate the name X-“MEN” and think every member should be black🙄.

The Representation argument never really works. These comics and movies are the product of the US which is 60% Ethnic Caucasian. Black 13% and Hispanics similar numbers. The Representation actually isn't off at all. If anything if you're judging from ACTUAL US population statistics by Ethnicity, minorities are OVER represented. Now I'm not arguing for or against representation, I'm just saying: representation of WHAT? The actual Ethnic statistics of the country of origin for these comics and movies? Well they nailed that and outdid it. Underrepresentation is largely a myth based on ignorance of US population statistics based on Ethnicity. There's an article showing the numbers on Wikipedia that you can read and learn. Simple as that. If you go to ANY country, the domestically produced movies WILL NOT represent other world ethnicities, they will only represent that majority ethnicity of that country. Like.... no shit.... I don't expect to be represented at all in INDIAN movies, in CHINESE movies etc. unless the subject matter OF the movie IS about a foreigner, minority ethnicity etc.

You do have some points. Though I'm more focused on the aspects of representation and polishing some storylines (like if they're aiming on more modern take on the origin story (then stick with the actual story), or maybe a modern and new way on tackling the origin story (then give us something fresh far from its origin)). Sometimes we can't blame the directors and writers because they have to compress everything on what's been listed on their contract or agreement. Unless if they did what the studio for Lord of the Rings did. Peter Jackson fought for a 3-part film because he believes that the story could breathe more and emphasize more storyline that will be crucial. I am actually rooting for Shang-chi as a representation for Family tradition and most especially Chinese culture (or even Asia as a whole), and as well as Black Widow as a representation maybe for Child Trafficking and Exploitation and as well as Woman Empowerment. But during their third act, the story and/or character development/s is overshadowed by the grandiose third act of big CGI fights that sometimes agrees with the storyline but still on a larger scale is somehow not different with the usual big CGI fights for Marvel third acts. In regards to shows, wasn't expecting Hawkeye to be a Family Christmas-ish Show, but it's just goofy for me idk. Though I liked Loki, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Moon Knight on the other hand. Loki is setting up a major piece to be expected on the next MCU phase, while Moon Knight can be separated from MCU and it can stand on its own (I like it because it delve deep on mental illness and stability, and it's different from usual MCU). Falcon and the Winter Soldier is good but for some reason intended to be an underlying bromance chemistry boiling up on the background which is unsettling at times, classic MCU comedy lol.

I'm Asian and I don't need some cheap representation from Hollywood when I have already what's available. Shang Qi has kung fu but Iron Fist (bad example) has Buddhism, Xenophobic themes and the consequences of Corporal Punishment. But that's marvel. Saying Shang Qi is Asian representation is like pretending actors like Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, Sammo Hung, Jet Li, Fujioka Hiroshi, Ohba Kenji never happened

Look I don’t mean this in a “EWWW YOU ARE A LIBERAL” sort of way (seeing as I’m not a left OR a right I’m more of in the middle) but how did this video become political, In the middle of the video I mean. It became a sort of “Disney sucks” which I agree with but what I mean is that YES Disney sucks and YES they’re just greedy business Men/women. But I don’t think complaining about the fact that they’re bad at representation is a valid argument. I don’t like the recent MCU due to over-saturation and bad writing. And I don’t understand how the term “snowflake” is used against minorities. With what I’ve seen and heard it is really only used against “Woke” people and overly sensitive people. I am perfectly happy with having a MATURE conversation about this in my replies. But what I will not accept is people just saying “I disagree so you’re terrible” or “I didn’t understand that even though it made sense” or “I didn’t read your comment but I know you’re wrong” just please have an open minded mature FAIR conversation if you agree OR disagree with me or even if you agree with some things and disagree with other things. Thank you for your time if you have read this far, take care!

The MCU is good when it solidly follows a single story or just a single story with a small few references. Current MCU is well in a word....... Cameos. But while character cameos are fine the MCU also makes Everything else a cameo. Marvel: hey remember this plot point from this old story, hey remember this device from this other thing? And that is part of the problem... The literary term "Chekovs gun" refers to something being shown in the beginning of a story and have it be used later. The MCU is littered with Chekovs guns, practically an entire Chekovs armory. But the larger portion of writers for this either don't use them or retcon the props into those were fake and these mcguffins are something else. It's the same with storylines. The MCU doesn't have to show EVERY single major remembered story in there. But they have to have something that actually NO comic movie series or solo has........ Continuity. Imagine if the Harry Potter films started with the story of the 7th book, and then it's sequel is the fourth book, then the second book and so on. Also imagine the same with ANY book series adaptation. Not only would casual viewers be confused and not really know what's going on, hard line fans would rage against the studio for butchering the continuity. Moreso with mixing and matching elements of some storylines with others. The MCU pretty much does this two fold. First it does what most comic movies do, they have a mostly faithful version of the origin and the second is... Whatever popular elements or well remembered characters from later stories are Frankensteined into it's own vague idea. 2nd modern comic films seem to adapt parts of major events into also its own differing thing. Take for instance the first avengers film. It's mostly the first canonical story but visually it's ultimate avengers fighting classic loki with chitauri which are supposed to be skrulls in the ultimate universe and Thanos a character that doesn't even show up until decades in story later but is the mastermind of the main plot. The entire story is a jumble of bits from other stories and made its own thing as well a lot of story points like civil war, black widow and most of what is explained in Dr strange didn't need to happen because other writers or directors had solid ideas for continuity within universe, but Disney later on is like "NOPE we need to just crank out media after media for money". While I think future films will somewhat correct themselves as the Russo Brothers want to do Secret Wars and just like their previous films it will be a solid adaptation of that story and not "avengers fighting the beyonder and galactus AND the villain plots from 20 other event comics". Although thinking about it now a adaptation of the graphic novel The Incal is going to be made by Tika wiatiti that the novel creator trusts with his work and Tikas adaptation of Thor ragnarok was planet hulk mixed with small bits of other actual ragnarok stories from older Thor comics mixed in a blender.

12:17 is there really a problem with being white and Christian? even the guy who made a video about which freaks me out by the way isnt really explaining much and also keeps CPT marvel in high regard so I'm not taking his word on quality, but the shows aren't a 1to1 comparison to comics so what's the problem

Great video! The movies are bad primarily because they're not movies, they're tv shows. It's not long-form storytelling. It's just a long tv show with the same formula. Some people like it because of this. They know what they are getting and want to see the next episode. It is like spaghetti for dinner.. For me, it's just dull and repetitive. Also, the antagonists are so boring and stupid. I mean literally stupid,, not smart.. then there is the problem with the antagonist with same powers as the hero. over and over. The latter is clearly used when u run out of good ideas. Roman gladiatorial combat always was asymmetrical. Most will look back and realize that these movies just aren't good.

The mcu is starting to have issues that the comics have, but without any of the positives. Like you said it’s formulaic and most of the mcu is fairly bland at this point I feel like. Plus if you start reading comics it’s not as difficult to get into because you don’t have to read everything. Most of the time you can just start with a volume one of whatever and go on from there, and generally just read what looks or sounds cool

You’ve basically stated every point as to why i’ve started gravitating towards dc more, its just new territory I haven’t touched (since 2013) and with the over saturation of marvel with its nostalgia bait, pretty much everything besides the final 30 minutes of the movie and obvious twist trailers, borderline cookie cutter formula, dc is just has the experimental outlook and has limited to little restrictions on movies. Plus i can only watch so many action comedy with forced diversion before wanting to laugh at tony dying again. Also dc’s sfx look way cooler, it probably has to do with how much is done practically compared to the cgi-fest that is the mcu. Not to mention the costumes in dc are way cooler than the samey overdesigned mcu costumes fight me Jk, you are entitled to ur opinion plz don’t only joke also mcu does have good costumes like strange and spiderman’s suit at end of nwh

I feel like sum has gotta be wrong with me. It's like everyday I see more criticism and critical reviews about the mcu and its content. And I'm like. I enjoyed everything the mcu made (besides hulk and the first 2 thor movies) am I small brain. I've never noticed most of the issues mentioned about the mcu.
