He never said CONCACAF was better than AFC? He said the USMNT would be one of the favorites to win the Asian cup… which is true

I want to fully explain why the majority of RU-vidrs predicted the wrong final between Japan and South Korea. Firstly, many people referred back to the World Cup 2022, where both teams were successful. However, this approach is completely wrong because teams change within a year. Some teams get new players, coaches, and so on. Secondly, people might look at the squad for each team and simply pick the winner based on European club squads. But this approach might work for clubs because those players play together regularly each week, making them more organized. International teams, on the other hand, only play together once every few months, making it harder to predict their performance. Lastly, people who live outside of Asia mainly know Japan and South Korea well due to their good international reputation and developed countries. If they haven't followed the Asian Cup for many years due to age limitations, they might not have a clear understanding to predict the right team to win the cup. Additionally, some people put all their focus on friendly matches, thinking they are important indicators. However, many teams like Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, Thailand, and so on have had bad results in friendlies but performed well in international tournaments.

I agree with everything you said. And I'd like to add one more factor: The Crowd. When teams play with such marginal differences, the crowd also plays a bigger role. I went to see Iran vs Emirates game in Sydney, Australia all those years ago. There were 22,000+ in the stadium, of which 20,000+ were Iranians. This is astonishing as the whole population of Iranians in Australia is just 28,000. And we made so much noise the Australian commentator said it feels like I'm reporting from Tehran!

as a Korean , i know we fight amongst our selves whether it be Korea vs Japan or East Asian teams vs Arabs. But at the end of the day, we are all part of the AFC family and if Concacaf wants that smoke then i say put your money where your mouf is! They should do AFC vs Concacaf and I think we got em easy. Especially when US sports pundits think Iraq's biggest win was in this tournament hahaha EZ clap!

With a somewhat competent head coach I do think the usmnt would be a contender in the Asian cup. I do rate Japan over the usmnt but after that usmnt would easily be one of the favorites
@jmtz3149
@jmtz3149 5 месяцев назад
You cant be serious. "Beyond laughable"?? really? Im not saying they would have won this year, or most years but the us winning is a very real possibility. It wouldn't happen every time but normally the favorites tend to win over a long enough time frame.13/17 or 76 percent of AFC cups have been won by the big 5 in AFC. Qatar lost to the us C team. Considering only Japan are better than the US they would definitely be one of the favorites. Now the favorites don't always win obviously. Brazil were the favorites in 2022 and we saw how that went. Your claim is like saying England spain Netherlands couldn't win the World Cup. So them winning is very possible. If you played this cup out 100 times the us would win the second most times behind just Japan and maybe Korea.

For me, I prefer not get involved in controversy. Each confederation has their own merits, their strong points, their weak points, etc. I will say is just watch the tournament and don’t make any comparison. For me, I’m just a neutral who is a fan of Mexico that does talk about their ups and down and I’m surprise of the amounts of surprise of the Asian Cup and African Cup of Nation. I don’t compared Mexico with other nations because there are no small enemies in this world. Never judge and compare with someone that you don’t know about or have little knowledge. Do your research and be neutral. Don’t be bias and enjoy the match. See how your nation is doing and look for their strong point and weak point. Especially in the weak points where your nation can be but better as time goes on. I’m gonna stop from here before I ramble on and on. That is just my opinion and I do make mistakes that I learn to prove myself. K that is enough for me and I do hope everyone has a great day and please enjoy the match and don’t compare with someone.

Truth be told, the USA team is fundamentally tactically limited by an MLS level coach so we'll never reach our true potential come 2026, probably a first round or second round exit if we're lucky. I won't make excuses, but I honestly do think that America plays beneath its potential regularly because of mismanagement and there's nothing we can do about it. Filippo is kinda delusional and I think it comes from him being a Brazilian-American, being used to the demand Brazil faces will inevitably shape you as a fan. However; I think Iran isn't that good of a team as well, no offense meant, but I feel like they're the #1 overrated of Asia, they're a good team but I think a lot of people see a gap in quality against other teams that simply isn't as large as people say it is. America being the best in CONCACAF should beat them in a World Cup, I honestly believe that is an expectation. However; that shouldn't be a staggering point of argument at all. We're undefeated in competitve matches versus England yet brag about one win versus Iran? Shows how naive the majority of the fanbase is, and be kind on them. They're essentially the children of football. As it has balooned over here, a lot of new fans think they know about what they're saying when they are yet to experience the Dunning-Krueger Affect. In all other sports that are major, Basketball, Hockey, Baseball: America is at the top; if not the best. America's Women's team is also this, we're essentially the Brazil of Women's Football. This bloating of sports leagues causes fans to have unrealistic expectations. Truth is, USA is a mid level team thats finally getting genuine talent and it's gone to peoples heads. USA fans are pretty uneducated and sincerely lack football knowledge as well. When they watch a game, they're not familiar with a low block. An example is they'd think a Jose Mourhino led team would be terrible when he could be managing 2020 Bayern Munich, they'd be clueless as to the genuine talent on the field.

I have no doubt USMNT way better than Asian team(other than Japan). But better is not guarantee winning. In 90 minutes everything can happen. Iran is one of top four teams in Asia though. I rank Japan Korea Saudi and Iran

Cup tournaments aren’t like league style qualifying games. You don't need to win in 90 minutes regularly to win cups at all. Portugal at Euro 2016 is the best example, with the Wales win their only victory in 90 minutes. So USA could definitely win without playing amazing football at all. Korea reached the semis with just one win in 90 mins against Bahrain. But if there was ever time available on a football calendar for some home-and-away league style tournament between the 5 best AFC nations and 5 best CONCACAF nations, I don’t see USA ever winning it. Especially if it is tied to World Cup qualifying, with them screwing up 2018 and finishing 3rd last time out.

"I can understand why you tweeted that. It seems that people didn't fully grasp your point. You weren't comparing the football teams of two continents. However, by mentioning that the US soccer team could win the Asian Cup, it appears that you have limited information about the Asian Cup. I understand that you used Iran as a comparison, but I can see your perspective. A few months ago, Qatar participated in the Concacaf Gold Cup and performed poorly, losing 4-0 to Panama. However, in the current Asian Cup, Qatar has reached the semi-finals. This may make you doubt the quality of the Asian Cup. However, it's important to note that Qatar has made changes to their coaching staff and players, and they also have the advantage of hosting the tournament. Furthermore, Iran's current team has undergone changes since 2022 WC, with a better coach and players. They even defeated Japan, a team that had previously won against Germany with 4 goals. If Iran and US were to have a rematch now, I would bet that Iran would win 3-0. Lastly, I understand that your tweet was a clever way to attract followers by discussing a topic that resonates with Asian countries.

Filippo is a grifter and gaslighter. He is the Donald Trump of USMNT and the followers are the same. They will attack you if you say anything negative about him. He will say something that is incendiary, and then backtrack saying that's not what he said or what he meant. He even did it in your comments lol. A grifter is someone who tricks you to get what they want - what you called a master baiter, and a gaslighter is someone who tries to make you doubt your own memories or feelings which he is doing in your comments and anyone that disagrees with him.
